DIY a switch for ur headphone, with 2 plug
connect ur headphone to it to on/off it
switch it off after u use it and on it when u listen to music.

me and dinodog both agreed, hp890 sounds slightly better than SR60. and jigon found out SR60 is better than Hp1000.
so can i conclude that Hp890 is better than HP1000?

and some how, some ppl loved the sound of SR60. some like how philips sound.
myself exposed to sony + philips +senheiser only. grado only listen to SR60 of dinodog.

just tonight feel that audiophile is extremely subjective. no standard at all.
if there's one user wanna look for opinion to buy either SR60, HP890, Hp1000.
and me vs jigon insist what we believe. the user might end up buying 3 pair of headphone...
too subjective... hiaz....and see ppl fighting because wanna argue which one is better... now i rather admit my ear is dumb and cannot hear the different..=P
it's so many things to be different.
like different in player (eg, ipod VS sony ), different place, different song (rock VS classic) even different amp, different cable, different mood,most important is different ear and the only same is the headphone.
and yet we are try to look for one of the best, for all situation, all song, all ear.

sometime i just wonder, are we listen to music, or we listen to headphone?
some time if i like the song, the earphone ok ok one already enough, (eg, she9500?) and i will still sing along when play the song, and i enjoy the music.... if really the song i don't like, give me a 20K headphone also..

to test his mini eph, my cmoy, sr60, hp890 with canare cable, sony 70's headphone (good) and one authetic headphone which is totaly made of steel. hahaha

i usually don't purposely burn my headphone
i will use as normal.

HP400 in my opinion is quite choosey.
and i guess most ppl here already poisoned by HP890/HP895 those open air phone. easier to drive, and sound more airy. easier to accept. =)
HP400 some how better in some part, than my hp890. but i just don't quite appriciate it after i had HP890.
=P not fair though comparing RM 180 with RM 80.

ok HP400 definately win hands down on some classic song, instrument/kennyG
but for overall Hp805 is slightly better,as it got better BASS. so might be easier for lowyat.net ppl to accept.
Hp400 with movie some time can pecah.
and comfortable issue is another problems.
listening HP400 with kenny G is really enjoyable. even beat Hp890 on the midrange , vocal.

koss ksc75 is full size eventhough it looks small. =P
don't know, i prefer koss more than hp805.

i was considering another possiblities which will be :
Significant improvement : buy a USB soundcard (PSC805)
So-so improvement : buy a headamp


if she bought an headamp, she still powering it on AC97 (notebook soundcard) so it will make sound loud only, as the output by ac97 is already quite low quality.
i still thinking, if she using her HP1000 with PC805, it might sound better as pc805 have enough power to push it.

for me, i definately sell HP805 and get 895. that's my choise lah
(my gadget of HP800 really have different yo HP890) u consider loh. i will keep HP890 + koss ksc75

i owned headamp + pc805. for me
playing pc805 + 890 shows improvement a lot. it's more detail, less muffle.
playing it with AC97 have heavy and muffled bass.
and pc805 + basic cmoy + hp890 don't really shows different with PC805 + HP890
i guess pc805 is either :
1. has built in amp chip,
2. powerful enough to drive it.
and about the flat things... amp won't really kacau the sound flat or not, as it is not EQ. amp will only push those things such as bass/high treble nicer, as most player are not powerful enough to drive. if the player /soundcard is powerful enough, then it's has less/no problems on driving those things. so basicly with soundcard, it just push the sound more detail.
i got amp + pc805 + optoplay + hp890 (check my siggy) u can come over my place to test it.
and above statement were made according to my ear, my song, my gadget, and my "feeling" to the song.
=) enjoy ur music pals.
it's most important.
sometime, AC97 + she9500 still make me shake my head as i loved the music.

if those song crap, u give me senheiser HE90 also i won't enjoy lah.

and trust me, i set all my EQ off, all effect all, everythings OFF in listening to my song. =)
sort of enjoy the vocal also.

IMHO, eokboy or thedoctor amp will sound better. according to what i heard lah. =)
how ever, if battery is an issue, PA2V2 is not bad as it run on AA battery rather than 9V.
and it can last really long time.

don't make until those dust goes into diafragma, then u will hear some weired sound when the diafragma is moving.

about the bassy things, i found myself tend to hear some clear voice rather than bass. but i am a freak bass head before. she9500 suit my taste, hp890 + altec lansing ACS295 (ACS45.1 woofer) + logitech Z340.

but now. i found myself love KOSS ksc75 more, the bass of it i think very nice already, then i hear back HP890, hell the bass is so much different, HP890 is so much quantity more bass than koss. but i enjoy the bass of koss ksc75. even after kramer mod (become brighter more than normal koss.)

haha cosmetic flaws also can claim warrenty ah?

hm... what source/soundcard/player u using?
some time, those flac needs u to off all those setting. Flat all EQ. off surround. off 3D then u can notice that it is sweet.
if u tweek eq in winamp then might be the problem.
give us more info then maybe someone around here can figure it out.
