I know about the wristband.
What I meant was if it is first come first serve, then why do we need to have the wristband? It is not like if I have a wristband, I am confirmed a finisher's shirt. To recognize participants since the bib = the shirt so people joining the race will have to wear the Nike tee.
Maybe wristband because they cannot use a marker pen to cross out the bib on our running tee?
Good thing Nike Run is in the evening, no way of oversleeping this one.
ooo...im sorry for the misunderstanding. Did u realize that the number on your shirt is different from your D-tag?? I guess the number on your shirt just a display and limited, cause every shirt has individual number so that when event day all will running in same cloth and colour. But the number on the wristband same your D-Tag and floor map will detect your D-tag not your cloth, so that your real bib number is your D-tag

Number on your shirt mayb use by the marshal for manual verify for fast podium finisher runner
Last year they mark on D-tag, when giving out the pendrive. Mayb got double collection by single runner, so that they give out the wristband...that what i guess

Talking to yourself?

I count numbers, randomly, in the heart, eg. 22, 23, 24...until 100, then repeat again. It works for me especially when running on a slope. When you count, you tend to focus on the counting, and thus switching your attention. You can do math calculation too, anything

talking to runner beside me..
