I've drained my Castrol Activ and changed my EO to Total HiPerf Sport 10W40(API SH & JASO MA2), it costs me rm35. Total is a France product.

First impression after the oil change is I can really feel the 'lightness' because it is a low viscocity compare to my previous Castrol.

Secondly, the gear shifting has improve alot.

I'm satisfied with the EO at the moment. I'll update here after some mileage done in the near future.

Oh ya, i found a motor shop around Jusco Maluri area selling Silkolene. But the price is shocking where the Silkolene Pro 4 is selling at rm65.

*Thank you to those who recommend/suggest/provide opinions to me. And special thanks to bro Alex too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the oil change, i went to hardware shop to look for Autosol and kerosene. Autosol is used to clean rusty stains on the metal/stainless steel parts of the bike such as the handle and disc brake. I bought the smallest one which is 75ml and it costs rm10.

As for the kerosene, i went to a few hardware shops and also mini markets but i couldn't find one. They are selling turpentine(叻水)/thinner(天哪)/xxx(火酒, cant remember the english name). A few of them claimed that it is not easy to find kerosene now. The kerosene is used to clean the chain which is suggested here with experimen done. Since I couldn't get the kerosene, then i used the alternate option which is WD-40. *Turpentine is diff compare with kerosene after some research.

Wash my bike with GoodMaid(dish washer...lol @ myself...but true, no joke), clean the chain with WD-40, apply autosol to some rusty parts while waiting for the WD-40 to do its job. Finally lube the chain with Q-plus Motorcycle Chain Lube, done icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh ya, i have 2nd tank of Ron97 until today but i feel that not much difference compare to Ron95. May b i'll change back to Ron95 and see whether there is any difference hmm.gif May b only cars can feel the diff.

@ken: Are you using O-ring? If yes, Q-plus not enough.
*
bro alex, the original chain shd be O-ring? i never check in detail.

If it is O-ring, what extra steps i need to take care of the chain?

i use ron 97 can feel more lighter and easy to get top speed..  thumbup.gif
but now not daily use..just 2-3 time per month only .
*
icic. but i'm sure it has to do with the eo also because i experience it by myself.

Ron97 + suitable eo = smooth(lighter) + speed can goes up easily

Ron97 + not suitable eo = less smooth(heavier) + speed takes longer time to climb up

If O-ring, after you use kerosene or WD-40, you might have incidentally removed the lubricant inside the chain that is sealed within the rings.
I'm not sure Q-plus does the trick of penetrating the O-ring, and dry up leaving the lubricant inside, or not.

I'm using Silkolene and Motul chainlube.
I have Maxima cans in queue, so I dunno if that works just as well.
*
yaya, i read bout the harm done on the lubes within the rings itself when kerosene/WD-40 applied on the chain. Q-plus did stated it's for the O-ring also. After i've spray on the chain, then the sprays form a white color layer and stick on the chain. Later, the white layer turns to a layer which is hardly seen and i believe it's now stick to the chain as a protection layer already.

I think Silkolene and Motul are for the users with higher budget brows.gif

yeah, but i shy want to bring my bike there since mine just an LC whereby there may be a lot of superbikes waiting in line.  sweat.gif

if anyone knows the procedure of going in like, have to take number or what? need to bring any documents together? i completely have zero knowledge about that.

where is your area? if you located around cheras area, then i think i can intro u one of the shop i went recently.

Before that i went to shop A and i changed to Castrol eo. That shop's price is higher and workmanship not so good. Workmanship not good in terms of lazy to disassemble the sampan(he just unscrewed 1 side where he supposed to unscrew both sides so that he can change the oil filter easier), there is eo here n there on the bike(dirty) etc.

Then i found the Castrol doesn't fit me and i went to another shop B to change eo. Actually b4 i changed my eo at this shop B, i went there before to ask alot about eo and the guy explain to me nicely although i didn't change eo on the same day. Since he's ok then i decided to change my eo at his shop on the next day. I did ask him to drain my old eo thoroughly b4 filling in the new eo. He disassemble my whole sampan and drain the old eo throughly by leaning my bike to one side, then another side, then lean to one side again and another side until the eo hardly dropped from the engine. Then he assembled everything back nicely and fill in the new eo. He also checked the chain, brake etc. He's a nice young guy(my guess he shd be around 26+).

Although it's not a big shops with lots of bikes/accessories, but the workmanship is good and price is reasonale.

My 2 cents icon_rolleyes.gif

*If bro Alex open a shop in kl, i'll be his 1st customer nod.gif

I stay around Batu Caves area. I don't mind spending extra for my bike. As long as I don't feel cheated.
*
i think there shd be alot of big motor shops in batu caves, but good/bad is another case. The shop i mentioned offers reasonable price and the workmanship of the foreman(the guy who handles my bike) is good.

I'll let u know the shop name when i pass by the shop. hehe. Actually it's near Jusco Maluri.

time to insure our lc liao , wondering how much u guy insure?
now am i getting the 15% ncd? wondering 6000 or 6500 when insure
bike price around 7.2k or 7k
lc5 speed
*
wilson, last time i heard u said ur bike is less than 1 yr. Mind to tell the exact month when u bought the bike? i insured my July 2011 FZ rm6500. I have this question when i buy my bike too. At last i insured rm6500 because the insurance price difference is only rm25-rm30 between rm6000 or rm6500. To me, i guess it's worth to pay the extra rm30.

*Some ppl might think the market value is not so high so u dont have to insure that high. But to me, rm30 worths for it...

hi bro, i've check the FZ manual, under the valve clearance section, it only stated "...the valve clearance must be adjusted by a Yamaha dealer..." The manual does not mentioned the setting.

Hehe, 4-stroke bike engine makan EO very fast. Good or bad quality EO can tell very fast. Perhaps you need a long TT now, to warm up the oil and remove the moisture inside.
*
bro alex, what is TT means?

i've change my EO today. Using Motul 5000 10W40 SG/SH/SJ(stated in this way on the label) rm33. Drive 2-3 days and see how's the performance. today did run around 60km with this EO. will continue to observe the performance.

i din use penzoil/yamahalube because they are not API SF/SG... Silkolene last time i asked rm65 rclxub.gif too pricy for me. i know melvin got lubang but haven have chance to get from him...
