Hi guys, i recently feel like picking up cycling as a hobby.

Mainly, to lose weight.

Do you guys think fixie is a good idea for like 10-15km ride daily?

lost weight go Jog 5km+ a day much better result.
1K can get 3 pairs good shoe

running safer than cycling IMO

actually... that is a misconception...i used to think running is bad for a lot of things.. joints being one...

providing that the postures are right..foot strike and everything... running actually improves bone health as the impacts actually encourages your bones to build and create denser bone structures based on a scientific study...

and if you have a correct posture... forces sent down your foot will actually be distributed correctly and dissipated as it travels up your body... running with bad shoes, etc actually puts forces onto your joints and prematurely wears them down...

talking of joint wear... cycling is actually worst on the knees than running as i heard in the long run...

best sport for me is actually swimming... you get to work every muscle and you exercise in a weightless environment which induces no stress onto any part of the body...

unfortunately... i sink like a rock...so... swimming is not my game.. neither is running for that matter...most prolly gonna trip over my own feet...

Just a question, a tiny bent on my aluminium frame on side of top tube its okay right? Think it happend due to my two horrible crash?!

no one responded because it has been ridden around for a while already... if something bad were to happen.. it would have happened by now...

it's alloy... the worry is at least 70% less than if it is a carbon unit...  furthermore... it's on the top tube... if the dent is on the chain stay.. i'd be shatting my pants everytime i ride...

aluminum cans are only a millimeter or two thick... and that is not what was used to solder the frames together... neither was that used to make our protons...

it will be quite hard to break a frame... and in the event of it breaking... it is due to 2 reasons... a crash so epic, the rider is as badly injured and is most prolly laying in the hospital...or it will be due to metal fatigue after a number of years...

my first full sus MTB... an Iron Horse FS-1 long long ago broke at the rear triangle after 5 years of abuse.. 5 long years on a chromoly frame....countless flip over the bars and falls the odd one or two landing on people's car hoods...

eh... for a fact... CrMo is stronger than aluminum..  it might not be stiffer but stronger... that is why you see very thin CrMo tubes and very thick aluminum frames... CrMo is also one of the choices for building competition roll cages for cars...

but pasar auntie always say proton is made of milo thin.. although thicker... but i find it very amusing since there are very little cars in the entire productions market that is made of aluminum... i'd be glad to be driving a proton that can rival the production complexities of a Lotus Elise... dare i say proud even if it was made of aluminum... haha

aluminum was the high end bike back then... like what carbon is now..

steel and cromo is the norm for enthusiast bikes...

it is a myth until it happens to me... or i am not evil enough... or are you referring to bad asses... bad assness and evilsm is not exactly the same thing you know...

jus joking.. like velonews and bicycling.. most international magz are quite expensive... primarily due to their content and coverage at the events... i think procycling is a tad thicker as well than most other cycling magz...

i bought the procycling photography special some months ago at borders... only pristine condition copy i found.. and that was 65 bucks or so... the usual procycling issue is around 35 bucks to 40 bucks an issue...


i don't really buy.. i just download from sites like magazinesdownload.com

if it interests me...maybe i spend the money to buy and keep.. else, it will be purely see on screen...or read from book shops...
