QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jan 5 2013, 05:59 PM) different level la sifu. edit mobile photos only consider that. So your "concept" of 'dun edit pictures= genuine photographers, edit pictures= noob photographers' only applies to photos taken by a mobile device? You professional level with expensive lenses This post has been edited by -kytz-: Jan 6 2013, 07:21 PM |

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Jan 7 2013, 02:54 PM) Ampang lookout. Damn that place is crawling with rempit couples. Cant find a good spot to take pics, plus no tripod Well, for night scenes such as this with so little lighting around, a tripod is a must, shoot at very long shutter speeds (at minimum ISO), narrow down that aperture for better sharpness, shoot multiple exposures and most importantly, Post Processing will be the key factor. But with a mobile device I usually won't even bother shooting to be honest » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Nokia 808 Btw, can PureView808 allow you to control the settings like aperture,ISO and Shutter Speed manually? |

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Jan 7 2013, 07:15 PM) the 808 can only control ISO. Shutter speed cannot control, but can be manipulated in certain ways (e.g. switch on ND filter to prolong exposure). My point is that the location you're shooting from, there is way too little light (from what I'm seeing in your picture) and coupled with the extreme limitations of a mobile device plus you do not have a tripod, it would be very hard to get what you might have in mind. Well, at least, you can try getting those tripods made for mobile devices, helps a lot in taking night shots at minimum ISO (without flash) i know mobile phones cant shoot as good as DSLRs, or even prosumer cams, or even digital point-n-shoot cams, but that's the beauty of it. once u get a nice pic, u'll be really satisfied. QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jan 7 2013, 08:49 PM) geng le sifu you finally learned the secret. A perspective from a person start from a mobile phone vs DSLR is different. When the more challenging it is once you master it opens a new perspective into the world like you said once you get the perfect moment its priceless not like DSLR they shoot multiple photos then go home choose one of the best then edit. While I understand that one should put a lot of thought into a picture before pressing the shutter button, I have to disagree that one shouldn't shoot many picture and then go home and pick the best shot. We would love to only need to take one shot to capture a moment, but when certain moments involves action or a lot of movement, you definitely have to take several shots in quick succession. Not because you are noob at anticipating the moment, it is sometimes because the action happens so suddenly that you cannot risk the shot by just taking a single shot. This is playing it smart and making use whatever the camera can provide you with. QUOTE I really admire sifus like yourself than willing take the effort to adept to the device rather than most wait device adapt to them thats why most DSLR user they need spend alot of money on good lens and post processing to achieve optimal quality. Dont believe you can ask any DSLR owner. What happens if the device cannot perform to your expecations and the only way is to get several accessories to support it? How about you try and use your PureView808/Lumia920 or whatever mobile device ONLY to photograph a night portrait shoot let's just say at KLCC Twin Towers with super low noise level while the subject is perfectly lit up with NO harsh flash aka white ghost effect and with the background fully exposed and present to me a PROFESSIONAL QUALITY picture? If you can do it with your mobile phone, then I'd gladly throw away my DSLR+lens+whatever into the bin and get a PureView808/Lumia920/whichever you're using QUOTE Pureview 808 no choice need tripod or else sure blur. Ya right. You shouldn't use a tripod. You should adapt to the device rather than the device adapt to you. Your own words buddy QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jan 7 2013, 08:54 PM) different level la just my style of adepting to the knowledge or perspective i learn from some SIFUS. We all start from somwhere, be it from a mobile device, from a PnS or an expensive DSLR. You shouldn't discriminate anyone just because he/she starts of with an equipment way more expensive than when you started your photography with. Its like school why dont ppl just start FORM 1 why must start kindergarden then primary school then high school then college then UNI and so on. The noob photographers are by choice it depends on that fella if he want to edit please go ahead. QUOTE Yea kind of apply to mobile phone. DSLR have RAW more control so post processing is enchancing it. We cant expect wedding photographer shoot with mobile phone which cost 5k to 10k risking them? So, edit= noob, no edits= genuine or by your words "original photography", doesn't apply to DSLR users...just because editing RAW files can enhance the picture? Are you saying that Post Processing pictures taken by a moble phone will make the picture WORSE? QUOTE No offense MASTER SIFU an example for you since you are professional photographer do you think you can master what danny sifu just did with a mobile phone? For master danny sifu to master a DSLR its as simple as 123. I'm no sifu, I'm just a person who owns a DSLR and enjoys photography QUOTE(AronC @ Jan 7 2013, 11:42 PM) Aiyo kytz, he simply implies that you throw away your current DSLR and start photography with a mobile phone la. Ya, I think I should take a test and only with an approval from Sifu Aspire2006, then only can use back my DSLR |

QUOTE(eidda @ Jan 8 2013, 01:11 AM) this is one person in my contact, if talk about edit he also can shot nice also with n808 like mostly DSLR shooting.. Just like what goldfries mentioned, just to make it clear in order not to mislead others, the pictures you provided is NO WHERE near DSLR quality. QUOTE(happy_berry @ Jan 8 2013, 07:52 AM) Thanks for the compliment QUOTE(zuhaili87 @ Jan 8 2013, 02:43 PM) Damn those pictures are stunning! But sadly, clearly the owner stated "edited" With blabla. Thats a bummer. But i know u and aspire doesn't use editing software, so u guys have my full respect because of that. With all due respect, I feel that some of you guys here have clearly been brainwashed into thinking "no edit=pro, edit=noob/fake/etc" kind of nonsense. All i know is that we have to spoiler picture that we quoted or else agito will pm u. Jgn mara eh agito, joking only. Honestly speaking, nobody gives a DAMN on whether you edit your picture or not. What's important is the final result....the end product. There's a saying, a photographer is only as good as his pictures |

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Jan 8 2013, 07:51 PM) look guys, cant we all just agree that this is a Camera Phone Shots Gallery? Actually if you read back the previous posts carefully, it was aspire2006 who brought up the phone vs DSLR subject so keep DSLRs out of the topic alright? even the best camera phone is RM1400, and it has so many other tasks to handle. DSLRs costs at least twice as much, and its only job is to take pictures. that's like comparing the small blade in a swiss knife army to a meat chopper. it's pointless. my belief is that we are trying to show how each phone performs here AS A CAMERA PHONE. why the hell are u guys comparing it with DSLRs? that's like seeing someone taking a picture of the moon with his phone, and then u tell him "why bother? the Hubble telescope can take pics of the moon way better than your phone" come on guys, we're better than this. this used to be a thread that i frequently visit just to see the beautiful pics taken by u guys. edit or not edited, it doesnt matter. if aspire likes non-edited pics, then so be it. i can understand why he felt that way, cos if the pics are edited, then it will be hard to tell which phone performs better than the other, cos some people might have better editing skills than others. but even if u want to edit, then so be it. what's wrong with wanting your pictures to look nice and share it with the world? edit or non-edited, im sure either one is better than posts filled with pointless bickering in this thread. sticking to the thread.. choo choo!! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Nokia 808 (poor room lighting) Post #763 http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=57375383 This may sound harsh, but honestly, any sort of Post Processing done won't turn a lousy picture into a good picture. You may have the best colours or the best sharpness in your pictures but if the picture itself isn't good then the picture isn't good regardless with added Post Processing or not. I'm talking about subject matter/interest, composition and light which takes precedence over Post Processing which is secondary. When a world class photographer like Keda Z (He's Malaysian! http://tinyurl.com/bds9kp9 |

QUOTE(zuhaili87 @ Jan 8 2013, 10:45 PM) YUP agreed. 808 provide natural color with 0.01% noise. Thats what i like about it, like i said if only it use iOS. haha. ask daniel to upgrade lo! join 808 camp! Middle one definitely better than the original though contrast can lower a bit well, it depends on individual preference actually, under cook, half cook, over cook? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Jan 19 2013, 05:32 PM) hehe, where got.. Care to provide bigger pictures and the original full reso? i mean like when i convert the 8mp or 38mp images to 800x600, especially night scenes, always will create noise at the dark areas. the original pics dont have that much noise. among flickr, picasa, photobucket, and imgur, i found that flickr is the best, but still got noise even if i upload the original big size pic without noise. this was never a problem before this, since all my phones previously got noise. so it's no issue.. haha some examples: Imgur, Picasa, Flickr, in that order. If u notice, in all pics, the buildings furthest in background all got some noise and stray pixels surrounding them. the original file doesnt have that. (pic in Imgur has been pre-resized by ms paint) ![]() ![]() ![]() 2013-01-19-0681 by danny_sp87, on Flickr |
