HI to all Sifus... I've post some comment in the main page but seems like I posted on the wrong section... Hope I can get some good advice here since I'm still new in this...

Last weekend I went to change my player. Initially thought only want to change my player because the Iswara stock unit "Blaupankt" is already dead. So I went to check out at one of the shop recommended by my Father-in-law whom he changed all his car (2 cars) CD player there. Before this I was thinking of getting the Pioneer 7570 or something around that range that comes with the promo with 1 pair of speaker.

When talked to the boss, he keep pushing me the 1450 model which is quite cheap. But my thought is if it's that cheap the quality might not be that good. So in the end I get a Pioneer 2450UB. After talking to the boss for about 5 minutes, I kena poison to change a pair of JBL GT5-963... sweat.gif

So, sifus, Any comment in this setup? Anyone have this type of setup?

I found the sound is not... em how to put it, no very clear. The bass is there (very deep base) but it seems like when i turn down the mid, it sounds a bit soft, but when i tune up the mid it might cover the treble.

So what is the recommended setup here sifus? Now kena poison already but the quality not really up to my expectation... Does putting an amp help? Tweeter? Please help sifussss... notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Right now you're happy with the bass but cant hear the singer.
Its soft because the "tweeter" is 3ft behind you.

My opinion at this point is to sell the JBL and get yourself a proper component speaker set (tweeter+midbass+crossover= google got a lot of pictures). maybe the boss will let you trade in with minimal loss. Try to see if you can 'upgrade' to comps with no loss.

Otherwise turn down the bass till it matches your treble then volume up.
Clarity isnt there simply because your 2way JBL is, er how do I say this, isnt built for clarity no matter how much you tune.

An amp will only make things worse.
Might wanna look around the ICE threads for recommended brands instead of simply whacking something like an Ameron tomoro.

Thanks Krayden. But mine is a 3 way speaker not 2 way. The bass is impressively good though biggrin.gif haha... If with an additional tweeter in front will it be better?

Any other suggestions from other sifus?

laugh.gif Sorry, but I cannot help but laughing non-stop.

Krayden guess your speaker wrongly, but your reply make it worst.

Your setup is not wrong, but definitely cannot give you what you want - Balance.
(I use balance so to put it in a nice word~ laugh.gif)

Adding tweeter, will not help and might even get you more into dilemma. But hey, your money and it is never wrong to try.

MyWifeCar, so what is your recommendation for somthing to make it more balance if the speaker is to remain?

I'm just a newbie and don't wish to invest too much for start. Just wish to make use of the existing equipment to make it sound better. If adding minor equipment to enable it sounds better, please please please tell me and I will start to save for that smile.gif Hope sifu can shed some lights as I saw you are quite active here and I believe you have much experience here.

2way, 3way, 4way...... even if its 10way speaker, its still one pair. Fact remains, its not built for clarity. will just give a bit better midbass due to larger surface.

Come to think of it, you got poisoned by this?

Never thought of getting answers from enthusiast in such a way... The speaker was recommended by the boss. As I'm not into this ICE thingy and nobody to ask about. Been doing searching around and Google around. Even asked also didn't get any response and now getting this response. REALLY FUNNY...

Boss suggest get that as he wants money. Doubt he cares much about user satisfaction. You got it done at an accessory shop?

nobody died bro sweat.gif

anyway, yeah your previous thread was posted in the wrong section. The replies you got were mostly kopitiam-style and they don't know much about ICE since this is FNF after all.

At least now you have a rough direction of where to head, which is to install a front component speaker smile.gif

Bro, don't lar easily offended... You should read their reply upside down, then it will make sense to you.

Most of the forumers here are old uncles with big belly and shinny top, so they are a bit cranky.

I'm still in my 20's so I guess my answer can help you a lot, may I know your budget to improve from current situation please?

Thank you guys for the comforting words.

Mywifecar. Let's just put aside first how much more that I want to throw into ICE. If your r in my situation now with this setup, what would u do to improvise the quality? Assuming the component speaker will help? But why this speaker will help as compare to the 3way spk? Hope someone can sharesomens info or reading material perhaps I don't know how to search.

Secondly why do u say with a pair of twitter will make thing worse? Hope you can enlighten me. Or perhaps someone can provide some tips as guideline to newbie like me for future before jumping into this without much guide like me. For long term purpose for the sake of others benefit too. Thank you guys.

If you're adding a tweeter in front, you'll just hear the highs, mids will be missing, might as well get a component set. In practice, components sounds better than coaxials(like yours) as they are often made with better materials, handle more power, have superior crossovers and produce better midbass than coaxials.

I was in a similar spot last time. I bought a Pioneer 6x9 coaxial to put in my rear. Sold it off just after 1 month and upgraded my front components. What an upgrade it was!
