if u bought a second hand unit then probably the first user ady registered.
if u bought new unit, then just wait for the confirmation email, maybe delay cz dropbox processing yr request or cz yr account is new. JUST WAIT.

I had the same problem as well.. in the end i found out that i was using my Hotmail account instead of my google account. then i checked my google account, dropbox sent me a mail asking me to complete 4 steps in getting the extra 48GB. finally got my space after completing the tasks.

today just accidentally dropped my blue s3 direct front display drop in the floor. Luckily I have wear my purple case on my s3, no damage at all. if I didn't put a case on it, I think my s3 screen already crack.
