soundstage is obvious on the K701 + D2 setup. Its like the instruments came out from no where... you're surrounded by thick layers of mist and instruments sounded from very far, far, quite far, near, quite near... bla bla bla...

Hanzx and I auditioned both the 890 and hp1k during our first meet; no doubt the hp1k beats the 890 more than a mile

I fully understand your love towards the HP890; they are the best for the price you paid, no doubt. But why can't you just accept that there are a handful of headphones out there that outperforms the 890s? Name a few: HP1k, HD600, RS1 (not going to mention anything from AKG here)... Yes, they cost significantly more than the HP890 but in fact they are better performers.

My reply was directed in response to lAh0S' signature: "[WTB] all your unwanted HP890 @ RM80, pm me if you got." I interpret it as: If he has 1 890, I'll buy one from him; if he has 10, i'll buy 10. If he has an abundant supply, i'll buy all. That's what my comment was meant for.

PcWork, again, do note that my reply is responding to IahOS's siggie. Besides, you don't have to tell me you never do this and that; as I never done those before also. Same as you, we both have open minds and willing to accept other's opinions and preferences.

Anyway, can we stop discussing this anymore? Like what you mentioned in your last post; if W5000 cost RM800 and you have RM800 on hand, will you get 10 units of HP890 or get the W5000? Tough call?

When did this pop out? Yaya i'm wrong i'm wrong I didn't know he's going to buy additional 890s to mod. I auditioned IahOS' HP890 during the first meet, and I can tell you honestly, it is very good for a headphone under RM200. In fact if i'm a classical lover i'll pick this over the SR60 anytime. I didn't say HP890 is bad in any of my post above.

As to IahOS, if you're in the middle of searching for your next upgrade, why not take a trip down to S'pore and pay Uncle Jaben a visit? He has tons of headphones lying all over his shop. If all of them fails to satisfy you then you can continue your purchase for more HP890s.

I don't get it why you want to relate me and my AKG. You're going balanced with your HP890, and basically you need a balanced source and a balance headamp as well. They gonna cost significantly much more than your 890s

you use your 890 to beat you dog? Or same as Alamaklor's case: my doggie ate one of the drivers?
