QUOTE(butthead @ Oct 15 2012, 04:17 PM) it depends on how strict the manufacturer wants to enforce their rules... GH Speedbikes have Fuji and some KHS tandems in their shop.. for example... i would stick to watever my bike shop has... hence, dropping my BMC plans for 2013... i can't really be bothered with this being better than that by x number of % or this is better than that in terms of value for money.... or that is a couple percentage cheaper than this... can't calculate so much as owning a bike is x years long... i don't want to end up in no man's land... it might not be the bike that i want so hard... but, can't really bother that much... friend says i am stupid.. just get it wherever it's cheaper... my answer is, let's see in the long run... assuming you have a bike shop you are comfortable and clicks in the first place... saya sokong

QUOTE(minizian @ Oct 16 2012, 09:00 PM) Added on October 16, 2012, 9:06 pmIs it okay why u prefer to go to mechanical way? Is it save cost(i dont mind doing so frankly speaking) or just lighther or (insert here) Forgot to ask about the EPO thing while i was there i've read positive feedback from di2 users in terms of smooth shifting. i've never ridden it, but i've tried shifting the gears. didn't like it. it felt like pushing a button, no real 'clicking' feel when shifting. that's about it.

i'd go with force. price is cheaper than DA7900, and lighter in weight too! i've never tried sram before. u gotta ask our YB butthead.
my previous groupset was ultegra 6600. then i upgraded to DA7900. the rear shifting is excellent. but not the front shifting. with DA7900, i have to really push the lever as hard if not harder than ultegra 6600, in order to upshift the FD. i thought maybe i was just unlucky to get an imperfect shifter, but then i read a number of reviews with same feedback on DA7900 front shifting.
very disappointed with DA7900. sometimes i regret i didn't make the leap. hahaha....
again, racun diri sendiri
btw, sram vs shimano, it's all about your preference over the shifting style. double tap vs two-fingers

QUOTE(minizian @ Oct 16 2012, 10:26 PM) My shop got DA9000 edi, forgot to take the pic of it. haha I also felt that the front shifting for 105 is abit hard too, had to push the leaver full swing to get the gear properly shift into the big ring. Not a prob for me as i mostly ride in small chainring. it's not about riding in small or big ring. it's about paying thousands but u get less than perfect products. i remember campy's interview on EPS. campy said that they took such a long time to release EPS because they didn't want to sell experimental products. damned shimano short product lifecycle.
introduced di2 10s first, then only introduced 11s. they need to get their priorities straight.

QUOTE(butthead @ Oct 17 2012, 10:13 AM) it's japanese mar... innovation comes first.... lucky they are not singaporeans or you'd be dead... kiasu-ness to the max japs also kiasu la. campy already beat them with coming up with 11s first. so shimano wanted to beat campy with putting electronic gruppo first on the market. kiasu lah.

QUOTE(minizian @ Oct 17 2012, 07:59 PM) Don think i would need to buy any sram brake as the Madone 5.9 had integrated brake included if i go for the frameset. Apparently the brake its quite good based on the review. Still waiting for my lbs to call me up sudah tak sabar ya?

QUOTE(minizian @ Oct 17 2012, 07:59 PM) Not sure if i should go for full crankset with 28 - 11 or with the wfli cassate or compact crank. My normal route only have short but steep hills along the way. I was thinking for my new bike i would go for full crankset and leave compact for climbing job on my EMC (there another place which is a proper hill climbing loop) What ya think? 53/39, 12-25 or 52/38. not much difference This post has been edited by miaopurr: Oct 17 2012, 10:09 PM
