I think its best for the followings:

1. camera obviously
2. Phone Calls with its usual nokia great phone audio quality.
3. internet radio listening at your leisure
4. Alarm clock ( nokia phone can turn off and still wake itself up in the morning and sound the alarm! Its one of those features non-nokia users would never know.  Me included initially. )
5. Music player that include Flac files (need a third party apps).  Don't forget it has good audio quality thru headphone too.
6. video recorder in full HD with very sensitive high dynamic mic system.
7. Don't ever forget GPS, and a good ones too, all for free !
8. The free apps handle all the microsoft files natively as it comes with Microsoft office system for free too.
9. Nokia play display movie and photos via wireless wifi to the home DLNA devices.  It works.
10. Some useful apps.  Not much choice, but its there, serve the basic functions.

So I would suggest it to be a very useful phone, but its good to have another tablet for further games, CCTV watching, document/blog writing, photo editing, playing angry birds, One Utama apps, etc etc
*
certainly the best part of Nokia 808 PureView! gps very fast yo, music stays simple but very satisfying audio quality! (with Dolby Headphones but sometimes I off this setting)
Nokia Belle is very simple and it suits me, I try HTX One X is very complicated I rather throw it away on the dust bin brows.gif

My N97 mini recently broke, thinking of buying 808 as a replacement and have been working part time since last month. Today, my father suddenly gave me a new Galaxy Tab 7.7. I was surprised and furious at the same time. Why did he bought it knowing that I was saving for 808. I remembered telling him how much I hate android phones. Sigh... major trolling at its best. the thousand he spend on that tab could help me get 808.

Even if Nokia really come out with a better WP8, doesn't mean they will get much, because... they STILL only grabbing WP market, which is VERY SMALL. Moreover, WP is not unique to Nokia, even only compete in WP8, still have tough competition against others, not only Samseng.
Today, Nokia maybe come out better one, in no time, others will come out even better ones, better specs, etc. Nokia will end up back to last time, playing the catch up game...

See Sony, now they're doing much better now unlike Nokia.

agreed much. even Nokia phones didn't even have any dual-core processor still they think they are the greatest phone producer ever made shocking.gif shocking.gif

Interesting read. But to be fair Samsung copies and enhances very well compared to those cheap China knock-offs.

I have more respect for Nokia in the hardware-design department, their polycarbonate (N9, Lumia 800) and aluminium (N8) phones are some of the best looking and feeling devices ever made.

But Nokia's weakness has always been lack of focus on software. Symbian has always had glaring bugs but WP7 was beta software.

100% agreed with you thumbup.gif I love to hold Nokia phones especially the high end phones
Up until now Nokia sux at software and its utilization. Hardware also sudah lapuk maa shakehead.gif

I'll keep my 808 for next 3 years, 41mp tuhh laugh.gif

I remember how unique it is on Nokia N8 devices. USB OTG, superb 12mp wide lens with ND filters, sturdy anodized aluminium body and a simple AMOLED screen that would beat all of the Super AMOLED ASS phones

N8 remains in my heart (touching mode haha)

actually the OOC picture is the "before" of the "after" i posted - cropped out the right empty portion so it looks different.

i can see you taken out quite a lot of green so the outcome looked so much more reddish. i'm more concern of the overall colors whether they're "intact" from all R/G/B channels - white balance is one thing but it doesn't seems to capture a more complete colors. talking about white balance - how can a camera mistaken that strong yellowish lighting? doh.gif

i still love the details captured, and it has very good dynamic range too, very good for outdoor shots. but once the lightings get dimmer and complicated, the color processing really start to get funky at times. not something Nokia can't fix though but if that's the best they can do i must say the 808 isn't a "complete" revolution. the first thing when people look at the photo is the subject and closely followed by colors, then only start pixel peep...
*
agreed! colors in 808 sometimes can be blue-ish. with the limited WB options you can't seem to get yellow/orange-ish scenery it correctly though tongue.gif
but 808 got a very good dynamic range and it is awesome! despite the fish-eyed lens effect doh.gif

mmg ada dua recording kan dalam video tuh? but it is still getting fishy here haha

I'm looking 4ward to the 2nd phase PureView. PureView is a very serious tech and the best is that it is NOKIA ONLY!

Haha early built-in PureView in Lumia phone. but still, OIS is great.. only in a condition like this, Nokia is struggling to attract people. Where is Damian Dinning by the way? I was eager for his honesty when the 808 was release. He did his job very cleanly!
but surely cannot beat 808 in terms of bokeh.. this damn phone is bokehliciousaaaa!!!

I still smell something fishy here, and I still think that 808 PureView is the Purest PureView we can ever get.

on the fp2, i heard from a fren who heard from a fren's fren at nokia (so take this with a pitch of salt!) that Nokia is trying to keep pureview 808 quiet temporarily out of the blogosphere and tech news coverage, so all the buzz are generated on 920 with no confusion on the other pureview 41MP anomaly. so expect some delay for fp2.
*
Nice. I wish the 920 good luck, no need lah tipu2 advertising, stay real, PureView is the only technology that keeps other company ablaze and appalled! shocking.gif shocking.gif

FP2 very2 nice lahh but I think the leak one is just not yet being final (although it is daymn good)

and personally for me, 808PV is consumer who often used camera with minimal needs of application and social networking. If you want a great package of all, then wait for the Nokia Lumia 920 PureView OIS (seems weird naming by me though haha)
