Dear Geek8585,

"Accessories mode" (press START button without pressing brake) = in conventional car, this is similar to turning the ignition key to I. Engine does not start but you can use radio, CD, headlights, telephony.
"Press Brake+START Button" = starts the car engine. In conventional car, you turn the ignition key to II+a further twist for 1~2 seconds.

see picture here: http://www.techguys.ca/howto/images/ignition.jpg
OFF -> Accessories (I) -> ON (II) -> START (1~2 seconds hold). After the car starts, the ignition key stays at II.

Hope the above explains.
*
super details... really thanks a lot... by the way, if i'm in accessories mode, can i just start the engine straight away by pressing brake+start button? hmm.gif

Dear bro geek8585, Are you still using BHP or found another petrol that is better? So far I use Shell RON95 and i could feel the CVT has very tiny jerking which I don't like. My previous 10yr old Honda City iDSI with CVT didn't have any jerking at all and it also uses Shell petrol with Shell Semi-syn engine oil.

So I hope to find a petrol that suits the Honda's mineral oil (idemitsu, i think). Which Honda engine oil are you using?
*
yes, i have jerking with Shell 95 as well... FYI, i am at my first 1k with my HCH... already clock 960km ad, maybe after cny will go for service flex.gif

my friend said BHP 95 is the best for minimise the jerking but it is still there... it is the CVT.. perhaps, i share some tips with you guys... when you are approaching a stop... try half press brake pedal, lift up for 1-1.5sec and half press again... then when come to the stop, only fully press... you will notice the jerking is gone !!! rclxms.gif ofcourse, don't do this at an emergency brake yea...

by the way, what is the stock oil that come with our new car? many HCH owner claimed that after change 0w20 on the car, it became like kind of lost of power hmm.gif

what you guys opt to use? 5w30 or 0w20?

Haha, you may find us on Facebook via "Honda Civic 9th Gen Club Malaysia"

if Honda Msia discontinue I think we should sad about this...
but for my point of view, honda not likely to discontinue hybrid and it will continue sell with after tax price tag, just like wat happen on FD hybrid first launched.
*
alright then... i think i already in that FB group..

we shall wait for the announcement after CNY... hmm.gif
if really discontinue, HCH and CRZ spare part will be damn expensive... sweat.gif

If discontinued. Try to be proud owners lah. Because others got money also can't buy Civic Hybrid. They have to stick with Prius C or Jazz Hybrid only. We love Civic Hybrid bcoz it is sportier mah. Hee hee hee.

Spare parts ... I thought can get from Thailand. Shouldn't be too expensive. Our Civic Hybrid 2013 came from Thailand.
*
there is a forumer i know... spoilt 1 side of rear lamp only... cost RM1.1k blink.gif throat cutting...

i still love my HCH... by the way, i'm now on the real full tank of BHP and i would say avoid Shell at all cost, definitely something is wrong with their petrol... BHP is much much much more smoother and less jerking !!! whistling.gif

anyway, have a prosperous CNY for the HCH owners over here... enjoy the holiday and drive safe for who are travelling flex.gif

Anyone done any soundproofing to reduce tyre noise? I sat at the back seats and I could hear the tyre noise is noisier at the back compared to the front.
*
rear trunk soundproof should be able to solve your problem... smile.gif

After first oil change at 10k, use 0W-20 as suggested by Honda. I felt the car somehow lost power.
*
appreciate if you can share the FC...

using 0w20 confirm will lost power compare to the mineral oil due to the oil density...
perhaps, 5w40 might be a better choice? smile.gif

Car lost power but FC seems reduced also. Before 10k oil change, averagely city drive at 17.x km/l. Now can run on 18.x-19.x km/l. If the city drive does not involve a lot of full stop, just crawling smoothly at 30-50kmh, the FC can be 23km/l.
*
yes, 0w20 is specially blend for hybrid cars... definitely will be better in terms of FC...

but i just wondering is it 5w40 suitable for the hybrid... my house myvi with 5w40 eneos doing very well...

and the density of 5w40 is thicker, hence better protection for the engine from wear and tear... smile.gif

is the power lost very significant?

Honda told me that the 5w40 is RM199 while 0w40 is RM129  hmm.gif and yes they also recommend the 5w40 for better protection especially for Honda Type R. So its up to customer to choose.

Power loss is kinda significant to me. However ride is smooth after it has picked up the speed, example cruising at 90-110kmh.
*
yea, the grip is not there for the engine piston to pick up...

but i am quite suprise with the price tag if the oil... i think i gonna tried on 5w40... since my monthly mileage wont exceed 1500km, guess wont be a big impact for me in terms of FC tongue.gif

it doesnt have to do much with what lubrication your engine is fitted with. the most important factor in acquiring amazing numbers in terms of fc is still how well you control your right foot. i can get 21km/l no prob if i keep the speedo green even with 5w40. yes if you use the 0w20 getting those 20-21 figures are easier but your engine is not at its optimum performance and it wont be good to acc hard while using low vososity oils such as 0w20 as the wear and tear are greater. im an engineer and these are just my two cents. go for the premium oil and you will have a healthier engine for a longer duration. smile.gif
*
i noticed you are actually recommended 5w40... biggrin.gif

i found 5w40 really works like charm for my myvi with acceptable FC... however, 5w40 can work well with the CVT or not then i need to test it out first... 5w40 cost a lot more compare to the 0w20...

Hi guys,

Need some clarification. Is CBU-Japan HCH has rain-sensor wipers function? The honda salesman keep saying that features is available for japan spec and not thai spec.

thanks.
*
thai version did come with these features... there is knob for u to twist (rain sensitivity) at your wiper switch (left handside) right? hmm.gif

After 3 months of driving HCH, now with 3000+ km mileage, Engine oil is still factory Honda mineral oil(not changed yet). Tried Shell, BHP, Caltex.

100% highway for 400km at 95-115km/h speed, can only manage around 16.9km/l at best with ECON ON. Driving gently and smooth.
100% highway driving for 300km at 120-150km/h, ECON OFF, **Agressive acceleration and speeding**. I get 12.5km/l.
100% in KL city driving (speed up to 60km/h) with traffics stops around Kepong area. Around 14km/l. ECON ON and non agressive driving.
80%HW, 20%city KL Kepong-Ikea-LCCT driving (speed up to 110km/h) with very little traffics stops (mostly only Toll Booth stop). Around 15.7km/l. ECON OFF, non agressive driving.
100% Penang city driving with a lot of traffic stops around Georgetown. around 14km/l or less. non agressive driving with ECON OFF.
100% Penang city driving with a lot of traffic stops around Georgetown. 12.8km/l or less. **Agressive** driving with ECON OFF.

Give me you thoughts.
*
hmm... can we conclude that actually the ECON button does help by a little bit?

i saw people who achieve 20km/L in previous post... are you guys using the 0w20? hmm.gif

1. 16.3km/l - 30% HW, 70% City - Econ ON, Shell
2. 17.4km/l - 50% HW, 50% City - Econ ON, Shell
3. 17.9km/l - 50% HW, 50% City - Econ ON, Petronas
4. 19.1km/l - 70% HW, 30% City - Econ ON, Petronas

My driving style is not aggressive and milage is 1700km using stock EO.
