Thanx Funderland, btw what kind of model can i buy from there? and price range around rm1k or what?
*
you can find a lot of model train here. We mainly in scale Ho and scale N. Price range depends on train model, and analogue or digital. If analogue will be cheaper, below 1k or slight about 1k we also have. But digital one will be a bit expensive, around 2k.

nvm. actually i'm looking for Digital diesel locomotive set. HO scale. any suggestion?
*
Yes. Depends on your budget. I will suggest you, Roco Digital Startset 41273. It's is “Epoche III“) of the Deutsche Bundesbahn, this starter set offers a model E 10.3 locomotive with digital controls and additional digital functions. In addition to of fering a wide range of sound functions, the digital controls can also be used to raise and lower the pantograph.

It also come with 3 passenger cab which you can control the light and door. If you buy the passenger cab alone, each cost you about RM900, but with this digital startset, it come with 3 passenger cab, so you save a lot.

Later I will put on some picture for this set

Actually is more depends on what kind of model train you wish to collect. If analogue set, is much more cheaper. But digital one, because of you can control a lot of different effect, so the prize is quite high

Random question. How does the train create the chimney smoke effect?
*
There is a smoke generator inside. But you have to insert some oil for it to generate smoke.

This is the smoke generator we use, Smoke generator Roco HO scale 40160

Interesting. I tot it would use maybe water to create the smoke.

Wow, looks like we need a big area to setup even the basic train model.
*
If HO scale at least you need about 3' x 5', if N scale I think at least you need 2'x 4'...

If you are around Singapore, you might also try this new shop:  Singapore Railways Pte Ltd
They sell H0-models [exact scale 1:87] and Garden Railways [scale 1:22.5]; so far European ones only with 2 years warranty; from different manufacturers.

Quite a number of actual H0-starterkits on stock with Swiss, Dutch, French, Austrian and German trains; digital and analogue.

Uff ... numerous trains, coaches, goods cars and accessories also on stock ;-) They can also do digital modifications and maintenance.

If you want to know the stories behind models, technologies and history ... this seems an interesting place to visit  smile.gif

I think most of Singaporean will play N scale one, due to the space prob

Added on May 17, 2012, 5:51 pmA Birmingham Dribbler or normally known as "carpet railway" were the earliest model railways in the 1840s. It is a bit of a misnomer, as the railway featured a model live steam railway locomotive, but no track – the locomotive was simply run across the floor. The nickname of Birmingham Dribblers (or sometimes "Piddlers") because large numbers of them were made in Birmingham and they had the unfortunate habit of leaving a trail of water behind them as they ran across the floor.

i'm using MRC prodigy advance 2 DCC controller on my layout. my locomotives (all are american) are from bachmann, intermountain, atlas, proto 2000 and a few very old DC engines which i had converted them to DCC by myself. all are working fine on my MRC controller, no problem at all. 1 of the problem you might encounter will be different types of coupler but it can be easily customized/fixed.

again, it all depends on your preferences such as type of diesels and their era. as for me i'm not so particular about era, i'm more concern with the price! these days i'll buy cheap good DC engines and convert them to DCC and also adding sound by myself, more fun!

right now i'm setting up my small layout at home, very small because doesn't have any space unlike what i had previously in auckland. more train items are on its way backhome here hopefully by end of june. anyone by any chance passing through seremban is always welcome to drop by my place here and we can talk about trains smile.gif
*
wao! it's very interesting to heard from you about all the trains..if i pass by seremban, hope can drop by your place to have a look.
Hope all your train items arrived safety and perfectly by end of june, then I can have a look. Haha...

By the way, my shop will have a opening at Paradigm Mall, 2nd floor, lot 6 at 1st July...Hope you can come then we can talk about trains...wakakak
