The Asus G55 and the MSI GE60 were built specifically for gaming and should offer much better cooling systems for prolonged hours of gaming...
The Inspiron 15R is more geared towards multimedia hmm.gif

Both the G55vw and the MSI GE60 are equally good, its best that you go and try out both units (if you can find one tongue.gif) before making the purchase...
But based on what I've seen, the G55 is more conserved in terms of styling, whereas the MSI GE60 is more striking... both comes with 2 years warranty

*update: THe MSI GE60 comes with a larger, and not to mention faster HDD (7200rpm) which will come in handy in shortening load times (not that its a problem if you intend to throw in an SSD though tongue.gif)

Hi there, I would like to ask for some recommendations.

1. Preferred Brand: except Acer, Dell.... prefer asus or any of which you all think is suitable.
2. Budget: <RM2000
3. Usage: Mainly for normal usage, prefer to have graphic card than built-in card.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 13" or 14"

Thank you.

1. Preferred Brand : Asus/ Toshiba/ Lenovo. But any recommendation will do.
2. Budget : Less than RM3k. The lesser the better coz I'm thinking on buying extended warranty.
3. Usage: Mainly office works such as extensive photo/video editing (photoshop/premiere), database n multitasking on ms office. Also for watching movies, surfing and a lot of downloading. Occasionally, play games like The Sims 3 etc. lol!
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: Prefer 14" and light laptop coz I travel a lot. 15.6" also acceptable as long as it is not too heavy. I'm looking for i7 at first n I've been eyeing for Dell 14r Se (but too many bad reviews for Dell Inspiron) n also Asus N56 n just found out that it is weight 2.7kg. I prefer chicklet backlit keyboard as well as having graphic card like 2gb maybe? So my current dilemmas are, do I really need i7 n 2gb graphic card? Help me plz and thanks in advance!

This one is the best and most powerful 14" laptop around at the moment~
14"
Lenovo
Y480, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650(GDDR5)@RM2499[JBL], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, FreeDOS
Y480, i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650(GDDR5)@RM2799[JBL], 8GB, 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, W7HP, 2 years international warranty

You can use the remaining money to opt for Lenovo's onsite warranty support nod.gif
Its not very heavy, and Lenovo's chicklet keyboards have always been some of the best out there~

Yeah, many people are discussing about it tongue.gif
The monitor is only average... you won't be able to get a good performance laptop with good screen for with RM3k unfortunately sad.gif

haha! I know rm3k wont do much. lenovo y480 will be on my list now! Thanks! Actually, I do a lot of heavier stuff on my home desktop pc though. Laptop is for doing work while I travel which is very frequent and bring it sometimes at the office. So the real question is do I really need intel i7 and 2gb graphic? My current laptop is so old already, a lenovo also and really heavy with 15.6" screen. That's why I need something new with lighter weight. Talking abt weight, what do u think about Lenovo u410?

U410 is an ultrabook, its running on a ULV processor (which is probably slightly better than your old 15.6" Lenovo in terms of CPU) haha.. but as devour said, it is very light~
