Newbie seeking for advice ..

This Saturday going to have a 10km-marathon,

Breathe in and  out using nose or mouth ?

Is it alright if I wear normal school shoes to jog ?

Is it alright if I continue to jog even I'm already lacking of breath ? (Forcing myself)Will I faint or something ?

Any advice ? biggrin.gif
*
for me slow i will just use nose all the way, once go fast automatically mouth will kick in...
if u are fast runner, school will lead u to blister...
if lack of air, just walk....is ok to walk, nothing to shame of it!!! dunt push yourself just encourage yourself

Ya, my friend attend the Solomon run. He say it is totally horrible, all the way wet like hell.

Next year I won't attend the PJ Half Marathon again. It is too much lousy thing there!

1. How come let us run in moto road not main road?? It is super duper narrow & some of that damn dark!

2. Where is the damn toilet??

3. No have any staff to check is the runner run for category 21km or other category? That mean next year we can just register fun run 3km, then go run 21km.

4. The sign board is lousy, show the wrong distance KM left.

5. I agree with Panasonic88, there is no have any cheering crowd. I really love that NTV7  feel good run drummer team!!

6. After finish line, I need ask where got free drink & food? And need walk back to front door, lol
*
Salomon is a TRAIL run...what your friend expect?? nice and dry hill early in the morning??
1st part to enter the trail, alot male runner try avoid the pool water, by climbing tru the barricade that set to block runner and divide them to the pool water tat just half feet deep doh.gif doh.gif
if cant take the muddy road, water...then just join normal road race

Overslept and missed the Pink Charity Run over the weekend. Or maybe my mind and body refuse to wear the pink singlet that makes me look like a giant cotton candy. Or maybe I just need a reliable alarm clock. I am so not used to waking up <6am.

By the way, anyone knows where I can go and buy shoe laces ? Just plain ones for sport shoes.
*
aiks....then u need sleep more early....
i just use normal shoes lace that they provide and i use double knot and slip under other lace so it wont come out... biggrin.gif

I bet that's a great experience too, I saw a guy limping but slowly struggle his way during last Sunday's Pink Charity Run, I was too shy to give him a pat, guess next time I want to do so.

Another cool experience is, after certain KMs, when everyone is tired & started to walk instead of run, you override them tongue.gif maybe can count out loud, too, 1, 2, 3, 4 ... (lol sounds rude, mean but fun) tongue.gif
*
When i overtook some1 struggling i will tell them, encourage yourself and run with me...and i will slow down abit he/she will follow me for a distance before he/she drop out again.
Or i will said" come on just left XX km more...." im always talking during run..if u saw me.. biggrin.gif

I know about the wristband.
What I meant was if it is first come first serve, then why do we need to have the wristband? It is not like if I have a wristband, I am confirmed a finisher's shirt. To recognize participants since the bib = the shirt so people joining the race will have to wear the Nike tee.

Maybe wristband because they cannot use a marker pen to cross out the bib on our running tee?

Good thing Nike Run is in the evening, no way of oversleeping this one.
*
ooo...im sorry for the misunderstanding. Did u realize that the number on your shirt is different from your D-tag?? I guess the number on your shirt just a display and limited, cause every shirt has individual number so that when event day all will running in same cloth and colour. But the number on the wristband same your D-Tag and floor map will detect your D-tag not your cloth, so that your real bib number is your D-tag smile.gif Number on your shirt mayb use by the marshal for manual verify for fast podium finisher runner
Last year they mark on D-tag, when giving out the pendrive. Mayb got double collection by single runner, so that they give out the wristband...that what i guess smile.gif

Talking to yourself? tongue.gif

I count numbers, randomly, in the heart, eg. 22, 23, 24...until 100, then repeat again. It works for me especially when running on a slope. When you count, you tend to focus on the counting, and thus switching your attention. You can do math calculation too, anything tongue.gif

talking to runner beside me.. biggrin.gif

No worries, the people at the counter were very helpful and explained to me everything in the goodie bag including the purpose of the wristband without me even asking.
I knew about it before collecting my race kit by checking online to know what I am suppose to receive so that when I go and collect my goodie bag, nothing is left out. I am quite kiasu that way.  laugh.gif

Oh! I didn't notice that the numbers are different.

But I could not find any useful information about the High Miler badge though. Anyone here has that badge?
*
i did ask them bout that badge but the printing girl said she only had "super runner" cause tat day i 1shot run 4 badge, and they not allow me to put 4 badge in 1 shirt.. sad.gif

Actually, which one is the wristband? The one attached together with the D-tag?

--------------

Damn, I think my wristband is missing. It is not in my goodie bag.
*
Attached together with D-tag is just a holder...
Wristband look like the a tag when we enter sunway lagoon or any team park, is paper look

Ooo thanks for the link. Haha bib no D09019. Woot! ^^
Anyway, for the Nike Run this Sat, I'm wondering if there's a storage/baggage area? Because I'm travelling from up north and thinking of leaving the bag at the Nike storage/drop area if there's any. Is it safe? Or maybe travel light, with my pouch only and leaving the rest at a guesthouse? Need opinion and suggestion from all the marathon sifus here notworthy.gif
*
how big is your bag?? cause they keep baggage not luggage. U rent hotel rite?? just keep everything at there and travel light.. biggrin.gif
