You have to remember, all paintings go through an "ugly" phase, which starts from somewhere around 20% completion and ends only when the painting is about 90% complete.
At this stage, the painting may look horrible, terrible, and really bad, and you will very likely think "---- this, I'm not finishing it" at some point during this phase, but you have to push through that mental barrier and complete the painting. It may not be your best work, but it DOESN'T MATTER. The point is that you can and will complete whatever you set out to do; quitting halfway only starts a nasty downward spiral where you start to get discouraged very easily in future projects. So just bite the damn bullet and finish your work. You won't regret finishing it, and at the very least, you'll be able to train your mind to keep your tenacity when working on art.
