Hey guys, I just bought a new Xperia S yesterday.

Now I wanna unlock the bootloader, read the guides. Failed to install S1Boot Fastboot driver on my computer, how to reinstall it?

This is phone driver? How about the Fastboot?

We are proud of providing the unlock feature to the developer community. Previously, there was a large risk of bricking the phone when unlocking with third party software. Sony Mobile’s solution remove’s that risk. When we initially provided the unlock feature, it was presumed that only highly skilled developers and super-users would take advantage of it. From blogs and discussion boards, it was clear that the community understood the risks and that unlocking largely voided the warranty. It appears that less sophisticated users (despite all our warnings) might be using the feature, and are now surprised by the consequences.

Wow so unlocking the bootloader uninstalls ALL apps on the phone?!! I was considering buying this but with knowing this now, no way also warranty is void if i use the OFFICIAL unlocking tool? sony's really trying its best to "support" it's fans/developer community.

says who? htc, motorola and others release their unlocked bootloaders and warranties aren't voided. warranties are voided only when u root the phone which is different from unlocking the bootloader. more so they dont uninstall existing apps when u unlock the bootloader.

Hi, I just bought an Xperia S. But I cannot seem to detect my home's Unifi wifi. I can detect all my neighbours wifi, about 3 other neighbours, but my own Unifi wifi I totally cannot detect.

hi  been using xperia s for approx 3 months, i have this issue that whenever i answer calls the backlight will auto OFF after few seconds.. Then when i wanna hang up the back light never turn on.. even i touches/tap the screen (to end the call) the screen still appears black. Every time i have to press the unlock button at the top then only i can end the call    why so not user friendly...

does anyone faces this problem.. 

  its all becoz of the proximity sensor.  Thanks..

Any issue with ICS on the XPS? I read before someone stated it the ICS make it run on single core only or some issue on audio?

friend your 2.3.7 firmware got problem stuck at half way flashing !! i try hk firmware no problem

sony even forgot to highlight the higher-dpi-than-retina screen when it was 1st announced.
if i m not mistaken, xperia s was the highest dpi screen that time..
