Hi! I need help with buying MTB. I've been looking for an entry level MTB and i am a beginner just about to start mountain biking. Any suggestion? My budget is 3k.
*
You will get better answers from the pinned MTB topic.. This is more on road/racing bike rather than MTB biggrin.gif

haha.. damn..then i'm geting mine for the wrong reason..    Peer Pressure cool.gif .
Anyway, the practical reason i wanted to try, is  the hope that it will spread/even out the workload on the legs. Shift some work to the back of the legs.
*
Well, for me, it's due to the weight and the price. It's not cheap and weighth more than normal pedal. <y current pedal only weight 110gm on each side. biggrin.gif

more like hitting his gonads  icon_question.gif

or maybe his balls is itching and he is just scratching his balls with his saddle.

*
Talking about saddle positioning, instead of horizontal postion at 90 degree (Hope my math still Ok blush.gif ), I feel more comfortable slanting the seat downward by ~ 120 degree

Anyone agree wth me? Less balls gonna hit the saddle on long distance ride... Still waiting for a solo or probably gather few for my next big on- To Pulau Carrey & back from Vt14 Puchong via SKVE...well still dreaming blush.gif

Well, that 62 yr old oldman probably riding a MTB wth 30 gears or a hybrid bike wth atleast 27-30 gears compare to normal RB having 18-20 gears...

On the same hilly slope, my 27gears MTB can easily climb wth the smallest Front crank + largest rear gears.. but on max 10th gears.. I failed to climb the same hill I used to climb using my 27speeds MTB cry.gif

yeah.. no compact gears back then.. now, you can mash up some MTB / road mix and match 34 small ring matched to 36tooth rear cog and ride up...

*
Now abit regretting upgrading to ultegra normal cogs rather than ori FSA compack cogs sad.gif cry.gif ...Can go faster on flat but going uphill fail bit time cry.gif

it won't do epic jumps lar.. but it might survive some off roading if you can spare money to replace broken wheels and stuff... CX frames are road frames too... just with different brake mounts...

you meant your crank? why did you do that for?

*
Yeah I changed my crank from compact to 53-39...now susah liao going uphill.. cry.gif Thinking I want to gain more speed but the actual fact I'm more like touring nature...now all the steep hills that I can ride during mtb days, I need to push up damn.. blush.gif cry.gif
