QUOTE(Arzwart @ Feb 23 2013, 12:57 PM) Shojikun, Singapore and Malaysia is not actually were allowed officially to play FFXIV right? Won't it dangerous to make a thread for it and SE will banned us? Unlikely to happen . Large-scale MMO tend to not limit players from most countries except from China .Just a thought... Especially when FF14 is aiming to be like the next wow . Not to mention there were people already purchased the game before it shut down , if they get banned now SE would have to refund to all of them . |

QUOTE(Kyxs @ Feb 23 2013, 02:08 PM) They have not mentioned it , but they are going to do stress test and open 5-10 worlds .Assuming that typical realm has the ability to support 10k-20k players , I would say there will be about 50~200k in the test. You can read more about the schedule Here Remember as reminded by shojikun , all the details from game beta are NDA . This post has been edited by Convael: Feb 23 2013, 02:51 PM |

QUOTE(Mercy Shadows @ Feb 25 2013, 07:49 PM) Exactly, because people can actually photoshop, it makes it more difficult for SE to ban people. Unless they hire a team of professional FBI network agent , there is no way for them to trace down at everyI think the only way SE can ban is when they detect a screenshot on a site, with the characters name and all. Or some one posting in beta forum linking to a site , acknowledging that they made a post in another forum. single person who broke the silence and spread the data . Most game company are applying these NDA agreement to reduce the leak of information to the minimum. That isn't to say they will totally prevent any douchebags who broke the laws .They just want to minimize the information leakage before they have finalized the products . Blizzard had a much stricter NDA agreement . I remember in D3 alpha , the testers would have to install some application on their PC during the period and every single of your PC's activity is recorded down by Blizzard . But at the end of the days every single armor sets and mob list was leaked onto the internet months before its release . Because I doubt they actually have that many of staff who go through the effort to scan through every single testing player's PC activity logs . It was more like a scarecrow effect . That is to say if you respect this game company and its games , you should do as you agreed with the conditions when you signed up for the beta This post has been edited by Convael: Feb 25 2013, 07:59 PM |

QUOTE(wensiang @ Feb 26 2013, 01:13 AM) actually i think tera graphic nicer than ffxiv...also ..>.> tera using unreal 3 engine, very powerful... When it comes to graphic preferences and aesthetics , those are highly subjective .Personally am not a fan of TERA 's approach of art style . It is too vibrant and scream 'YES I AM MADE IN KOREA " At least I like the art direction in FF 14 so far , its mild , colorful , fantasy-ish and comfortable to my eyes . I was pretty annoyed by the fact there were a large amount of foreign players from Philippine on Bahamut yesterday
If you been around with the MMO scenes enough , you know how annoying these players are . It was hilarious . Can't wait for the game to go P2P ASAP so the game can stay out of the plague from these crazy pinoys . This post has been edited by Convael: Feb 26 2013, 05:40 PM |

QUOTE(Ken.shin- @ Feb 27 2013, 11:40 PM) installing the os on a ssd will only increase boot time and the speed of the os. Actually that is only partially right and particularly for offline games . however, if you're talking about putting games into ssd, it'll only speed up map loading. on the fps factor, no difference. using a 120gb intel 330, hoping to upgrade soon, but money. sigh. It is sort of different for MMORPG. Many of the big scale MMO are like over 20 GB ish now . As you started a game , the game will only preload the information of your character's position . But as you walk around and exploring new places, meeting up with new characters , your PC is constantly reading more data from the HDD for the environment. In the process if the client is of massive scale and any data reading delay will cause slow down , stuttering and occasionally crashes and other problems. Developers from SWTOR has once said that SSD is one of the best investment for MMORPG performance ( to date SWTOR is one of the larger mmo around with 33 GB ) . Developers from TSW ( another A++ graphic MMORPG , at almost 50 GB client ) has also commend on the same statement before . The fact that SSD is still light years ahead of the fastest HDD around , I have no doubt it will show improvement on Mediocre range of PC for games like FF14 . Although if you have a pretty damn good rig around , you will likely notice very little improvement from the SSD beside reduced loading time . That is also one reason why mmorpg is unable to look like Crysis . This post has been edited by Convael: Feb 28 2013, 03:51 AM |

QUOTE(5596050 @ Feb 28 2013, 05:05 PM) Thought I'd just share this, sorry if its been posted before http://jpgames-forum.de/jpgames-de-foren/n...-naoki-yoshida/ Frankly speaking the "FATE" Quest system is just a duplicate and different name for the Dynamic Quest event system from GW2 . |

They are no doubt monitoring the server . But there are a lot more works to do other than just stressing the servers. The lags are way too prominent . I was at this map with only few players in it and the delays are still there . It is likely they still need to do major modification on their network codes before the official launch . It should be better as we progress , as many of these oceanic players will likely not buy the game as they only play F2P games. ( particularly the "pinoys " ) |

QUOTE(wensiang @ Mar 3 2013, 02:50 PM) they invited 2 many. People who wann help u stress test still need to wait to get it? there arent even a queue feature which i think is stupid also I do not think they invited too many . A mmorpg of this scale should easily invite a few hundred thousands without problems. Its like I said , these are more than just servers problem. Their network coding has got problematic as well . They maybe figuring out ways to deal with their network coding right now . |

QUOTE(wensiang @ Mar 3 2013, 02:59 PM) they are adding a lot of other server but what is the point, i dont want to play third time to get my character to level 10 again. They are going to wipe your characters anyway . So you do have to re-level eventually if you could login today . old character stuck at the server which cant log in at all. no point send feedbacks, the dmg is already done. If you been in any PTR from any big mmo , its pretty much the same thing . They could wipe your character anytime they wish . The point is to test through the various aspect of the game over and over . Its fine if you do not want to help out for the test , but the fact that when you opted in for the beta, these are all listed in the NDA agreement . Sounds like you are just extremely frustrated and angry atm . |

QUOTE(wensiang @ Mar 3 2013, 03:08 PM) First is not i dont want to help, is i cant log in. I dont think cant log is in the NDA agreement. They should have open new server for other people earlier. N they should have a queue system. Did I told you , my characters have been deleted 3 times . And all of them are over level 10. First time was in If someone ask u to help and u already arrange the time when u reach they tell u WE DONT NEED YOU HELP u think u wont be angry? if u werent good for u. fresh roll back , the other 2 times were because they got stuck at a certain position in the game and unable to get out of it . And yes it is stated in your NDA agreement that you may lose progress and unable to access to your characters . In your case it definitely fall under the 'unable to access' category . If you truly wanted to help , you could have make another new character of new job to try again. |

QUOTE(Mercy Shadows @ Mar 3 2013, 03:13 PM) I think it is just ranting, not even a feedback . So its worthless to post in the beta forum . The mod will likely ignore any ranting as it is not constructive and lacks actual conceptual points to be better. |

QUOTE(sirknieghf @ Mar 3 2013, 04:31 PM) well i didnt run the benchmark since i can play the previous one(its not gonna be so much changes right in term of system requirement) Actually it is a lot of changes , on the specification requirement at least . That is because they are rewriting the game engine . As much as its not very notice-able on the eyes.anyway ill try to run the benchmark This post has been edited by Convael: Mar 3 2013, 05:26 PM |
