Based on this, the distinctive differece between the 2 cars would be Item 1,2, 3,4, 8 and maybe 11 only. The rest is not really required and not many would use it anyway.
But another difference between the two would be the driving dynamics. The Civic's handling is still better and the engine is a tad more refined. Not sure about fuel consumption figures between the 2 though.
yes, initially i took for granted that the VSA is only the equivalent to the ESP. Upon further checking, then only found out that it has VSM features as well. If i'm not mistaken, among the current Korean makes, only the Elantra is equipped with ESP+VSM. The rest are just ESP.
As for the other features, personally, I would have given up on the light/rain sensors for more air bags

On driving dynamics, we all know that Civic is the leader here. But i would say that the Elantra is slightly ahead in terms of comfort and NVH.
