Wanted to ask. For newbie like me, any recomendation for a drawing pad? Preferably the newbie type instead of the advanced type. Learning progress and budget constrain. Hahahah~~

The only difference between the touch and without is just the touchpad right? Does it make a big difference when use?

Yeap, I think with touch, you can play around the canvas a little bit more comfortably, but most people rarely uses it, so better just buy without it. I never own a tablet, maybe some other fellas can give a cent or two about this.

how long does it take for you to create something like this?
and how long have you been drawing/painting?

Thank you smile.gif

It varies greatly, depending on whether I have references (be it an actual image, a live figure or something from my mental library). If I have references it'll take only a couple of hours, if I need to construct it from scratch it can take up to 4 hours, including experimentation and measuring.

As for how long I've been drawing, I only practiced the craft seriously for the past five years.

As a newbie do you all think that its appropriate to get the tablet with touch or without? It's at least rm70-80 difference between those two.

Comparison between Intous CTH-480 and CTL-480.

personally i not recommended touch function because i never use it and it is lag when i switch in between hover the stylus + touch to navigate canvas....

i end up use my other hand on keyboard button more or express keys more than touch function.

PS: i using intuos 5 touch

Yup, touch make it laggy, and sometimes got ghosting if ur tab is not cleaned properly. Also prefer keyboard control over touch.

Previous art before Sonico - The Girl With Pink Glasses.

a good practice is always left hand on keyboard, pressing on the shortcut, because you will work faster. Some forumer and me list down the shortcut for Photoshop here a while ago, here are some of the more commonly use shortcut

B - Brush
E - Eraser
[ - Scale down brush
] - Scale up brush
R - Rotate canvas
V - Cursor to move
Alt (Brush Mode) - Color Picker
Alt (Eraser Mode) - Move
Ctrl T - Transform

As usual perfectly done smile.gif

Anyways I got my Wacom tablet. Got the one without touch. The cheapest model and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. Quite tough with the pressure drawing. Still not good tongue.gif

What I do now is to trace some stock images and next is to learn how to color using illustrator biggrin.gif
