Hi & Good Morning, Everyone!

However my morning not that good 2day...
My OEM HU now refuses 2read MP3 files!!
Both on CD & USB!!
On CD, it detects files, go2 Track 1 but no playing...
On USB, led on USB flash drive flashes but kenot read files...
All other features of HU are working fine!
Anyone experienced that?

Btw any recommendation for any good branded HU that supports audio ctrls on steering wheel?

Yup, Me hv tried a few CDs with rec MP3 files which cld be played prior 2this. They cld be played b4 but now kenot...
When using USB, HU did not display detection of USB.

Gonna try get a CD head cleaner & hopefully clean lens head so can read MP3 CDs...a dirty one may cause inability 2read codes properly...hopefully that's the prob lo..

However, probably not the cause cos USB kenot be read either & there's no lens head 4USB ops.

Anyway HU oledi out of warrant period. Either me live with it...
Or replace...need $$$$$!!!

ps. Not a priority ATM cos can still play audio CDs & use the radio lo....

pps. AUX socket still working...plugged in my iphone & cld play fr it lo!!
Appears only MP3 files read prob nia...
MP3 decoder chip faulty?

Feel that's last resort liao cos also now feel probably firmware prob.
Mayb will chk if got separate fuse for HU circuit, will remove & re-install that instead. TQ!
Scared if unplug batt3 wld also reset ECU & other electronics lo...

Yup, re-setting the Firmware (via disconnecting power to HU & re-connecting) really worked!!

Yup, found Fuse #2 in cabin fusebox was for AUDIO. Pulled it out & re-plugged in after abt 10 secs and wow! All mp3 discs worked after!!

However, now need 2re-prg my fav radio stations...
No worries there tho...

TQ! TQ! TQ!

ps. And, of course, USB drives now played w/o hesitation!!

Btw, while reading thru OEM HU manual, can confirm warranty is not for only 1 year BUT for TWO (2) years or 50k Km !

Same diff but minus all the hassle Bro iXora'd face if he were 2change his...

From pic in link, module appears w/o hard plastic module...only sheath covering?
Cos impressions (shape outlines) made by a few internal components cld be seen...

ps. Still need 2tap in2 brake lamp power line using the yellow/green cable fr unit. Correct?

Cos no wire need 2n cut (if worry abt warranty)

Even if want 2make that single connection better by splicing it on2 ori cable, it only voids alarm sys warranty.
If car is >12 mths old, no worries oledi cos warranty period 4alarm sys OVER!!
