Hi gark,
I share my point...
I like maybanku2...less than 5min..can pump $$ in to buy stock, take out from FD and move to nominee acc less than 5min to buy stock. No need to call broker to comfirm receive my money in real time. Previously what i understand for interbank transafer money require to pay rm2 for GIRO. Dont like to keep cash sitting idle in any bank.
Divident each time receive the nominee will charge rm2.50. Preference only bi or annual dividident distribution.
less it will deduct from my dividend. So is adviseable to invest more...
Nominee CDS can ask the broker fill up the form...

Yet i ask them about BSDPlantation subscription they didnt know anyting....I miss that..still agres with u..BSDPlantation tree very old...
I also thought to move my portfolio to direct CDS, juz matter of time i need to go there and do.
I note your idea, i will do some changes;
I waiting the this year investment fair at KLCC..usualy open CDS accout will be free. I did for my wife last year.
This year I will do next try out other Broker, see what feature...
1. Other broker also got internet e-deposit. Some are free if bank and broker is same entity. So far I have no problem transferring money. BTW CDS brokerage account pays interest slightly less than 1 month FD only.. so its not a bad deal.
2. Dividend get charged, remember fill up form is also not free one, got charges as well ... all these charges will accumulate over time. Some nominee accounts have storage charges as well. CDS all FOC...
3. nominee account is shared account. If certain stocks are very popular, and hit the nominee collective holding limit, you can no longer buy....

Same with some speculative stocks and warrant. Very mah fan...
4. No need wait until investment fair, talk to a broker say you interested to join. Ask them to adsorb all your share transfer fee (usually RM 10 per counter) and also adsorb the RM 10 CDS opening fee. Most brokerage will agree to do so...if you insist. Some will even come to your office open account for you, you no need go to them 1
