one thing i didnt like bout mirror finish is, when i hold them, my fingerprint is left out..
2nd i need to handle them carefully bcoz even a single scratch on them will give a tone of pain, while look back at the effort to produce the "mirror"..
what is the best way to main10 'em?.. izzit possible to keep them scratchless?..

I think that's because the bottom layers aren't properly dried before the top layers are applied. CAn't help di.

anyway... no worries because all these can be fixed... i can just resand it until its completely smooth and re
apply the clear coat... and this time wait till the next day.. before reassembling the laptop. That is of course, maybe
after CNY hehehe.. happy new year to all by the way

i got all these guide from the web.. and i found this most uselful http://spiike.shadowdragon.net/laptop%20painting.htm
it took me around one week to dig up all the info about painting, and also riping my laptop with out damaging it...

i skip the last part with the rubbing compound and wax because the paint was already really shining.

well... i'm a gurl? so..?
to get a good paint job.. you just need to be really patient... i mean realllyyyy ...

The next time u redo the clear coat. Dont skip the rubbing compound n wax. But make sure wait for bout 2 weeks for the clear coat to really dry n harden. Then use the rubbing compound n rub like hell. Then wax it. U wont believe the difference it makes to the shine. It'll b really smooth n glossy compared to waht uve achieved so far. What uve done so far, even with the wet sanding, still can see the orange peel effect. I use Eagle 1 car paint wax to maintain the paint on my Ferrari lappy n it really shines as compared to just wiping it with a damp cloth.

i think next time you can buy a heater... assemble a small box...

actually not really a heater, but more like a bulb... like those use in chicken coop...

so that you can dry it faster...

and it will get rid of those dust too...

awesome job. i would like to recommend something though, in case you decide to redo the mod in the future.

the notebook top, with the round thing in the middle of your tribal designs... maybe you could remove it, and fill up the hole with bondo or something, sand it flat and repaint etc, so the round thing doesnt detract from the design, and have a smooth overall finish on the entire panel.
