I've been wearing N&F WG indigo since last August. No fades/honeycombs.. it did stretched though.

Tough to break in but by far the best fit for me.

Have been wearing it almost everyday to work. Washed twice. What am I doing wrong?

N&F denim is known to have very minimal fades except on afew rare occasions.

^yea, actually not all n&f are like that. there a quite a number of model that fades damn well. elephant, deep indys, big slub, red core , etc.

i believe what satar and titan have is the regular indigo and not the 15oz fabric deep indigo. regular indigo do fade like any raw denim but not significantly i would say. but thats a different story when its the deep indigo.

not really surprise with statar progress , cause like he said its his weekends jeans. not sure about titan's case, but if its office work, then progress won't be that great.

I just bought an Iron Heart 666 XHS 25 oz size 29, but the size is a bit too small for me. Anyone wants to buy pm me your offer, if not I am going to return it back to them and ask for an exchange. Thanks

Usually heavier denims fade easier and better ie elephant models.

On the other hand I just bought a pair of Skinny Guy Waxed Denim by N&F. Hopefully they will fade nicely biggrin.gif

yes, mine is just regular black selvedge fabric which is weighing only 13oz. after count back total days of effective wear,it only around 60-70 days.i think its time for me to do some extreme activities on weekend,so that i can achieve more fades on my current N&F flex.gif

i believe black jeans are also a bit harder to fade than indigo jeans
cycle bro, its the best way to fade good whiskers and honeycome
or jog with ur jeans
once i jog with my jeans for an hour, the crotch and butt area wet liike hell but can see the change in the butt fade directly,
btw my smell like shit afterwards sweat.gif sweat.gif

some people can rotate while some others like me, prefer to wear one pair. rotating is fine imo, but because having a few jeans to rotate will cause one to partially wear all of them.. its very difficult to resist the temptation ! lol

jogging and cycling in our kind of weather is a bit extreme, and funny if some people look at it. cause the filth and sweat will really make the fabric more vulnerable and imminent crotch burst lol.

thats what happened to my jeans, signage of crotch burst
what makes things worst is that i'm wear the jeans low, so the crotch fade is kinda awkward rclxub.gif
but hell yeah, i'm only experimenting on this cheapo jeans before i get a hands of other jeans in the future
some torn and patching on the crotch area will be kinda awesome and vintage to me whistling.gif

stone washed jeans can never replicate the look and comfort of a worn raw jeans. Come on, isn't it cool to wear a clean, raw, indigo ridden denim and have it mold to your body shape, making it super freaking comfortable and watch it fade and get dirty according to your lifestyle resulting in a very unique pair only you own?
get out of that stone washed jeans and get a raw one ASAP! Believe me when I say you'll love your hard earned fades more than machine made fades.

They only have two selvedge jeans offered, but the spencer is raw iinm and the other one is more expensive but washed down. So i didnt bother about that one. tongue.gif

The Spencer retails at rm499 before discount of 50% iinm again so should be rm249.50

Skinny cut i believe. The cut is good from my initial view, but the material is probably not as good as the japanese denim offerings.

But a great collection to have. Green line selvedge and comes in a box.

it's store wide sale, so some items have larger discounts compared to others.

Besides the spencer, their leather belts caught my eye. kinda like those corter leather belts, but im not sure if they are the same quality. Have to take another lesson on leather belts after this. laugh.gif it's on sale as well. Around 50% - 70%.

On a seperate note, i went to the jeans shop at giant shah alam. Nice collection they're selling although limited.

LVC cone mill, ted, iron heart, sammy and momo on display.

Superb texture on those denims especially from iron heart.

Prices? Minimum rm2k up to rm3k. sweat.gif im guessing they give a little discount if you really wanna buy them.

*
Corter belt is good but there's more leather artisan out there can offer better source of leather..

Tax depends on luck really. So far i've manage to evade tax

But if you're getting from Blue Owl , buying anything above 200usd gets you free shipping iirc smile.gif

Customer service is good as well. You can hem your demin for free during the order

@stinkyfart
too big for me,
i asked them for change but no reply,
also won't fit my brother coz too small for him
i hope another jeans my brother won is either size 32 or 36 so could fit one of us flex.gif
actually i'm really going to let go of this pair real cheap, and donate some amount for mydenim,
but unfortunately this kind of jeans (handmade jeans) so difficult to sell,
if got no buyers, maybe i'll donate or make it a prize pool for the future mydenim contest
still, anyone wanna grab this handmade jeans, shoot me a pm, dirt cheap guaranteed!!!

@genpaku
0100sp or should i wait for 0200sp? hahahaha hmm.gif

btw, here's a unique handmade jeans
the jeans uses glue, seriously, GLUE to replace thread stitching shocking.gif

Aww man, that sucks. I hope mine fit. gluejeans' jeans look like they're gonna fall apart any moment! And the price... *facepalm*

oh btw for anyone interested, DoubleXX tshirt has a buy 1 free 1 sale. Just write "DOUBLEXX DEAL" in the note section during checkout. Free international shipping. http://www.jimmycrow.com/DoubleXX/indexdxx.php

@ stinkyfart
yeah the price is really absurd
but what can i say, its handmade, just like brown deim
the process of making the jeans is what counts, brows.gif

@ genpaku
i dont think so, i believed when 0200sp comes out, the price of 0100sp will be even lower again for clearence, but size will be really limited
well, i dun have the fit pic, since it is too big for me,
but u can check their site browndeim.com
it fits like levis 510
mine are size 34 nod.gif

During the ordering process you can select that option , else email their customer service.

Regarding fits , i've a pair of 0700sp and don't make the same mistake i did. At least size down one. Since i've hemmed it already i doubt anyone would be it so i'll just use it as a pair of loose jeans tongue.gif

i would say slim jim and grim timm, but GT wil taper more towards the leg opening.

Any significant difference using those detergents from regular detergents?

read around that using organic detergents are better, having better contrast after wash and all. I just want my jeans to smell pleasant again. laugh.gif

gotta contemplate having to wash it or work it harder for better contrast before wash.

hmm, ok.. any other difference from a 14.5oz? honestly im just interested in the mydenim jeans biggrin.gif
*
the difference isnt only from the weight, but also the source and quality of material itself to produce great contrast and awesome fading
the thing is most heavyweight fabric are only used in high end denim brand
btw according to some expert coming for meeting today, the denim is superb,
well. reputable fabric from kaihara mill wont ever be a let down flex.gif

If I'm not mistaken, the denim used, as in fabric, is the same. The only difference is in the construction and small details. Some people say the one made in Australia is better in terms of quality.

I dont own imperial MIJ but i believe imperial either MIJ or MIA is almost in the same level in terms of quality..a slight change from cross stitching to hidden copper rivet on backpocket..both design intent are the same..to reenforce the backpocket stitching...that's all..

Glad you asked. Its our first "official" denim competition. We're collaborating with a local denim brand, Cheese Denim(https://www.facebook.com/CheeseDenim) and local streetwear brand, Super Sunday(https://www.facebook.com/SSCG.PREMIUM) to create our own MYDENIM jeans for the comp. We'll be using 16.25oz selvage denim from the prestigious kaihara mill. So far there are only 7 participants in Malaysia's first denim competition. We hope more people would join us in making history smile.gif

@layanglayang fades look contrasty. Isn't it hot to wear a 29oz in Malaysia? If I'm not mistaken, you have the 32oz N&F right? Can you tell us how it feels like to be wearing such heavy jeans? Also, which one do you prefer? smile.gif

@dlaz great fades! Its actually awesome considering how tough it is to get fades on organic nudies.

@Ree pictures are still small. Nice jeans anyway. Btw, what wallet is that?

No, it is not that hot wearing it here , might be because I'm use to it.

Yes, I do have a N& F weird guy, 32oz . I sometimes wear it around the house just breaking in. Plan on wearing it full time after I've done with that rnb-125.
Wearing heavy jeans make me feel very comfortable , I can feel the thickness and the jeans rubbing my skin. As time goes by it feel softer and comfy.

Which one do I prefer ? I prefer heavy jeans.

Sometimes it takes a wash to be able to see the fades but for a good rule of thumb wear it at least for 6 months before washing to have good contrasting fades

Thanks layang layang. I was there just now but due to the tropical cyclone, 80% of the shops were closed as early as 5.30pm.

It is No 8 storm signal in hong kong now. Since tsim sha tsui (where take 5 is) is located by the Victoria harbour, the wind is really scary and crazy. I almost gotten blown away.

Back to the hotel and after taking a hit shower, watching the harbour outside my room now.

A day wasted.

Glad you alright. Stay safe and hopefully the cyclone will go away , so that you can have a good time there. Just in case, stock some water and food and get yourself a torchlight just in case you gonna need it.

^ not much i know of, but its a solid pair right along with samurai.
fabric is part cotton and sugar cane fibre which is awesome and should end with a vintage wear/progress
sweet back pocket design , handstitch too.

python skin patch ! and catchy pocket bags.

IMO three om em almost the same if you compare with the term of garment and construction..

the detail also almost the same, got a hidden rivet etc... only the weight and the price make it different tongue.gif

^ risky to get a sammy without doing some homework, don't you think?

anyway, 40min hot soak will result in the waist shrinking about easily 1inch. and thigh area more than 0.5. inseam also should be more than 0.5 inch easily.

guys..buy online or buy from fellow forumers in lyn or buy online is up to u guys..i dont wanna judge anyone..but there's few item i need to highlight..

If u want to buy online but try ur sizing in local boutique is unethical..yes u can save a lot buying online..but put urself in the place of the owner of denim boutique itself..some of them just wanna earn profit eg breadnbutter(business off course need to gain profit)..some of them gain a lil bit of profit since they open a boutique, they need to pay rental, electricity, staff wages etc..take a look at musa and actually..they are having hard time selling denim nowaday..even kiya also complain customer come to selfedge to try fitting..end up not buying anything and come back a week later with the same jeans buying from another place..if u prefer to buy online..just buy and dont bother to trouble those staff in breadandbutter etc..if u found the size is not up to ur liking..just resell back ur jeans to be appreciated by other denim lovers

Another thing is..actually those denim manufacturers actually keep an eye on our local denim scene..how much the demand..our buying power etc..if they see our local boutique stop their business one by one..there's no way any premium denim will open it's business here in the next few years..taavi kuisma from nordicdenimhouse also have the same thought about this when i ask him if there is any chance of opening momotaro store in msia..

Last but not least..pls support local business unless item that u need to buy is not available here..me and fellow forumers here always have thoughts about opening the very first premium denim store in msia..but some people just prefer to buy online even  the price about the same compared to buying locally..which made me think twice about this plan

Yeah it's ur money and it's up to u where u gonna spend it..im just saying..dont bother about it if u dont really care

so u patched ur jeans in SAT yesterday
how long does it take? neat? price?
i'm looking for a tailor to do some patching
i tried to patch it myself by manually sewing it, but couldnt find any needle in my house  cry.gif
*
kev, this is how my TF after patched by SAT
the front part was done recently by them.the back part is the first time i asked them patch and it was done by the more pro looking guy,not Lan.i was satisfied with it and i think it was rm12.but then i went there again to patch up the front part, they did it like this.i didnt ask for the specific way i thought they would do it again like the first time.

@chaz, i still think its a decent idea to open a premium idea store in msia and its do-able.

i think the fact that buying online have more gimmicks or little stuff is the attraction.. regular coupon codes, authenticity guaranteed, occasional free gifts , fast shipping and security(i did buy something from kloop and it reach me in 2 days! ) i'll gladly admit that i buy most of the denim online because its cheaper by quite a margin. although i hv not visited musa, but hv seen what the prices are like. all i can say is if i really have the dough i"ll support them. but i think i can say for most ppl that buying even n&f online instead of musa can save easily rm200-300 sometimes? so that might be the main reason why for denim business, online buying still the preferred choice.

yes i also buy things online..but as i said in previous post..dont try fitting in musa or b&b or sat or actually..then buy online and come back to store a week later trolling them by wearing the same exact jeans..

Opening a premium denim store in msia still a long way to go..i think first thing to do..one should own an union special machine over here

@Chaz
The thing about our local premium boutique is the price. I understand the business point of view but man, u double/triple up the price is kindda absurd for me.
However then again, most of the shop selling the premium denim are not authorize dealer and so the price hike.
I fully support if u guys want to open a shop selling all the premium denim. Take your time, but if u guys decided to open, i'll be willing to be ur regular customer. And also my bro...

QUOTE(chazychaz @ Aug 8 2012, 10:03 PM)
guys..buy online or buy from fellow forumers in lyn or buy online is up to u guys..i dont wanna judge anyone..but there's few item i need to highlight..

*
I agree with you...the malaysian mentality of buying online is just killing the opportunity of having premium denim store to open here in malaysia...if one would pop up here i would definitely buy from the store rather than online...at least i get to have it immediately..i use to get Naked and famous online and from singapore before but when musa brought in i buy from them (unfortunately they closed down and i have stopped wearing N&F). The denim at SAT are super expensive is because they are re-seller and not authorized dealer..take a look at denim store singapore and pronto bangkok and take 5 in hong kong..these store manage to open and sustained because of support from local people...i dont understand why some people would prefer to go all the way to singapore or elsewhere just to buy N&F (for example) when you can save traveling money and buy them at Musa before...i've always wanted to voice this issue out but i guess its hard to change the typical malaysian mindset...think about it..if there is support and these denim brands see there's demand in malaysia they would designate an authorized dealer in malaysia and price of the denim would be at market price...

i think i have been into this denim too long, much longer than you guys that at this point on i would rather pay a bit more to have the opportunity to buy it locally at a local store and get it immediately than having to wait for it to be posted here, and paying for postage, credit card tax etc etc..in the end pun mahal jugak...or like some people who would rather go out of the country for the sake of buying it not in malaysia...in the end you would get the same item...i seriously respect the thai people and singaporean for supporting their local denim stores..they have the ability to get stuff online but still they would rather support their local boutique...because of that basic mentality they are able to distinguish themselves with us economically....

Hi guys. i just wanted to give an opinion

Can you guys list down online shops that you guys normally buy from and would reccomend. Also what to look for in the websites so that we are satisfied? As for now, i only have a few online websites that i know that might ship to malaysia. And Those two are

1. Karmaloop
2. Cultizm

I dont know other than those two. I do read their FAQ. but, Do they deliver the product safely? How long must we wait? how much for shipping usually? And are there any complications at customs.

I hope that one of the gurus here can explain to us (especially noobies).

Sorry but i have not ever bought anything online so i have my doubts. Sorry if this post is asking quite basic and dumb questions. Thanks.

looks good. try to take pictures outside with natural lighting. that would really show the electric blue colors coming out of the denim and clearer fades too. its really hot n sunny at malaysia, take the opportunity. im hating the gloomy weather here, tried to take some pictures but none is good.

size not same.....unbranded size run bigger than NF size (correct me if wrong...confuse rclxub.gif )....unbranded is "True Size" i think...

but cutting is quite similar
slim guy = UB301
weird guy = UB201
skinny guy = UB101

for example NF's weird guy size 30 same with Unbranded UB201 size 32...

I wore for 3 months counting today its fading fine but I am just worried about too lose, cause I bought them off at 30 now it seems expands a lot to 32. Can I give them a soak ? Will they affect my raw denim or something ?

anyway, i think stretching to 32 is the limit. when the denim is loosen up 1-2 inch i think it wont stretch anymore. it there's no visible contrast now, then maybe soaking/washing will affect the progress a little. plus, i think uniqlo is a b*tch to fade. your choice imo.

i got a jeans hemming question. but my pair aint selvage so i hope its ok to post here since this thread gets the most views.

i got a pair of Uniqlo Slim Fit Straight. its around 2-3 inches too long. doesn't touch the ground when i wear shoes tho. but im not too fond of the stacking. im planning to shorten it by 2 inches. But im afraid after i shorten it will affect the slim silhouette. right now i do a double 1 inch cuff.

hmm maybe post a picture to show how intense the stack is?
if you prefer a cleaner profile, then just hem the right amount. if not maybe a single cuff is fine.

Greetings guys,

I have been recently looking to buy another pair of jeans and decided to switch to a different brand from Levi's. Came across hugo boss's denim collection and I got to say that they look perfect. Went over to gardens the other day and they were selling their straight fit black colored jeans for about RM750. Is it worth to get it from them or are there any other similar brands that I should look at. Looking for jeans with a waist measurement of about 36. Thanks in advance.

if you are comfortable with the designer jeans, go ahead..
there are other brands, but sadly they are harder to get locally..
people on this thread more interested with raw selvedge denim..

Hi guys. I've just bought a pair of Tarik Jeans purple selvage jeans. I've only wore it for about 13 hours, sadly I find that the waist line is about 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch off ( i prefer to wear my jeans a bit closer to my belly button level ), and right now, it's a bit too low for my taste. is it possible for me to shrink just the waist line via the hot water method ( hot water in a bucket, and I place only the waist line area of the denim in the water with Woolite Dark ), or do I have to send it off for a waist line reduction via sewing? If I have to choose the sewing method, frankly speaking, I don't want it to be sent to a sewing shop who will screw up the jeans. So if the sewing method is the preferred way to reduce the waist line, I really hope you fellas can point me the shop who can do a damn good job lol, preferably in K.L / Kajang / Subang / P.J. Thanks guys!

Dear all, just got myself a pair of nudie thin finns. Two questions:
(1) It's a 32/34, and I'm about 175cm. The jeans are a bit long - are they normal? From the pics and fashion sites, it seems that it's normal for the jeans to be about 1 - 1.5 inches longer than your heels to give it that "crumply"effect

(2) what the the right tops to go along with skinny jeans usually?

Thanks!

i believe they use sanforized denim so shrinkage will be minimal even if you soak with boiling water..and what's up soaking it with woolite dark? I dont think it will enhance the shrinking process..and from my point of view, the true purpose of wearing raw jeans is to see the beautiful fading process upon wears, and using woolite will ensure minimal indigo loss..

just go with your preferences bro, longer inseam may cause a trouble if ur wearing slippers like me, the overlength turns out as a "socks" to my slipper and the fit looks awful because of that,
but then there are still many ways to cope this like cuffing it

I sized down one...the jeans expanded 2 inches at the waist...I would've bought 2 sizes down but I have big thighs...APC PS can't fit my big thighs sweat.gif

the thing about the reverse fade is that, the white paint used will make the jeans looks very dirty when its faded and broken in , and even more so for people who are clueless about raw denim.
there are very limited progress pictures of it, but on sf i have seen some, and they are quite hideous, no offence to anyone.

anyway, i have not seen enough of reverse fade progress to judge it lol..

why the 3rd person thing lol..

size down 2 or 1 for weirdguy depend how slim you are, true to size for skinnyguy or size down one.. also depends on the denim that you're getting.

not the best fit i'd say no offence, but its nice to see something more loose and relax smile.gif
hem about 1.5-2 inches and you're ok to go.

if you're on the left, then fit is fine .

hi fellow forumers...
just got my Nudie Slim Jim Dry Broken Twill Jeans today...it's in W34 short
i got some questions and hope you guys can give some advice

1. is my Nudie sanforized or not? I tried to look up on nudie website..it doesn't really tell...
2. should I soak the jeans 1st?
3. around the thigh it's a bit tight but still okay..will it strech over time? or will it shrink? most probably Average Joe would fit me better...

this is my 1st raw jeans and would really appriciate any info given.. thanks smile.gif

about the tightness, its ok bro, they will stretch.the tighter it is,the more it will stretch cause of pressure.
for me,i like it to be a bit tight first which later i know will stretch to the point i liked it to be rather than buying a size bigger.

Wear it as muc as u can. It'll stretch. My little bro also can button his unbranded brand for couple of days. Ask him just to wear it to make it a bit stretch.

For my redwing, i stayed tts. Meaning your UK 8 converse would be the same uk 8 for red wing.

Be mindful the sizing for redwing is stated in US size. So your uk 8 would be us 9 size. Almost made the mistake ordering online in US sizes.

i didnt soak my nudies, and yeah they still stretch.
dont worry jaguar those thigh part gonna stretch.and you can do some lunges in them to stretch it more.if the elastane is very low, once it stretch it will stay like that.i had the recycle dry pair that has the 3% elastane,it stretch quite minimal cause its kinda like stretching back in.

that soaking is also suggested for nudie to get rid of excess indigo.so your pair will fade faster, but if your nudie is organic cotton, that soaking wont help much in fading cause the organic cotton.

edit:
this the first pic i had with my organic dry ecru, which was a bit tight at the thigh and waist too.ngam2.sorry pics sucks.

fantastic denim. spikes will be my next purchase most likely. all made under one roof and steven is a great guy. really one of the denim in the market im willing to pay full retail for.

um comments.. fit is great, beautiful cone mill fabric, and red line selvedge, nice details in contrast stitching , rust-ish rivets, and a thick natural leather patch.

Corrected. Buying from uk normally dont use usps which is usa postal service. Using ups is more likely to be the correct courier

what to do, the items is too many, around 12 items, and i cant simply reduce the value of the items.
i go inside and discuss with their higher officer, luckily they managed to give me discount up to 900, so i just pay the balance.
the items is autopart, and got eksais duty which i cant barely avoid.

Thanks, but KL not too practicalla.

Anyway, if anyone knows a good tailor in Penang which at least puts some effort in matching the colour and thickness of the thread when altering, please do let us know. It's okay if they don't chain stitch. biggrin.gif

Weird Guy will look slimmer because of tapered leg...it also depends on how u sizing it...even Skinny guy will look baggy if u size up 2/3...if u have big thigh go for Weird Guy...

I like Momo's GTB line. just for the back pockets. tongue.gif

I take one size down since mine is the JB x Momo line which uses Texas cotton rather than Zimbabwe cotton (Later more superior). Not sure about the Zimbabwe cotton, but texas cotton doesn't stretch much.

no, I don't think they sell those in Malaysia. Even if it did and Bread&Butter were to sell, they'd be like RM2k haha.

I was on a business trip to HK last week.

They had Dior stores everywhere my goodness. Brands galore. Every corner I turn I see Tods, Prada, Hermes, Jimmy Choos, Miu Miu, Fendi, D&G...

I was well dressed up so the people in the Dior shop took good care of me. I think I saw the MIJ jeans were around 6500~8000 HKD? That's roughly the price of the iPhone 5. Crazy, crazy people...

Hi I'm new here
Probably one of the young denim rockers here
Just wondering no owner list? Hhshhahaahahaa

Just got my pair of 14.5 oz black unbranded brand denim last few days

I'm here for opinion
I keep my Braun buffer wallet in my back pocket
Hoping it to fade nicely behind
But this tend to damage my wallet
I don't wanna kill my wallet just because of the nice fade behind
Is there any other option not to kill my wallet but have them in my denim?

Ohh and
It's hard work for me to get those denim and wallet
That's why I'm treasuring them wink.gif

my advice is get another wallet that you can beat up, preferably one that looks better as it ages. But then again, what wallet gets damaged from being sat on? If it does, then that's not a really good wallet now is it?
