The HE price will not revert to the old price for sure. But regardless of the upcoming announcement, its always not advisable to get a new car at year end unless the dealer is offering really good discounts. In this case, i heard there is no such discounts being offered by SD.

If you get your car in Nov 2012 for instance, by 1 Jan 2013, your car is considered in its 2nd year of age already. A real loss in resale value. U dont need to cancel booking but u can request for a 2013 model. Of course be prepared for the usual scare tactics e.g 2013 model will only come in April, price increase, bla bla bla. Same tactics used by most car dealers to push year end stock.

Yes M3 easy to get ready stock as demand isnt there. Sales isnt that good compared to Elantra.

What old price / new price are u refering to? Prices for all Elantra models were increased a few months ago. Thats the price im refering to. There is no mention about any new price increase for 2013 and i would think SD would be stupid to increase again.

I was asking you about the price. Who asked you bout if u can fit into the car or not?

Always state original price separately and then tell us the discount. Also mention the model.

I wouldnt be angry if i were u. Make sure u get a 2013 model now.

It depends on the initial promise made by the dealer. Say u booked in Aug and they said u gotta wait 3-4 months for delivery, then if u get a 2012 car in Jan, u dont have much avenue to complain since its deemed ure aware when u placed the booking.

But if u were promised a car by Aug/Sept and u got it in Jan, then u have the right to insist on a 2013 model with the original pricing. Either way, be prepared to fight all the way to the top and make sure u document all discussions.

Did u check with other dealers to see what discount u can get for a 2013 model? But on hindsight, no dealer will give u good discounts now for 2013 models. Too early in the cycle.

But i think ull get more discounts if ure prepared to wait for the Elantra's competitor to arrive which is the 2013 Kia Forte K3. That is if ure not in a hurry to get a car. There would be more product launches in 2013 hence more competition for the Elantra.

Car resale values usually drop about 5-6% every year. So if ure getting a 5K discount for a 2012 model, that 'advantage' is lost by Jan 2013. So by then, ure back to even.

Hence, if i were you and i didnt have any urgency to change, i would wait for 2013. The discounts will improve as the Civic sales are improving day by day.

All cars equipped with a smart key operate in the same manner. If the key is anywhere in the car, the locking mechanism wont work. Simple.

Added on October 6, 2012, 10:54 pmLike i said earlier, if u ask any car manufacturer now when their 2013 models will arrive, they will say March/April to push ppl to buy 2012 models. But ask them the same ques in Jan, they will say can get Feb. Same cycle of words repeated every year. Typical.

U dont need to cancel your booking. U can keep your booking but specify that u want a 2013 model. But keep checking with other dealers and when the time comes go for the one that gives you the best discount. Simple.

They are still competitors despite being in the same family. Thats why they have separate operations. They only share tech.

Does anybody know the actual sale figures of the Elantra since the launch? I mean actual delivery numbers.
