I dont think so. Kia seems to be providing full spec cars in Malaysia compared to other manufacturers. These cars will be CBU so will probably be full spec. Even the K5 is the full spec version.

Even the current Forte 2.0L is 97K , how can the new model be less than 100K. Surely will be more but it will still be worth it considering the specs on offer and the fact that its slightly bigger than the current model.
*

i referring to 1.6 only as Kia Korea only have 1.6 even for highest spec...
if 1.6 over Rm90k, i may consider other cars instead...

I guess the K3 korea will strip down some of the feature at Malaysia, because seem K3 Korea's feature = K5 Malaysia's feature...
Hence I think Naza wont slap their own face by using new K3 compete with existing K5... doh.gif

when is this coming?

as checked with one of Naza SA, he claimed that may arrive malaysia end of 2013...

Kia K3 are manufactured locally... that why it will rebrand to Naza K3 later...
but still Kia Service Center still will service Naza K3 too as 100% same spec...
at least saved some import tax and have better pricing compare to others... smile.gif

Current Forte is based on Lancer platform with wheelbase 2650mm and height 1460mm. Elantra MD is based on new flat floor, wider, longer and lower platform wheelbase 2700mm. Forte 2013 is based on same new platform as Elantra MD.

Kia Forte 2013 will reach our shore as NAZA only refit the doors to get CKD status. New heart for the Forte K3 will be same 1.6L and 1.8L dual CVVT engine + 6AT in Elantra. News in US will have option for more powerful new 2.0L Nu engine.

Price wise, if no change on current NAP, they'll have to check, compare and consider:
1) Rio sedan 1.6 lowest and highest selling price
2) Forte 1.6 lowest selling price

If result is good, they'll bring in both. Else, 1 will be sacrifice as their mindset always think that having both will cannibalise each other if price gap too close, like RM10k. If they rebadged to NAZA, should price at high spec Elantra 1.6. Without rebadge might sell at Altis 1.6 price. Korean car price no longer cheap nowadays.

My wife is asking for the Hyundai Elantra, but with RM114K price tag with not-so-full-of-accessories, I ask her to wait for Kia K3. Anyone have spec and variant for Malaysia market. A estimate price would be helpful too.

K3 will be at least 10K more than current Forte.

So Forte 1.6SX - 85800, K3 1.6SX would be around 95-96K
Forte 2.0SX - 97800., K3 would be around 107-108K?

Just an estimate. THanks

You compared Sonata vs Optima and Tucson vs Sportage pricing, Kia not wearing NAZA badge are priced higher than its Hyundai counterpart.

Based on latest NAP pricing, Rio 1.6 will be priced at RM90k+, I don't think the K3 1.6 will be priced anyway close to Elantra, could be close to <RM100k low spec. K3 1.8 could be over RM115k, probably at RM118k anytime. Also, there is K3 2.0L new engine. Wonder NAZA will choose to bring in K3 1.6 & 1.8 or like Honda having only 1.8 & 2.0 or like Toyota having all 3 engine sizes.

Thanks for the head up. <120K for premium? Then, my money is going to the one that have more accessories to be offered. Just hoping K3 have more that what Elantra had offer in it premium variant. Based from the Kia Korea site, it just ....wow!!!

If the price exceeds rm86k and it doesn't have all the specs provided by the current 1.6SX Forte, I will not consider the K3.

Somehow I got a feeling Kia is going to go head on competition with the Elantra by selling it between rm96k to rm115k, just a hunch.

I am thinking of waiting for the moment when Kia launches the K3, then the unsold stock of Kia Forte would be given big block discounts.

A reality Malaysians must wake up to. It's a justified asking price for the latest generation of Korean cars.

If that is true then in my opinion its not worth buying. What is the justification to raise the price of forte from rm86k to the new K3 to rm96k? There is no new technology, just face lift. Are you willing paying rm10k extra for the facelift? If you are, then be my guest but I am not paying a cent extra.

Rest assured K3 will be technologically more advance than the current Forte. Bro, if the car is an entirely NEW model from ground up, it is NOT a facelift. Facelift means cosmetic changes to the bumpers, heard lamp or rear combination lamp etc.

Maybe justified by government? Since the Korea car is more and more competitive, threatening other manufacturer in Malaysia, especially P1 and P2. hmm.gif
