Booked my HCH last week and submitted doc for loan approval today. It was the last unit CBU from Japan. Test drive uphill and can feel it is really lack of power. But wat to do this is the characteristic of hybrid vehicle so far available in msia market.

S gear will give more power, also can off eco-mode button

Am really looking into the civic hybrid now, but I am really worried about the battery and whether it will give me problems in the near future, seeing some forums complaining that it's unreliable and Honda doesn't take much responsibility?? The petrol consumption really thrills me but if the battery is gonna cost me inconvenience then it's not worth it. I know there's a 5 year warranty but would they really replace it or take their sweet time to repair and find parts etc?
I also understand that as of now, there are no more CBU Japan, but Thailand instead. Is there really a big difference?
Or should I just get the civic 1.8 and be done with??? Any help/advise soon would be great, planning to get it this week. haha

From the 1st launch of Hybrid car in Malaysia, Toyota Prius, the battery cost RM14.5K, but today if u step into Toyota service center n interview those Prius owner, changing a battery just cost u around RM7K including installation fees. It is almost half price compare to 6 years ago. For me, the HCH battery now cost RM6Kplus but after 5 years who knows it will drop half price too? And the battery is getting smaller sizes and last longer? I m driving a HCH and i m very sastified with my HCH. It deliver enough power for me when up hill, very low FC when driving highway and fanstic feeling when hands on the staring.

I heard that buying the civic hybrid now will leave me devastated now since there'll be a new facelift this year? Is the one now the 9th generation? The one's that dropped from the Consumer report or something?

QUOTE(whutsoever @ Apr 25 2013, 11:43 AM) Oh ok, what made you choose 1.8 over the hybrid? The spec for hybrid is much much better than 1.8, and almost same price, very tempted to get the hybrid but these made me choose 1.8 over hybrid. - CVT gearbox has less fun to drive - hybrid, which I worry it will soon be replace buy full electric and hybrid become obselate. Wanted to get 2.0 but the price is too much different, with additional feature I want on 2.0 is only paddle shift.
