I got carried away. Found my Elven Eberron Idol... I mean Bard in a party right after completing the 'Kobolds and evil stuff quest' at the Tavern in StormReach.

I find the game pretty engrossing though I had some problems adjusting with the left mouse button to 'look' and right mouse button to 'whack' setup. The people are quite nice. I mean, you don't really see people going out of their way to help you in other mmorpgs. Here, I had some folks who invited me to their party, run out to the 'port' from 'waterworks' to help me settle my 2nd quest (healing elixir) in the sewers.

The lewt is awesome!! I'm gonna see if I can get in and do the waterworks again for more phat lewt! I think I hit Level 1, Rank 4 by the time I went to bed.

The best thing is that it runs without any lag on my old machine at medium settings. (found some graphical glitches though). I feel that interface wise, it isn't that good.

weeee repeated waterworks twice XD but good exp and item i dont mind so azxel u playing in khyber or aundair? and whats ur char nick? XD

Mind specifying how old exactly is your machine?
Mine is AMD Duron 1GHz wif 600+ DDRAM and a GeForce FX5200 128MB Graphic Card.
Not sure this is able to support the game or not.

By the way, at the moment, is it the only way to purchase the game is thru online purchase?

My machine slightly canggih-fied than yours. 2.5 Ghz AMD Athlon XP, 1.5GB Ram and 256mb GeForce6800GT. I don't think your machine can support... need to check the min requirements.

You can get DDO from www.gamers.com.my (or Software Botique in SS2) as they brought in plenty of stocks.

Yay! I finally got my copy of DDO cant wait to go home to install it.

So far, from what I know SOCKman! & myself (Amdur Carenir) are in Aundair (but I haven't met up with him yet). I got 2 more singaporean friends (from Shadowbane, Horizons, CoH days) in the same server as well but haven't bump into them yet. From what I hear it's less laggy compared to the more populated servers.

I made friends pretty well, login 2nd time, and they invited me to their party again within minutes. People are quite friendly. Remember to turn on your Voice Chat.

Ah community and population are factors for my server choice.

Once i've installed... which is after work I'll post here my IGN.

By the way, what classes are you guys playing?

Overall, I think the DDO community is much better than that you find in WoW or most MMORPGs.

My character is an ex-rock star turned boyband turned fag (that can kick ass) that's gone solo. I sing to inspire people, with my guitar-looking instrument, to do more damage as they battle ugly Kobolds and Spiders in the depth of the sewers. Yes, I am a Bard...

karwaidotnet, just turn down the settings and I guess it should be fine. it's kinda dark anyway to see any textures or anything.

approaching level 4 edi cant wait to get those elemental weapons >.<
