anyway this is my last remarks on him, it's getting boring and i won't be bothered to talk about the sifu anymore.


sure but allow me to post my last wall of texts on this debate.

getting SOOC right is important, but to limit yourself and stop here is merely stupid - you won't enjoy the creative part of true photography. in other words, you just want see all compliments on your skill when you post SOOC shots here, not because you enjoy photography. many of the SOOC here are just like what goldfries said - lack of composition, underexposed, etc. they're not final product yet. a true artist will not stop here, they respect the art and will perfect the final output regardless of the method used. moreover, there're some creative shots simply impossible to achieve with SOOC. it's up to you to follow some kind of narcissism philosophy, but then you won't be to understand the true form of art.

Since we are on the subject of shots with the mobile phone, let me contribute one of my fav from the days when I was just shooting with the N8.

yes, i would have edit that shot too, it's inevitable that you either blow the sh!t out of that bright sky, or the shadows are overly dark, you simply can't achieve a balanced shot with SOOC unless the camera has settings on shadow/highlight, or you do HDR.

if strictly follow SOOC rules, then such shot wouldn't have even make it to the public eyes.

and to keep topic back on track, i admire the color reproduction of note and note2. to my eyes they have the best color reproduction with least obvious color cast to the photos.

+1 to this. I wouldn't have known how far phone cameras can go on their own if I just read reviews on the net. Cuz all the reviews just use auto-mode. But in this thread can only see certain camera's performance, those that are not being posted are left out. Also depends on who takes it, so u need to agak2.

But I also dunno how to say right or wrong as after all, this is still a casual pic-posting thread. I guess if u post some edited pics, just mention that it's processed by blablabla software in order to not mislead people about the phone's camera quality.

If use auto-mode on lumia, colours will also be natural, but I dun quite like that.
I'm not gonna upgrade soon, maybe end of this yr only consider.

I find that most of them got angle/composition(not sure what's it called) prob, also it's better if u play and understand the camera settings. U can also view people's pictures to get ideas.

I like a little less than half cook.
