Did you turn it on first? I tried touch touch with S3 x jalan then later at home I saw the NFC is turned off in settings. laugh.gif

It's on, on both phones. Later only test again. Transfer with bluetooth, no problem. biggrin.gif
N9 I know the NFC works as it has been tried between 2 N9s. 808 one dunno or must touch at right part tongue.gif

woaaahh DSLR very good lah at high ISO, last time used Sony A380 at ISO 1600 image still looks sharp.. comparing to a cameraphone, ISO 800 is a goner already with a lot of noise present in the picture (but so far Nokia is the best!)

N8 display is very clear too, it is a little bit natural (which 808 had its contrast a little bit higher) but when it comes to sunlight visibility, susah sikit lah nak nampak  sweat.gif  but still visible if you asked me..
*
Actually bro, when I see your mad.gif icons, it's like your 808 soo teruk at high ISO. Your standard high lah if compare to noob like me. Even semi pro cameras (those RM1,500 to RM1,800 type)not as good as 808 in certain aspects me thinks.
I chose the white 808 also. The shade of black on the black rather dull. After put black case, become black & white biggrin.gif

agreed, at default brightness setting, the display is completely readable under very strong sunlight just now when i went out (a tad dim though, it's mid noon sunlight after all!). maybe the display can go a little brighter as it was under auto brightness adjustment at 50% but at default setting there isn't any problem at all.

also i was surprised to see that the display resolution is only nHD and seems low on paper, but absolutely nice when i use it in real life despite coming from retina display iPad 3rd gen, can't really see the pixelate effect like on poorer displays.
*
Errr, isnt that expected for the Clear Black Tech? At least I expect it being long time Nokia user. Anything less, me will complain tongue.gif

peter : actually i have iphone n lx 5 lol.... photography is my hobby so thats why i have interest in this nokia phone again, but i been an iphone user since iphone 1st gen till ip4 now. so im worrying if i the contacts in my iphone can b sync to nokia 808 or not.
*
808 uses micro sim. Just put the sim card in 808, copy over the contacts to the phone. Then put it back into your iphone. 808 will read contacts from sim and phone, that is if you intend to use 2nd sim for 808. Carry 2 phones like us here brows.gif

Mine is black, still very black, haha. I also have the white 808. Better dont exchange, you have to wait ages, ur 808 might come back with more scratches. Ur standard so high dunno how you can stand ur n95/97 for so many years.

I would not bother unless very big, long line across the back of the phone or the lense calar or screen crack while its new. I take care of my phone(also have an n9) ,just tak kuasa to take time and energy to complain abt the smaller defects.

true also. but phones and gadgets gonna get used anyway, hope my OCD'ness will fade away soon. on top of it, it's not that silver doesn't look nice, just that this stupid and silly "mine's not perfect while everyone else got perfect unit" keep bugging me at the moment, rather than the actual problem of the issue. sweat.gif

little ice, didnt mean to poke fun at you. No wor, I dont really care whether its black or whatever color, didnt even notice the color till you mention. I happy the back of my 10 mth old n9 still black, that one yes. My n9 has a thin line across the width due the the case, the case has hairline crack, but otherwise ok

it all depends on how the pic is exposed on the dslr...this is iso3200 on a dslr.

just for fun, here's a 100% crop of the badge.
if its on a 808, provided it can even shoot at iso3200, there wont be any detail at all...
cos even 808 at iso1600 the detail is lost already due to the sensor size.

so its not all about megapixels...its part of it...but not all of it.

Just 1 point which has been posted before : no point if the DSLR cannot or not allowed to be brought in. However canggih, no point, security will stop, no DSLR or worse no point and shoot. No official media pass, tak boleh. It's becoming more & more strict. Either the camera stays out or the person stay out or camera kena consficate. 808,... is phone brows.gif

For this Olympics, for spectator photos, I think I have to put up with blur images from smartphones.
Edit : sorry, DSLR is allowed but no flash. No long telephoto lens too( Spore also have this rule). So far, most of the audience follow this rule. During the test event in March, camera was not allowed. Later stages of the competition dunno if they will make it more strict, now only group stage

If in Msia, sure will have many dont follow no flash rule, until participants complain. Security have to stand there keep telling people dont use flash. If got a few thousand spectator, hard to control.

Made for 808. Although, they only cover the screen area, not the whole front surface.

Sounds a lot like the N9 type, only covers the screen due to curve glass

808 got any problem so far?

buy high price, later got problem %$^%^%##$$^%&&^

Test the unit till satisfied then only pay and take. If not satisfied, can reject, just need to wait for another unit.
In Melaka the deaker wouldnt mind at all since must pay deposit 1st to order 808. If got problem, they will help troubleshoot and solve for free- for minor prob or software/update issue it faster and better than NCC.

that's one heck of a bold statement. hmm.gif

from a different perspective, is there any tasks your favorite smartphone can do but iPhone can't? just in case you miss it, the keyword here is *tasks*. wink.gif
*
1) Iphone no usb mass storage
2) IPhone no memory card slot.
3) Lack of durability, front and back made of glass. Dunno how many ppl have told me their Iphone crack/break from just 1 fall. This one not tasks but one of the main factor for 'rough' ppl like me.
4)No flash support without jailbreaking. This again dunno how many times in the sports forum people asking for update cos their phones(includes BB & windows phone) or Ipad cant see livescore. Funniest thing they didnt even know it has no flash support and tot their device spoil, hahaha.

If 1,2,3 dont count, just no 4 is enuf to deter sports followers and those who like to play FB games.

Anyway little ice, you also chose Nokia, like us, I'm sure you have your reasons

Little Ice, the flash support function can turn on and off.
For instance, Nokia N9 stock browser no flash support, it's smooth, I'm typing from it now. If user want flash support open Firefox, voila, can open the sites that need flash support.

If football fans, they wouldnt mind as much as scores dont change so fast. For badminton, the score can go from 5-6 to 12-6 in 5 min if doubles, very kan cheong if our countrymen playing. Again, dunno how times when they ask to update scores I hv mentioned 'Go get a devce with flash support'!! Lol.

They go for IOS cos its very popular, after spending the money say 'Drats, didnt know cannot see livescore. ' If they dunno abt flash support means they wouldnt know how to jailbreak or even know what is jailbreak. The IOS AppStore dont have apps for all sports, dont think the developers will make one for badminton as its not popular sport in Western countries.

Anyway, this and the other 3 reasons I stated are the dealbreaker for me(and other sports fans) when it comes to selecting a device & tablet. Dont want to be the kan cheong one who keep asking people for score updates, there are tournaments 2X a mth,so, its a pretty regular thing.

eagle - that one i can't speak for it, cause i don't use flash and i find no problem with it. there're so many other devices that can have flash.

you know what, when people give bad credit to iPhone and iOS, it's because they were truly interested on buying one initially. why does one wants to spend the effort to talk bad about a product when they don't have a single interest on it? wink.gif

*
The same goes for Symbian & Nokia, lots of people love to bash Nokia & Nokia users, even though they have not used a Nokia phone in years. A good example is see GSM Arena comments section, one has to be strong to be Nokia user
tongue.gif tongue.gif

It's no so much just IOS in terms of flash support, BB also no flash support but IOS of course is more popular, more people own it. Tt's the spill over effect -> they keep asking for scores until sometimes it gets irritating, the rest of us cannot discuss the match meaningfully. Of course also means more work as everybody else need to 'layan' them.
If everyone has the feature, then they dont even need to ask the question, we can straight move forward to step 2.

Basically they cause inconvenience to other people, that's why these other people bother biggrin.gif Same with USB mass storage, USB on the go, SD Card. Or in the sharp eagle manner : Because they susahkan other people who have the feature, they susahkan themselves is their pasal. tongue.gif

Cameraphone like 808 of course memory card slot is a must, one pic also take up so much space

..Oh ya, it also comes with full version of F-Secure antivirus to protect your smartphone and you also don't need to install silly app like Photon just to check sport scores or play the ultimate online game Farmville.

*
- F secure has caused the device to freeze and crash before. Not a good anti virus to use. Just a forewarning in case someone's Nokia freeze. Happened to my E6 until I uninstall the F secure.
- Err.. as far as I know, tournamentsoftware.com still rely on flash support. 95% of badminton livescore is from tournamentsoftware.com. If there's an app for it, wouldnt still get the Iphone,Ipad, BB users(no WP users as yet) constantly asking for score updates. whistling.gif
Like I said, as long they dont susahkan other people,me no care. If and when they do, and if they appear in badminton forums, they will see eagle claws tongue.gif tongue.gif

Wow, sifu aspire, fantastic photo rclxms.gif In the hands of good photographer only can the full capabilities of 808 camera be realised

thats why nokia should just keep quiet, then once its released let the phone promote itself...like the 808 tongue.gif

Thats cos they dont care abt 808 sales, so they dont promote. 808 marketing, if exist, was worse than N9.
Its all abt Lumia, Microsoft some more willing to pay lots to promote.
