I don't do a lot of fps... I'm only playing Diablo 3 now. and I found a sweet deal, pyra bundle with sense only for 169. very tempted to pull the trigger!!! mamba is wired/unwired.2 in one. i wil lget that one once my DA diedyes the screen is matte, very good in movies and gaming. viewing angle is superb too. QUOTE(skeith @ Jul 30 2012, 08:01 PM) the capabilities of a laptop to generate a FHD quality video to a FHD TV is depends on how strong is your GPU. its 8600m gtTherefore, you have to check your GPU specifications in order to know it can generates FHD TRU VGA transmission or not. For example, the transmission of Nvidia GTX 670M Maximum Digital Resolutions: 2560 x 1600 Maximum VGA Resolutions: 2048x1536 While Nvidia 8400M GS Maximum VGA Resolutions: 1920x1080 So... yeah, if you think you GPU is better then this 8400M GS, then you definitely can run it in a FHD display. i guess that possible with VGA thanks heaps! |

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Aug 4 2012, 05:10 PM) got my laptop today, having problem with the GPU sensor. Anyway to set the default to my nvidia card instead of the intergrated Intel Graphic ? not sure about nvdia but it's normal for amd 7970m. it won't pick up the card until i load up games or running heavy gpu usage. I change it at the nvidia control panel to use the nvidia card but still my CPUID Hardware Monitor is unable to pick up the card. my gpu-z will freeze until i load the game QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Aug 5 2012, 01:42 PM) Yeah thanks able to see the temp now. Btw my temperature goes up to around 80'c when i game in an aircond room. Wonder is that normal or not ? i always get 82c in diablo 3 but 72c in other games. no idea whyYes so far gaming it will switch to discrete, but sometime benchmark test like passmark it wont. weird. |

QUOTE(skeith @ Aug 5 2012, 02:47 PM) that is normal due to "Optimus" by nVidia. your nVidia is idle or inactive most of the time in underload situations (watching low quality movie, readings, internet, blablabla) i think mostly driver issuetry to play some high def games or open ur nvidia control panel and refresh ur CPUID hardware monitor. Added on August 5, 2012, 12:50 pm maybe diablo 3 too inefficient? btw, i rarely hit 80c too without overclocking anyway, i got new LED TV but my old laptop with vga output unable to transmit 1080p to the tv now i need to get hdmi cable to connect my current laptop to tv |

QUOTE(Isolation13 @ Aug 14 2012, 07:29 PM) Hey Bro its worth it for the time being to get the GTX680m..because the AMD 7970m Enduro(Switchable graphics technology) problem is still not fix yet..the GPU utilization for me never go above 65%~70% when playing Battlefield 3 multiplayer(since you said you're a heavy gamer I assume this as an intensive game or to give you an idea of how big an impact it has) even if i lower the settings it lower the utilization thus i could not maintain 60 FPS.. 60fps is the minimum for me to play battlefield 3 multiplayer competitively..and this is happening to almost all of the games release...with the exception of Metro 2033(99% utilized) all the games i played(finished diablo 3,max payne 3, NFS:The run, bf3) and they all running 99% most of the time. It only go down when there is a story after story/chapter ends.So my advise for is you is to get the GTX680m if you want a hassle-free, out of the box-working laptop. For General Info: BARE in mind that the issues(7970m enduro) has existed since 3 months ago..till now there is no solution to fix the enduro issue..however i might add that many of the users at notebookreview.com manage to get the attention of famous technology blogging sites to spread the issue further in order to make AMD acknowledge the issue exist and thus they are now currently investigating it. That is the current situation. Don't get me wrong the 7970m is a powerful card..its a freaking downclock desktop AMD 7870(only around 11~15% downclock)..so I know that this mobile card(7970m) has no problem in maxing out any games currently..only problem is enduro is holding it back. Alienware knew that this would be an issue so they design their laptops to have a hardware mux that bypass enduro allowing the card to be fully utilized(99%). Personally if i still have the option to switch to the GTX680m I would. the only issue i'm having is the high temp in diablo 3 only i'm pretty sure it's a driver issue that holding 7970m horse |

QUOTE(Isolation13 @ Aug 15 2012, 12:46 AM) well thats good for you then but not for me I basically have the same symptoms with almost all of the users in NBR who owns the same clevo 7970m card as me...Anyway my post earlier was about the BF3 Multiplayer (PREMIUM VERSION). BF3 single player is of course running at 99% MOST of the time however I do get lower utilization when playing multiplayer. By the way if you have the time can you please try to lower your settings to medium or low settings to see if you gain any significant increase in FPS especially in BF3 multiplayer cause I don't see any increase at all just lower utilization. can't test it cause removed bf3 already but do you feel lag in multiplayer in low fps? anyway, it could be most faulty unit are from sager units but mine is not sager(is horize) and so far no one complain 79790m issue from horize |
