Since you worked in a repair shop before, have you seen any laptop that has crack on one side of the ram holder? Mine is slight crack(doesnt hold that well) but the other is holding very well. Long term would it be good? or should i diy put more super glue on the crack? i put a bit of superglue on the crack but afraid if i put more then glue will spill to other place.

I suggest.. DUN USE SUPERGLUE ON ANY COMPUTER PARTS !!!.. lol.. my guess is it cracked because you didnt remove the ram or you forced it or its juz plain poor quality of parts.. either way.. i wont suggest you superglue it.. mayb cello tape it but definetly no GLUE !!.. because glue might melt if its hot.. scared if it realy melts then u in big trouble..

like my corsair force 3 120gb sata iii, it didnt like the ASUS N53SN or the A43SV that i have.. keep on blue screen randomly (confirm not other hardware problem because works properly with normal HDD)..

juz sharing my experience..

i apply abit of super glue on it, hope it wont melt, if superglue melt, cello will melt too right?
*
ya it will melt, but it wont be as bad as superglue rite? at least with cello, you can still wipe off the sticker part with a motherboard cleaner spray.. i doubt you can clean superglue off you motherboard...

As promised.. here is a short tutorial on how to open the g55vw case..

IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF DESTROYING YOUR MACHINE, DONT ATTEMPT THIS !!

tools needed :

1. screwdriver set (those mini screw driver that usually comes in a set of 6 different sizes.. i got mine from Daiso for RM5
2. a towel (use this as a base so you dont scratch you beloved machine)
3. Balls and some common sense
4. OPTIONAL : a small magnet

Here Goes :

1. remove the screws in yellow and blue

2. flip the laptop over and slowly remove this casing

3.remove the screw highlighted in yellow

4. slowly remove the top cover. becareful on at this part.. do not pull it too hard or you risk breaking the clips.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/696/p7032630.jpg/

5. take extra care when removing this area and also the other side

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/40/p7032633.jpg/

6. slowly remove the top case but make sure you remove this cable 1st.. IMPORTANT !!!

7. TA DAAAAAAA...

To assemble it back.. juz read the post backwards and you should be fine.. GOOD LUCK !!

EXTRA :::
some times when you are removing the cable in pic 10.. this cable might come loose also. juz check it before you assemble the top case or you wont be able to power on the machine.

if you are installing 1 SSD and 1 HDD like me, remember to set the option in bios like this
http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/6583/p7032645.jpg

If anything goes wrong.. dun flame me.. ill try to help, but if its major i guess ASUS service centre is the only option.

I summarize everything into here.. easier to see and read ..

got any mark that they make?? bcos my ex G53sx, the connector the got yellow tape....is cabut, thatsmean void d warranty already~~
*
if u mean the small yellow sticker that says "warranty void" then ya.. if you remove that sticker warranty will void. but that sticker is only on the heatsink so removing te casing is fine.

i write tte technology. that is his company i tink.

Added on July 4, 2012, 4:11 amtanyz, where is the msata slot? i cant see it frm the pic..
*
msata is behind the motherboard. i wouldnt suggest removing the motherboard to install msata.. as if you remove the motherboard screws and assemble them back wrongly, you might short circuit you laptop. and you would have to remove the LCD, lcd cables, wifi cables, speaker cables and a few more cables here n there. too complicated to be done without proper skills and equipment. i highly against the public to remove the motherboard by themself.
so i wont be teaching everyone how to do that. call me selfish or whatnot, but its for your own good. i suggest if msata is what you want, go to the service centre to get it done. sry i cant help you on this.

PS: anybody looking for a mobile laptop? Asus U36JC..
