Great! Will try a clean install of 8.1 on my XPS tonite. How's the battery life compare to stock?

LoL, I've installed v8.1 last nite and this morning v9.0 was released. Installing now.

Finished installing 9.0~ so far so good. Love the Xperia V camera, lotsa of features compared to stock; Picture Effect, Superior Auto (if I recalled correctly, Xperia Z camera also have this Superior Auto feature).

My XPS feels like new again. LoL. Good ROM to play around till XPZ launch.

Jelly Bean update has been planned for Xperia S, should be out in April. Now it's on ICS 4.0.4 since June 2012, with a 100% working leaked Official Jelly Bean Home Launcher by Sony (this gives access to certain new features like 7 home screens, different scrolling animation, can create folder in apps drawer, an updated dock, etc.). At RM1000 this is the best phone you can get, to me the camera produce a more natural colour photo, however the noise level at low light is quite high.

first time user of this phone?
to save your frustration in dealing with the 3 capacitive buttons,
take not that the buttons are NOT at the transparent stripe.
it is also NOT exactly at the 3 dots too

it is actually ABOVE the 3 dots and BELOW the screen.
in other words, BETWEEN the 3 dots and the screen.

to ensure 100% strike on the buttons, do a swipe up motion from the dots to the screen.

this is a terrible design, and sony fixed it in the newer xperias.
i duno which xperia i saw in sony shop, i think its a cheaper but newer model, the capacitive buttons is at the transparent stripe, which is much much easier to hit.

anyway, its a great phone after you get used to the capacitive buttons.

No offense but all it does is gives new users a headache. It's been condemn in several review sites. If the design is that good they wouldn't have change it in newer models.

Anyway thanks to your swipe suggestion, my mom stop complaining bout the buttons now, she absolutely hated it on the first few days due to keep missing the buttons.

tried it... no luck though.... according to my sis, the 2g maxis keep disappering every now and then.... also weird is that that 2g digi is there...
so that kinda make me wonder if this phone is locked to digi sim card only...

I still prefer the current design. Kinda differentiate it from other smartphone. Nowadays, design are too generic.

ok finally get a hold of digi xps from my sister....
did that... still show Emergency call... put in my digi sim card straight away work with no problem... can call and use data...
checked it already... everything is zero... so its not locked right?

already change to new micro sim from maxis... what else is the problem?
do i need to unlock the bootloader?

I recently obtained a SL from senQ which came with 1 screen protector inbox before unboxing. there is no description whether if this is an anti-scratch or anti-shock or both since there is no box content list. google and some say got some say no depending on country region and package i guess.

Just wanna know what screen is this as i had swype issue with the build-in keyboard. it is not smooth enough and easily stained with fingerprints and etc making it worst to control. pressing button is fine only when swype or sliding.

google some say there is already 1 pre-applied to the screen so now scared that i applied the spare which explain why it is not smooth.
