The 24 hours wait was a lie to deceive you to sign the job sheet so that he can cabut and leave the problem to you and Maxis.
*
So we need to make sure the phone works before the TM & Maxis Engineer leaves the premise

Guys... I receive the bill. There have rm100 perpetual discount. Apa ini..
*
What other charges is shown ?
Does Maxis Charge FTTH @ RM218 and give discount RM100 = RM118 ????
Then this is rather bad

It show the period 2/7/2012 - 9/7/2012 = RM58.13 (my installation date 2/7/2012)
Thn bottom under discount & Rebate, RM100 Perpetual Discount = -RM56.67

I think is what you say, RM218 - RM100. What is bad?
*
Means Maxis can remove the Perpetual Discount whenever they like and we pay RM218 from then on....
Not very good to customers... but smart of Maxis as usual.

I'm not questioning the word "perpetual".
This line item can be easily "go missing" and blame system error hahahaha.

Just for people to take note only....

Just received a call to re-confirm the installation date & time.
Specifically tell both TM & Maxis Engineer to COME ON TIME.
The person also admit it was issue in the early phases.... he says now is much better.

I now have to switch the ONT and Thomson in stages before i can get a connection. I used to switch them both at the same time and I'd get connected in 2 to 3 minutes. I hope it's not a sign of either one failing haha..
*
I believe the ONT must be turned on first, followed by Thomson Router

Finally I got my Maxis Home Fibre installed...
2 TM engineers + 1 Maxis engineer (contractor by Maxis) came.
TM engineers arrived earlier (working at the MDF) than Maxis engineer.

You can deselect that, unless you enable firewall in thomson router smile.gif

It does reduce the processing load of the router, according to other forums.

I set mine to disable also...

I notice when on Maxis Home Fibre + IE 8.0.6001.18702CO when browsing LYN forum, I get "Page cannot be found" every so often. After refreshing it works again. Annoying.... mad.gif Could it be too fast that IE cannot render in time ?

But when switching to Firefox, this doesn't happen. Strange encounter

it has nothing to do with opening a new tab... it has to do with the webpage do not load/freeze/hang, you need to refresh to get the webpage load, 8 out of 10 times

it's that if you have a habit of opening a new tab, you'll feel it and know it... many ftth users do not realize the problem because they don't open a new tab

for example while reading thestar, you open a new tab for business section, metro section or any article you like to read, then you'll see some of the new tabs you try to  open freeze... you need to refresh to get the webpage load... sometimes, it will not load even if you refresh
*
But a quick press of the F5 button will load the page immediately....

so advanced ah this maxis ftth... why streamyx 1mbps do not have such issue?

i get fed up having to refresh my new tab, 80% of the time!

i am just talking about reading thestar... in actual fact, i am doing work... it slow down and interrupt my work badly... we're not talking about a few times in a day... i may need to open new tab 50 times a day or more

maxis ftth = maxis wtf!
*
Are you on Public IP or Private IP ?
would you say the connection is idle when opening the new tab ?
