And not the mentioned the muffled speaker. covered speaker, why didn't nokia thought of that in the first place?? the rock casing looks great! but its kind of late to post at my house now, I will be back studying at kelantan this saturday |

QUOTE(little ice @ Jul 25 2012, 02:34 PM) agreed, at default brightness setting, the display is completely readable under very strong sunlight just now when i went out (a tad dim though, it's mid noon sunlight after all!). maybe the display can go a little brighter as it was under auto brightness adjustment at 50% but at default setting there isn't any problem at all. me too, I din't see such massive pixelation especially during snapping/viewing pics, their fine and and color is very well accurate, superb display in direct sunlight also i was surprised to see that the display resolution is only nHD and seems low on paper, but absolutely nice when i use it in real life despite coming from retina display iPad 3rd gen, can't really see the pixelate effect like on poorer displays. nHD pun takpe, for me display terbaik is still Nokia ClearBlack display ever since N85 OLED screen up until now. OMG, I'm getting friendly with this phone now! but still, I still waiting for Nokia to fix the banding issue (dunno if the latest firmware have fixed this or not), I use a lot of high ISO imaging |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jul 25 2012, 03:12 PM) If like to play high ISO I recommend u get Nikon d800 even at ISO 3200 the performance is amazing. woaaahh DSLR very good lah at high ISO, last time used Sony A380 at ISO 1600 image still looks sharp.. comparing to a cameraphone, ISO 800 is a goner already with a lot of noise present in the picture (but so far Nokia is the best!)Since Nokia also not pushing Symbian if will be challenging to have such support and mobile phone is never meant to play high ISO N8 display is very clear too, it is a little bit natural (which 808 had its contrast a little bit higher) but when it comes to sunlight visibility, susah sikit lah nak nampak |

QUOTE(little ice @ Jul 25 2012, 04:32 PM) one thing to add - coming from iPad 3rd gen, the GPS on pureview can use alone without any help with AGPS, and get a cold start fix within 1 min, to me is very impressive! with iPad, i can't get any fix at all if cold start and without using AGPS... =.= Nokia Maps is the best, I just know how to use it like 2 days before, before this I use Garmin but Nokia Maps seriously better lah! maybe i'm old school lol i skipped so many phones since N95. QUOTE(hox @ Jul 25 2012, 06:57 PM) +1 Sadly Nokia now didn't want to focus on any symbian phones, ClearBlack is a clear winner.. See Lumia screen it is very impressive!before getting this phone, coming from retina (ip4s/ipad3) and HD screens(androids) i figured the screen will be the biggest letdown for me...but surprisingly since day one, the screen color and saturation is just impressive especially viewing photo and video (try the sample OceanLife.mp4 included in the set). ClearBlack is clearly not a marketing BS esp under sunlight outdoor and thanks goodness Nokia didn't use the crappy pentile display for 808. The only time it's slightly less perfect is when using the Sympaper and Meebible apps for reading, the text rendering is understandably not as smooth as iphone retina. Probably the font anti-aliasing in those apps are not optimized as say the great Gravity app. One thing the 808 > iPad 3 (asides from the camera obviously) is playing HD movie, while iPad 3 struggling with non-mp4 1080 files, 808 can plays them smoothly. Only now Nokia 808PV conquers saturation ratio which is daymn good no need BRAVIASS or SUPERASSAMOLED I thought Nokia 700 (which Belle FP1 equipped, same hardware except camera and PV GPU) can play 1080p, I WAS WRONG Added on July 25, 2012, 6:06 pm QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jul 25 2012, 07:00 PM) 12800 is the highest if i remember it right. Nokia Drive is better because they constant updated the software but the maps are not up to date as like malsing garmin they update weekly. ya kah sifu?? I didn't know lah I just used this software, sila tunjuk ajar Nokia drive updates 3 - 6 months only. My friend place until today show me i am no where then when use navigation it keep telling me go to the nearest road when i am already on the road And you know la malaysia road standard every time construction construction so just imagine you reach a traffic light go straight but there is a damn construction right on the road? How? Furthermore nokia drive not like garmin you can choose alternate route This post has been edited by ulwan25: Jul 25 2012, 06:06 PM |

QUOTE(little ice @ Jul 26 2012, 11:27 AM) no, the color just came off for no apparent reason! wait, yours is silver coating? Mine is black! Probably mine is the 2nd batch one..again i left it overnight without putting it in pocket or touching that part, and lost another 5% of the coating overnight! so now it left 2mm of that black coating. i try to get a camera to snap it. i may sound like joking but i'm not. but now silver looked rather nice, matching the silver metal part of the micro USB connector lol... nope i'm talking about the actual photo. most of the time it's pretty accurate, just not under room lighting. i think it has something to do with high ISO performance which contribute the coolness of the color temperature. not the color banding thingy though, i do not notice any corner showing big patch of blue/purple/etc colors. UPDATE: ok got an olympus camera to do the job: [attachmentid=2966751] Well, as far as im concerned, most of the situation the 808 captured very accurately but when dealing with room temperature, sometimes it is kind of unnatural and cramping higher iso just worsen it up. And what firmware are you guys on? Mine is .3090 |

QUOTE(little ice @ Jul 27 2012, 01:35 AM) hi all i finally notice the color banding thingy. it happened just now when i was out for supper, and trying to capture strong incandescent lighted object while me myself in darker area - not just the color turned out blue'ish, but also purple/blue tint at corners. i guess something to do with the lens? it was a nice scene but sadly 808 wasn't able to capture it. QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 27 2012, 01:42 AM) yup, it is how the 808 handles dark area.. but after I update into newer firmware, the problem is still there but the newer firmware produces rather a pleasing result, by means, not that aggressive. And in the newer firmware (so far) I got no blank shots which the previous one always have. still, the banding issue is there but for me, satisfy jugak lahh lets wait for the Belle FP2 to come ![]() 2012-07-26-0922 by Ulwan Ibnu Mokhtar Mohed, on Flickr ![]() 2012-07-27-0043 by Ulwan Ibnu Mokhtar Mohed, on Flickr Do mind that in the second picture is a bit lower light than the first picture but it still produce less blue and not that aggressive in terms of noise QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jul 27 2012, 08:36 AM) if you need photoshop then you dont really need a 808. You just get a cheap android then later can edit. edit very buruk, but in Android OK This post has been edited by ulwan25: Jul 27 2012, 08:11 AM |

QUOTE(zack9999 @ Jul 27 2012, 11:31 AM) 059M9H7I saw my product code is available for the latest update but Nokia Suite said it isn't available, So what to do?? download from Navifirm, flashed it using Phoenix the newer fw didn't solve any of those banding issues (creaking autofocus recording also isn't fixed) it only fixed the image algorithm (mostly in the cloudy situations where you get blank shots) Its hard to explain what they have changed (but it is merely about ISO shots, I know) but the black shot still present, only less no any noticeable performance changes though, Belle Feature Pack 2 will do the job |

QUOTE(little ice @ Jul 30 2012, 08:02 PM) if you watch the video posted by Kimura above you don't hear any creaking sound at all, maybe your unit somehow did not enable the noise cancelation? not that we can manually enable it, maybe software problem... well, it seems that mine is faulty but I bet NCC Malaysia got no replacement, right? i briefly tried mine when I got it and didn't hear any creaking noise, gotta try it later. Added on July 30, 2012, 8:42 pmulwan, tried mine, spammed auto focus be it auto or by touching the area on screen, no audible creaking sound even cranking the volume to max. |

QUOTE(hox @ Jul 31 2012, 05:49 PM) ya saw those RM10-15 sp 'for 808' in lowyat but it's super rainbowy and marred the clearblack feature of 808 screen. so temporarily until you can get a good one, i think its best to keep the one that came with the phone, no rainbow, easy to wipe clear and cover the entire screen. yup, better keep the original one first..another mega review from techradar: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mo...#articleContent so am I the one who had creaking autofocus noise during recording? I flashed into newer firmware, still had this problem |
