QUOTE(sranua @ Jan 1 2007, 05:33 PM)
Hi all..
anyone have the experience on changing the steering bush..how much the charges and what it is for...suddenly a mechanic just ask me to change it. Dunno to trust him or not.
My ride is Wira 1.3 Gli AB.
*
u need two ppl to do this. open the bonnet, get someone to turn the setteing wheel continously left and right while you look at the steering rack. if the rack itself is moving left & right, it's time to change the steering rack bush.

now, u might ask why change. the bush is the one between the steering rack and the rack mounting point. if the rack moves, u will also notice that after u make a turn, the steering wheel will not go back to dead centre when the car has completed the turn and moving in a straight direction. most ppl do not notice this till they go for alignment and the mechanic tests the car.

u have three choices of bushes to use. standard rubber bush, pu bushes that will last a lot longer than the standard ones, and lastly, george bush:-P

hope this helps.

Come to think of it, whats the degree of the cams you're selling?
*

[/quot

why are ppl only interested in the degree of cam overlap? that's not the only thing that gives power. more lift helps too. we can quote any degrees, but will not tell u the lift, otherwise everybody will be able to duplicate our cams. btw, for your 1.6, we have a base of 272 degrees.

i got a wira 1.5GL 1994 model (4g15P), wat modification can do on this car... ? some tunning on engine?

i wish to change the suspension..
. with low budget wat can i do to ultilize the car? to make it better to drive?
*
first thing u should do before trying to modify anything is to see if your car is up to it. i've seen some customers who's cars are smoking, but still want to fit race cams............don't understand the concept.......... best to check the condition of the car first. next, make sure your brakes & tyres are up to scratch. then we can talk about mod jobs

hi maddriver, just wonderring, do u know how much it is to change the engine's 'valve seal'? any place to recommend to change these? if no idea nvm, i'm asking oni, thanks  blush.gif
*
there are shops doing just the valve seals for 200 inclusive of parts and labour. or u can do a top overhaul. i would recoment the top overhaul as we can check the condition of your piston rings as well. usually the going price for a top overhaul should be less than rm400

as for the super stiff shocks, the plus side is that after travelling on bad roads with your girlfriend, u either get milkshakes or bra size goes up a notch thumbup.gif

hheemm.. the workshop here offered me around RM400 to change the valve seal, but am not sure whether they'll only change the seal or they are doing top overhaul. Does top overhaul includes changing the valve seal?

one more thing, they suggested me (changing the valve seal) bcos whenever my car being ram, white smoke coming out, so on this case, will it be ok if only changing the seal?

where's ur shop btw?  wink.gif
*
top overhaul does include a change of valve seals. my shop is in shah alam

stock spec absorber...
monroe and kayaba...
which wan will u guys choose?
oil, gas or oil +gas?
*
for stock shocks, i'll go for kayaba, gas is the way to go. as for monroe, etc, i'd rather bite the bullet and get heavy duty servicable shocks

Incorrect. The basic design of a Wira was created to withstand a 1.6 engine. It was only later which they implemented 1.3 engines to meet the demands for the lower income consumers.

Either way...the difference between a 1.3 and 1.6 isn't that big. The car body should be able to withstand a little more force. If you feel insecure, you can also install some racing bars smile.gif
*
don't waste time with all those bars, unless they have chun chicks wotking there! best to bite the bullet and strengthen the chassis by welding. u seldom see rally cars in wrc adding other bars except the roll cage.

the mivec pistons, or the 4g92p pistons will fit nicely in the 4g91 after a re-bore. advantage is that these rwo pistons are high compression pistons.

the midbox in the stock exhaust system is there to reduce the emission but it is also restrictive
By changing to a bullet, the exhaust flow is better thus by removing the restriction, you gain more power.

And by adding 3 bullets, it doens't affect your performance, about FC it depends on your driving and conditions, most significant 1 is your sound will be low
*
if u want power without the noise, check out your former lecturer's gti. damm power, suprisingly quiet.

Yah My Members Say That too.. Im Not Confident this engine is legal for inspection @ JPJ...

Now I just Try Put Gsr Piston On my 1.8SOHC...

why? gsr pistons low compression. u would want to have higher compression pistons for more power
