ok so in conclusion the phone is very customisable and upgradeable so i just grabe 1 at the store and slowly play and upgrade the firmware, andriod (ics to jb) correct?

anyone got their nexus from samsung stores? by default what firmware do they use yakju or non yakju? (just curious)

You won't get yakju from any phone shop/samsung stores as they all come with yakjuxxmeaxglasjglwkjsgdlksjdlg. So in the end, just grab yourself an sme phone is enough.
This is what I'm seeing now, Price for GNex are uber cheap and Jelly Bean experience. Next few months, most of them will sell off or trade it for Galaxy s3 with the reason Trying other phone.
That will happen for people who change phone often, people who likes Google Dev phone will stick to it... and also poor people like me will use it till broken
data associated with apps not backup?? meaning it will backup the app but not the data (as in saved games or information?) i dont have playstore, only android market (is it the same?)
can i link it to the pc and back it up that way? i just need to backup the apps so that i dont need to reinstall them

Guys i just got an android system update on my gnex. i dunno what is it.
I'm currently on 4.0.2 yakjuzs.....i was thinking about flashing to to 4.0.4 yakju as per my earlier post but now I'm getting a system update. I dare not update yet as i dunno what the hell I'm getting.

Update it and let us know what is it as most of us using yakju/custom/job. Most probably ICS 4.0.4 yakjuxx from Sammy... I heard there is new batch of phone coming... maybe this batch comes with 4.0.4

This update is from sammy...otherwise I would be getting JB really late from sammy...
Since you are still having Sammy' yakjuxxxx and that update isn't that big, I suggest keep using that until mid July...coz most probably new JB need wipe.

You can choose to flash to yakju but there is no point doing it because they are the same except updates. If you want JB, wait till it is out and flash that instead.
I've noticed a few small issues. The screen wouldn't really turn off during a phone call, or turn on again. Sometimes I've noticed a crash or two, whereas ICS was rock solid (I'm really surprised, because my old Android crashed more often than Windows Me... when that was in alpha stage).
ICS crash got one or two (maybe custom problem coz didn't play with stock for that long). JB damn stable and only apps not compatible FC, nothing happened to the ROM

Not happened to me ICS or JB, I had my wifi on 24/7, maybe you need a wipe and reflash.
Not everyone using data plan. Some might not use the same app for video call. Too many diff app, too troublesome. Wonder why Google doesn't include 3g video call. Can custom rom perform this?
No point doing that as most people won't bother about that... plus with that call rate, I rather use Skype/Hangout with data/WiFi... time to move on, 3G is so yesterday. Cheers
Still not sure, I just tested adding G+ events and it will pop out estimate time and map. Not so with calander which will only pop out notification (10 min before actual event starts)
Maybe Google Now needs more info, or search the flight first.

They need to compile a guide on using Google Now because some cards won't pop out unless they gathered enough info (working/workout schedule) as shown in IO. So far I only got G+ events pop out when i manually add things.
