QUOTE(Boon3 @ Aug 16 2012, 04:25 PM) The yield itself is so low. I am a big supporter of Singapore REITs. Comparison with Singapore reits: http://reitdata.com/ Malaysia Ringgit past coouple days have weakened once more, since hitting its 3 months high. Question is also why Msia Reits? Why not Singapore reits? Better yield, stronger currency would also mean more gains, a hedge against the ringgit. Added on August 16, 2012, 6:24 pm QUOTE(yhtan @ Aug 16 2012, 12:40 PM) Singapore is a place for rich Malaysian to park there money, in case anything happen, no need travel to Switzerland so far away I might keep my Singapore portfolio intact, but live in Malaysia.I can convert my dividends from SGD$ to Ringgit and live like a king. Tambun Indah Land Bhd saw its net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2012 (Q212) grow 100.5 per cent to RM9.5
million from RM4.7 million in the same period previously. This is due mainly to increasing revenue recognition from its current projects in Simpang Ampat and Butterworth. As a result, Tambun Indah was able to record a revenue growth of 50.3 per cent to RM78.8 million for Q2 from RM52.4 million a year ago, having benefited from existing projects launched over the past two years. "The better financial performance indicates our success in acquiring strategic landbank and launching innovative developments that appeal to discerning consumers in Penang in recent years," said Teh Kiak Seng, Tambun Indah Managing Director. "The group is already looking to launch new and exciting projects in Penang in the second half of the year with a total estimated gross development value (GDV) of RM597.6 million," he said in a statement. The developer is expected to launch five new projects by year-end, namely the mixed residential Pearl Residence 1 and Pearl Impian 1 development within its flagship Pearl City township. Add to that, the mixed residential BM Residence project in Bukit Mertajam, three-storey residential development, Carissa Villas in Butterworth and Straits Garden, Tambun Indah's second foray into the Penang Island market. Meanwhile, the second quarter was also a busy period for the group with the launch of two projects, namely the Pearl Indah 3 mixed residential development and the Carissa Villas shop offices, which have estimated GDV of RM92.9 million and RM22.5 million, respectively. These two projects bring the group's current ongoing projects to 12 across Penang with total GDV of RM813 million. As at end-June, Tambun Indah's total unbilled sales stood at RM261.7 million. -- Bernama |

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Aug 16 2012, 07:04 PM) Have not gone thru the earnings report yet. Just glanced the Edge article: http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/business-ne...-rm38095m-.htmlYeah there's a one off settlement but the second last line was what I was betting on previously. The segmentals had been showing decent profits from their LNG charters (contracted biz) and I thought the market had way oversold the stock at 3.90. Don't have this stock anymore. Looking for opportunities as usual. |

The stock we talked the other day. The selling appears to have subsided. Just to let you know and my own preference remains. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Aug 16 2012, 07:14 PM) Phew! Scared me for a moment. I thought I was going to get more UMA. Shared opinions are very educating indeed, it takes much knowledge from both sides to voice out their perspective views. Not many can perform such things, but lots of forummers can voice out buy calls without giving their analysis. Dont get me wrong, as I very much appreciates buy calls but at least put the basis there. Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I enjoyed it too. Nice to have a open minded chat over stocks. The stock we talked the other day. The selling appears to have subsided. Just to let you know and my own preference remains. I was monitoring and in queue, no luck though and not willing to chase as volume is not that great as with a few counters I was eyeing on, no volume but price appreciates..Paper loss a bit today though mostly on Affin n Skpetro.. |
