HI, all elantra owner.. I have a question because now im reall confuse with the choice between a 1.8 new civic and 1.8 md elantra..

For the performance I'm sure is elantra but the eco mode compare to Civic I'm sure civic is the best..

My question is for 1.8 owner.. How much is fuel for 100km or full tank ron 95 can goes up to how much km?

Is there anyone have problem with this car or disadvantage.. I know not all car perfect.. Is acceptable for minor problem

I had the same delimma. I went to both show room. but at the end I booked 1.8 GLS HE.

because civic look so uncle-ish

LoL! First time I hear ppl describe civic as uncleish. Used to be reserved for Toyota's. I only describe new civic as fugly.

If full tank 1.8, 90% stuck in KL, I can go up to 400+km
Disadvantage, too sexy. Got a few times a group of ppl surround to see my car until I dare not go in. Wat if they hijack when I go back in...
Seriously, engine a bit rough when hit 1.5k rev. After tat rev point then is ok.
no issues for my HE. Some minor stuff I claimed warranty like aircond fan abit noisy. And they allow me to claim smile.gif

hard to tell whether elantra has better quality than civic. elantra is still new around here, so feedback can only found from other countries.

but my personal opinion, elantra NVH is very good compare to civic. in fact, this is proven by reviews from other countries. in order to make such great NVH, a lot of details have been worked out to put elantra into shape. they need to ensure every part/component is solidly built.

Yes I full agree with the NVH. I am comparing between civic and altis. Civic NVH is the suckiest, followed by altis.
I am really happy with my HE NVH and I am doing everything to retain this experience.

Today I pump rm63 for 330km and that is city driving. Another 100km shown on the meter.

Again I am bored of arguing about 2hv. I traded in my current gen altis for this an I never looked back since. If u wanna buy car tat other ppl wanna drive 5 yrs down the road, good luck with ur decision. I will prefer to buy a car I like, and enjoy driving.
I had been stuck with T for the past 10 yrs bcoz of do called 2hv and never had the luxury to own all the hi tech features I am having now. Not to mention their exorbit price for bare shell car.

never buy a car just becoz of the 2nd hand value. if you affort to change car every 2-3 years, that's mean you are rich enough, why bother your trade in value? Buy a car that you fall love in first sight, gather the spec info and feedback to convince yourself. That's should be the way to think of before a car right???

just my 2 cents.....

The only think i dislike is the GPS is too slow. Other than that, everything is above my expectations.
Second hand value is not my concern as i only took small amount of loan. Price hike and shortage of supply should help a bit on the second hand value i think.
Some of my friends agree that if you slap an T or H logo into this car, it will be priced above 130K.

tis car changed people's perspective towards korean car... just like people nowadays like samsung led tv more than sony, like samsung smart phone more than nokia etc... my dad is one of those... he was against my idea to choose hyundai at first.. even my brother.. but now, both of them.. say this car is really nice.. compare to their toyota and honda... they feel their car is boring.. lol

after u c the new civic.. u will love this car even more...

try open new civic trunk by its remote control and try HE... u will laugh at theirs..

As I said. In ever looked back. Look at jap new cars. Design getting lousier, lesser spec, Hondas getting smaller. Price getting higher.
Luckily Mazda is still coming out with great looking cars. But with their car price....

Many ppl don't understand, they get higher resale value for T&H bcoz they have already paid at exorbit price for their under spec cars in the first place.

Well said there mate... I'm sure with that T or H tag it will be priced at RM120k+
I'm not that rich to change car you see.. Actually in my case I bought a Proton Persona Elegance which is 50k but the quality is not there.. Disc brake prob, ecu problem, heavy petrol drinker( not heavy foot) because I work in KL(city).. I can spent up to RM600 for petrol and maintainence which I'm not happy because it is Proton.
On the other hand, my gf 2010 honda city is good which i love it (just the F**K power is not there) Since I have a little bit more budget I can think of elantra and civic.. More advise needed bro.. biggrin.gif

I need to think of resale value because of my backup plan which if i not satisfy the car I can sell it in short term which i can afford to lose around 8k only .. same with my rubbish proton persona.. I just SELL it away although i lost 8k.. because i just hate the customer service and quality.. mad.gif mad.gif

Hopefully this time i can just find a right car and peace of mind for at least 4 years.. Hope u can all help me with more comment.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

This car just launched less than 1/2 year. Nobody know how reliable for sure.

I never face any problem so far (got my HE since May) except the door rubbers making annoying sound which can be easily settled.

As 666devil mentioned, engine sound rough at 1500rpm. The gear change is so smooth, You gotta give credit to Hyundai as this is their own 6AT gearbox.

If your budget allowed, just get the 1.8. The leather seat of 1.6 is a bit hard. Oh ya, if you have extra budget, change the tyres once you get the car, coz the only sound u will hear inside the car is that annoying tyre sound.
