Guys i just got an android system update on my gnex. i dunno what is it. 



I'm currently on 4.0.2 yakjuzs.....i was thinking about flashing to to 4.0.4 yakju as per my earlier post but now I'm getting a system update. I dare not update yet as i dunno what the hell I'm getting. 


Using ntt docomo gnex. 

What should i do???????

I'm one of the guys who found Stickmount not working.  But realised it depends on which file manager used.  ES File Explorer worked in ICS but could not read thumbdrive files in JB.  Changed to Root Explorer and it works.

Update it and let us know what is it as most of us using yakju/custom/job. Most probably ICS 4.0.4 yakjuxx from Sammy... I heard there is new batch of phone coming... maybe this batch comes with 4.0.4

This update is from sammy...otherwise I would be getting JB really late from sammy...

Since you are still having Sammy' yakjuxxxx and that update isn't that big, I suggest keep using that until mid July...coz most probably new JB need wipe.

ok so im trying to root the phone now but before that i have some questions
5- go to control panel\hardware and sound\ device manager, look for anything related to samsung galaxy nexus or samsung mobile driver. uninstall it, if not present then continue. if windows 7 then ok)

-- if drivers are installed and working, ur phone will show up in the tool kit showing fastboot, a string of numbers or ABD- a list of numbers.
after u uninstall the drivers in device manager(phone not plug in), reboot comuter, then use toolkit install drivers. then reboot then continue

6- boot up ur toolkit, and select 4.0.1, then type the number for the option (install/uninstall galaxy nexus drivers on your PC) installed. reboot computer. while w8ing check ur phone, settings\about phone\android version\ u will see 4.0.1, or some number, remember it.

--bold remove, cuz u know ur phone is 4.0.1, this step is to install drivers and check what number 4.0.1/4.0.2 u r using.

i ended up having 5 ABD Interface drivers and 2 bootloader drivers with errors... is this a pc problem? because i followed the instructions exactly

--u shud have 1 driver installed.
but try this,
plug in ur phone in fastboot(the android lying with open stomach), plug in computer, open toolkit, press 4.0.1(either 1 enter or 2 enter) then it appear a list of actions to do. if u see fast boot and ABD on top, fastboot got numbers then u can continue.

Yup its 4.0.4..already updated it. Gonna search what are the improvements over 4.0.2.

Can I still flash from this 4.0.4 to yakju 4.0.4 to get google updates then?

You can choose to flash to yakju but there is no point doing it because they are the same except updates. If you want JB, wait till it is out and flash that instead.

i think he updated from 4.0.2 yakjuxx to 4.0.4 yakjuxx..
meaning if u ask him w8 JB update, we will be eating key lime cake
