It was a pleasure to have you as company and how is the new Hayden breaking in? Sold my Hayden yesterday, despite the wicked graphics, matte colour and all - but I will be back to HK from time to time to get more stuffs for personal use or for my riding buddies. So my guess is that he will be the very few in town alongside with you to own the 27 Sept 2012 helmet.

Benefit of others not knowing how the new Hayden looks like - here goes

Am still hunting for that 2010 helmet that I have always set my eyes on...

Sharing some insights on HK & Macau superbike scenes.

1. HK Police uses BMW 2 wheelers - R1200RT for the newer bikes.
2. Hondas are quite popular in HK & Macau
3. Macau Police uses VFR800 or 1200 as their wheel machines
4. Both HK & Macau police's bikes does not have that much bling compared to what we have here
5. Big cc 2 wheelers are not commonly seen or used as a runabout machine - they rather use scooters or mopeds due to traffic congestion
6. Both HK & Macau has not enough stretches for big cc bikes - everything is just a short sprint and my guesstimate is that we can hardly even use 4th gear.

so bro phobian u'r back!!! hahaha its my pleasure to go around with u also, especially hunting for gears thumbup.gif though i have time constraint, nevertheless still enjoyed it.. hope i would have more time next time around to actually go around everything..

do u think its possible for the aunty in Hung Hing to specially order the 2010 helmet for u?

Seems to me not much difference from the previous ZX6R eh. Take your pick - white or green?

Who could resist that new Hayden's graphics at that price we got it for. Anyway, it was not my intention to sell but since he always wanted an Arai so my as well just sell it off since I go there off & on.

Sure - let me know what you need and see if I can help. You should have just bought that helmet...

haha who knows i might just get that as a spare helmet tongue.gif lemme know when r u going hk again laugh.gif

i'll see how, if budget permits then im on! i mean tumpang u to get that for me.. of coz not forgetting if u still have spare baggage to fit in my helmet cool2.gif

Thanks bro for the info..i will have to 'puasa' from riding for 3 months  tongue.gif

My trip to HK is just around the corner, this Saturday to be exact.. Will stay at Metropark Mongkok...
Anyway how much roughly is the price of Arai helmets there? because i can't find price in their website..
if it is really cheap i might get my 1st Arai to replace my Shoei that i wore when i crashed..

bro icecolddamncold u want to tumpang buy something?  brows.gif
*
good to hear from u again kapalterbang.. hope u'r recovering rapidly biggrin.gif

Since that u stay in Mongkok, its more advisable that u take a cab to Hung Hing (arai), which cost me about HKD30+ from the MTR at Mongkok. then from Hung Hing, take a cab to Motomart as well, which will cost around HKD30+ as well. not too expensive i could say. as the places above are not so accessible via MTR.

ok price wise for:

1) RX7-RR5 : HKD5690

2) Astro-IQ : HKD4690

other lower models im not too sure and cant rmb the price d lol..

haha thanks but im out of my budget currently, too many purchases lately.. totally KO-ed sweat.gif

i hope u can get a cart-full of gears when u'r back from HK.

oh ya the Dainese boots in Motomart is CHEAP brows.gif

Look what I brought back from Macau! Just kidding.

Bike arrived on late Wednesday evening, was hoping to ride her on Sunday morning. Could not get the bike registered in time, so brought her back hoping that everything to be sorted out coming Monday.

Just whack only.

Took the 636 for a ride this morning. Some mini review and thoughts of my own

What I do not like:
1. Stock screen is crap! Tucked in and the screen is parallel to my eyes/viewport. Irritating as hell
2. Riding position seems a lill aggressive for a supersports. Comparing to the others, the 636's handlebar seems lower
3. Torque, virtually none compared to my Z1000. No more sudden adrenaline rush
4. The all new exhaust system is VERY restrictive! It is said that this 636 engine is churning out 130hp, put it on a dyno and the result is 109whp with 6kg of torque
5. Stock ecu maps pulls through to 14.5K rpm and then power is cut off gradually to redline
6. By changing to a slip-on with straight flow mid pipe - very very minimal horsepower gains. Be prepared to be disappointed. Torque increased by 0.6kgs and comes in earlier. Again, this is due to issue #4. Save your money for a full system or be prepare to gut the header.

What I like:
1. Brakes, the Nisin monoblock calipers and 310mm paired with Brembo RCS19 seriously provides one heck of a stopping power and feedback. Mind you, I had upgraded to 310mm disc with upgraded brake pads on my Z1000 - and the 636 performs much much better
2. Gearbox - the new gearbox does wonders! I have never felt gear changes so smooth. Shit you not, comparing to the previous zx6ses it is a major improvement where me & many others that tried the bike vouch for this
3. Clutch - with the servo assist, clutching in and out is now effortless. Super light, but problem is lack of tension feedback where if you want to feel the grip when clutching out. The slipper clutch also does wonders, I have tried downshifting without clutching in and it is bloody smooth
4. Power, smooth delivery of power all the way to 14K rpm. So far no experience of flat spots
5. Shares many parts with the previous 09-11 ZX6R
*
great review u got there for everyone that's considering the 636 rclxms.gif

well, as far as my technical knowledge allows me to comment, except for the torque, others are all modifiable, no? and im sure that u'r sure gonna mod it into a badass ninja tongue.gif

how i wish there's some modification that can be done to my current bike. no one here is competent enuf for me to go to and would not want to risk my bike in the hands of an unsound mechanic doh.gif

still got tonnes to learn on minor technical modifications/improvements sweat.gif

I think most sportsbike does not have that handle for pillion - notice that my 636 also does not come with it.

When push the bike backwards, I would walk-reverse using my hip resting on the tank for counter weight and slowly push the bike backwards with both hands on the handlebar. Normally I would do this on the left hand side of the bike. Why do I do this? Coz I am short & lack of arm brute force. Though it look silly and very amateur, but I just heck it.

But if the surface is flat, then I would just push the bike backwards with my right hand supporting the back seat.
*
im afraid of walk-reversing my bike too, if the surface allows, i would rather hop onto it and do the casual on-bike reversing sweat.gif more confidence on that.. if there's slopes, then no choice hv to push it d..

there's normally a strap that runs over the back seat

user posted image

normally i saw ppl will grab on the strap (to act like a handle) and pushes their bike..

for the jacket and riding pants - this one a bit odd out

a good riding jacket = rm 1,000

but a good racing suit = at least rm 3,000+

makes lots of diff if some ppl include racing suit as jackets + pants
*
if someone has racing suits then just considered it as one set of jacket and pants lo brows.gif

probably bringing in some bike apparels for sale, more on leather suits (2-piece or 1-piece) or mesh jackets brows.gif

Let me share with you my personal experience. Back in March or April 2010, I bought my first big cc bike - a 2007 Kawasaki Z750. Paid full in cash with it - got my friend to ride it back as I have no experience riding bikes, except for 6 days in total of renting scooters in Krabi - period! You should see the look of the shop owner as he thought I was kidding about no experience riding bike - he look either anxious as if I am going to kill myself with that machine or thinking this dude is a real idiot. Within 2-3 months, I practise both on the Z750 and riding school. I only clocked a total of 4 hours of riding school and I was all set for the exam - and got my B-full license. Again, I had an upper advantage coz I have my own bike to practise on.

Trust me, if an idiot like me can do it - I truly believe anyone else could do so. To put it into another perspective, Malaysia motorcycle license is one of the easiest to pass in the world. I have nothing against you or anyone paying your way through - but to do it legit sure gives you a better self satisfaction.
*
+999

for myself, i had no big bike license neither do i had bigbike experience prior to this (except for kapcaiz) coz i only start picking up my riding passion 1 year+ back when i came over to where i am now laugh.gif license requirement is not compulsory here (pretty cool eh) but i will definitely go through the legit way in obtaining a bigbike licence when im back to msia one day biggrin.gif

might as well master ur skills through an approved driving school rather than screwing up urself and ur bike on the road doh.gif consider the consequences when u managed to get a kopi-o licence but then ZERO skills in riding/handling ur newly purchased bigbike in real situation?
