QUOTE(lucifah @ Sep 8 2012, 08:26 AM) i was listening to traxx fm (yes, i have shity radio in soviet sarawak, no hiz, mix, era, or whatsoever) about this car show co-hosted by JPJ senior, che mat, and yesterday it was about cheap superbikes with foreign plates applicable to those working overseas.. like myself and bro monaz he has a very interesting fact: even with proper documents and all shit and that, the bike can only be used for max 3 months in a year in malaysia road (anyone can confirm or did i hear wrong?) and with whasoever documents and connection you have, foerign registered bike cannot be in malaysia longer than 3 months. JPJ has record and they WILL go after you. and due to insurance issues, only the registered bike owner (meaning someone foreign or someone with foreign PR) can ride the bike at any time huhuh... put a damper to many who called to ask about cheap super bikes advertised in our local internet websites... so, lesson learnt: pay corrupt AP holders to import your bike on the cheap. and oh another thing, every malaysian citizen is granted ONE AP PER LIFETIME, provided he can proof he has worked overseas for at least 9 months. this one very interesting... |

QUOTE(kapalterbang_737 @ Sep 9 2012, 08:19 AM) It might be, since i've heard few people using this technique to get a cheaper car/bike and usually it was used for cars from Singapore. In fact 1 of my friend did offer me a Malaysian car but was originated from Singapore. Well people will do anything to get what they want yeah man... if the S1000RR definitely will get taxed higher.. lowest also the 2010 model..my friend brings back a Honda CBR1000RR 2006, cost him around RM30k all in to bring it back here from the US He just sold it last month for RM54k If u can afford to buy the S1000RR, u should go with it. But prepare to have a higher tax Last time the agent that handles the shipment said there's 1 Harley (not sure what model, year 2011) still haven't cleared the tax which cost RM26k Yup R1 04-06 if i would bring back a S1000RR, it will definitely for personal use at least for a few years? haahha... unless butt itchy looking for upgrades.. but i believe any bikes that u bring in, as long as AP is free.. it would definitely be a few 10k cheaper then u buy in malaysia.. so still worth it Added on September 10, 2012, 12:07 pmhaha guys, how come i cannot do multiple replies d? lyn disable it to prevent flood? QUOTE(phobian @ Sep 10 2012, 08:03 PM) Be very alert when you deal with helmets online. Many do not deal with size exchange, even if they do - you gotta pay for its logistics. Most of the helmet sizing charts ask you to measure your cap size. My cap size is 57.5cm, but on my Arai - I wear a S which is meant for 55-56cm hat size and it is a very snug fit. My other helmets is on M (57-58cm). yes truly.. never ever buy a helmet online unless u had personally tried an actual one on..What I am trying to say is that besides your cap size, there is also your head size (position where you view your head from the top - birds eye view). 2nd thing you need to consider is also your facial contour. Just remember that we humans have different ethnicity and we have different head forms. If you want a good helmet with a good fit, try it on off the shelf or get permission from other bikers around to try their helmets. So far, I have not bought any helmets online as I would want my money well spent unless it is a model of helmet I have owned before. I believe icecolddamncold can vouch for this. for my case, ordered a Shoei helmet from STG, anxiously waiting it for one month and when it reaches my hand.. put it on.. DAMN!! too tight.. i fit well on most L size helmet and my head circumference measured at 59cm which falls on size L. its not only the head circumference that u need to consider when getting a helmet, diff ppl diff head size and we'r saying round-oval or long-oval and bla bla bla.. diff helmet offers different compatibility to head sizes. im in your shoes as well because of where im residing, hardly any descent shops to try on helmets.. thus i gambled on my Shoei at first and i lose.. gambled on another Xlite and bingo however, u can refer to this website where i find it quite useful when u'r researching for helmets: http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-hel...lmet-shapes.htm get a rough idea of it.. but best is still try it on personally. |

QUOTE(qqmeng @ Sep 11 2012, 11:52 AM) take it easy bro.. actually for sizing, u can always contact DC Bikers. he can advise u pretty good and just in case u didnt get the right size, he's always open for return.. quite good customer service i can say.. only downside is that he's always out of stock, either color or sizes.. let me guess, he must have really good business |

QUOTE(qqmeng @ Sep 12 2012, 03:20 PM) competition is good for consumers.. i personally rate Rika Bikeshop as the better customer service as she attend to ur questions very fast and willing to do COD within klang valley area even though she stays in nilai DC a bit slow but his price is the most competitive one and for those located outside Penang, only postage but his postage is fast |

excuse myself for lack of technical knowledge on bikes.. still learning
just wanna check.. let's say u mod ur exhaust system to a slip-on aftermarket exhaust like Two-Brothers, so what i understand is due to that when u change ur exhaust to an aftermarket slip on especially those good ones like two brothers, akrapovic, yoshimura and so on.. it will tend to increase ur horsepower by 1 or 2hp more.. is it actually necessary to map ur bike with a power commander so as that ur bike will allow smoother fuel adjustment and maximise the use of ur newly slipped on exhaust system? or is it advisable to install a power commander for it? pls advise, thinking of replacing my current leo-vince slip on which is already attached when i got my bike with probably a two-brothers |

QUOTE(monaz @ Sep 13 2012, 02:13 PM) Leo Vince - U already have among the best aftermarket exhaust esp the SBK series. im not too sure whether my current LV is the SBK series or not.. it does sounds good, but a lil bit too quiet for an aftermarket exhaust » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Added on September 13, 2012, 2:15 pm » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Safe ride always bro LOUD PIPES SAVES LIVES what do u mean by checking the bike system? whether how digital is it? header means the one that usually comes with the full system? any markets out there actually selling headers only? hahaha.. darn u make me itchy wanna try full system.. but one thing im worried about here is that the competency of the mechanics here.. in which how competent are they to actually mod a full system on my bike, and map my bike on a dynojet PC maybe can get my contacts from thailand and get them mod it for me Akra.. every bikers dream exhaust i could say haha.. its nice to own one too but saw it online only a Akra slip on cost about US$700++ on fuel consumption, after u install slip-on, it does affect the FC, thus the PC is best to be paired and it can helps improving the FC coz u get to do some fuel adjustment on the PC.. correct me if im wrong |

QUOTE(monaz @ Sep 13 2012, 04:31 PM) Like Yamaha R1/R6, the servo on the exhaust is connected to ECU. Once removed, you need to fool the ECU about the missing servo, thus necessary to install servo eliminator plug or DIY if you can. On your bike, check the service manual on parts that you going to dismantle in removing stock exhaust. oh never know that PC is so easy to map haha.. problem is with the competency in installing full system.. i dont wanna risk my bike blowing up half way Yeah header normally come in full set of exhaust system. Just check if you can find header section of your bike model but as you said, Loud Pipes Saves Lives, get that full system. PC setup need no competent mechanics. It is designed bikers friendly. Just download the necessary map, connect your laptop, upload the map and voila.. If you cannot find the required map with what you have, you can always send them email with details of your mod and they will provide you the nearest suitable map. Unless you are thinking about adjusting your fuel curve, individual cylinder adjustment or setting the throttle position, u need pro tuner to do this. Check your cans if the silencer removed or not. I removed both Added on September 13, 2012, 4:35 pm Absolutely. Still restriction unless going full system. And wait for your neighbor HD sounds maybe i shud check whether my silencer is removed or not by the way bro monaz, for the header, is it necessary that i get back a LV header to pair it with my LV slip-on? |

QUOTE(monaz @ Sep 13 2012, 06:26 PM) Necessary if you want to full utilize the map for a set of exhaust system. Different header with different mid pipe and end canister? haha i think its quite hard if just looking to buy a LV header for my 2004 CBR1000RR rite?If you buy a full system for a specific bike, normally not much chaos for installation. Normally no mounting bracket modification. As easy as slips on. Only need tools like torque wrench with long extension, spring puller and some other basic tools afraid that end up hv to buy the usual full system package which includes the exhaust and sell off my current LV slip on.. really hv no idea what is needed to install a full system |

QUOTE(sanosizo @ Sep 17 2012, 02:42 PM) k=2000 thus k8 = bike manufactured in 2008, doesn't matter how many cc, at least that's what I understand. because my bike (650cc) was manufactured 2008 and in the manual the code name was k8. but it's commonly used for 1 liter models only. must be hidden from the officers? goshh i plan to just carry it inside the helmet bag.. what will they do if they just caught me carrying the helmet so obvious? dont tell me they will confiscate it It is possible to hand carry your helmet but it must be hidden from the officers. i think i better just checked in the helmet.. |
