Global Illumination, as there is no soft shadow from the environment or from other sources, making her face looks flat, contradicting the background.

I got that shit for free with my Intous Draw. Thought I'd start drawing more since I'll be using an actually legit/legal copy....

...But my already poor drawing skills take a deeper dive whenever I try to draw seriously with a tablet. The strokes just won't come out as accurately as I'd like and I'd end up pressing the undo button dozens of times before I can finally get ONE stroke right.

I can't draw at my best unless it's direct-contact, but I'm poor and I refuse to take a loan for Cintiq, so I've been sticking to traditional art for drawing animu and use my tablet for multimedia projects instead.
*
Yeah, it takes a long time to make the tablets behave like your own fingers.
For me, I can't even replicate 70% of my powers on tablets. laugh.gif

Not exactly the best thread to ask, but this is the one I'm most familliar with anyway so...

Anyone here knows where, in Malaysia, can I find a shop that sells Cintiq alternatives? Namely display tablets from brands like Huion, Yiynova, etc. Preferably walk-in shops, because I'm not comfortable with online trading for shit worth over 1k.
*
Most of distributor here only bring Wacom for big shops. Sometimes got Genius models on the shelf.
I wouldn't recommend buying unknown brand cuz of legacy driver issue/unsupported problem etc.

From my research, Huion display tablets are a good bang for the buck.

...But nevermind that.

I went to a Samsung shop a few hours ago. They had Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1(2016) With S Pen at the try tables, equipped with a sketching app, and it was a fairly responsive device as far as drawing goes. Drawing on it feels a whole lot more direct and natural to using the regular tablet while looking at the screen. Couple this with Medibang for Android and I basically have a poor man's Cintiq Companion, so it should be a definite buy, right?

...Alas, I didn't buy it. Because:

1. It's an Android tablet, and they're destined to get damaged after a few years.
2. No app on Google Play that can transform it into an actual graphics tablet to my PC, like people did with their pricy iPad Pro and Astropad app
3. At only 3GB RAM, I can't do any complex painting job on it(multiple layers, high resolution up to 10k square pixels canvas)
4. RM1.6k for something that will depreciate in value real fast is a lot in this dreadful economy of our unfortunate country

A part of me still wants to buy it. A teenage me would have spent that much money in a blink of an eye, but being an adult, I feel too conflicted. I stood outside the shop for a good half hour trying to justify spending money for this, but I ultimately walked away....

Man, if our economy isn't as bad as it is now, I would've bought it in a blink.

Would you consider buying used pen tablet? This price quite ok la, probably can nego till rm800. Problem is that the seller is at Miri...

Due to high volume of nsfw content, I cannot post freely here cry.gif

I learned the flip trick waaaay back when I was just started, and to zoom out-zoom in method to get composition right. Still, to learn is a thing, but to master it is another story.

For the background, is it fine to leave it like this, or should I make some effort to paint over it? hmm.gif

We just need something to talk about, and participation. Content is already here, but it isn't worth to talk about - ie. posting own artwork, but less/no response/no context.

I think what people want to read and participate are tutorial, step by step drawing or just some amazing work by amazing people. Like this for example:

as posted in /anime which gained 200+ comments

(not necessarily constructive comment, but yeah, still alot)

Nowadays I only doodle on discarded papers' blank spots, my notebook and only very occasionally on Medibang with my A5 2017 and Adonit Jot stylus.

...Yes, i bought that expensive stylus for my phone, thinking i'd draw more since it would be like Cintiq, only smaller and slightly less responsive. I was wrong. Still cant make a complete drawing since i bought it 4 months ago.

You need something that would drive your will. I suggest you to do more research vigorously laugh.gif

I did something different this time.
