Sony Xperia S is not enough to buy a brand new Nokia 808 Pureview. This amazing technology is the price of a HTC One X.

If you notice the photos i took at night doesnt have much visible noise at all

both also nearly same price. Also, despite the camera being the best, many are unhappy with Symbian and want to migrate to Android.

point is simple even android running quad core and running latest Jelly bean or M&M bean the photos taken can never come near to 808 pureview photos so despite the OS they copied they cant copy hardware , branding and expensive technology.

I want to make android as my main phone but the photos i take quality also lose to my N8

That is very true. 808 is the best cameraphone. But why did you come up with the statement, "Sony Xperia S is not enough to buy a brand new Nokia 808 Pureview, why?

You said this amazing technology is the price of a HTC One X. What relevance is that to my posting? Have you sold your HTC One X yet?

Why you want to spoil another person's dream to own a 808?

I never spoil another person dream to own a 808. Is you assume that you want to spoil it. I only said the price of a 808 Pureview is about the same price of a HTC One X but the camera totally owns any android phone.

Why is it relevant to yours? because you can only get 808 Pureview retailed at RM1899.

Xperia S u can get as low as 899 more or less with telco plan.

Android = processing power, something that will be surpassed is a few months time with newer cpu/gpu

Pureview = something that blow others out of water in terms of cameraphone image quality.. not so fast to be surpassed.. (evident, N8 hold it's ground until Pureview came)

But in the end is the end user preference of having rich apps, more proc power(not sure we need so much till now) or Image Quality...

But for me, I will go for PureView...

Nokia die hard fans... XDD
I own a N9 and N8....

If it is the truth it's no prob to show off...

Problem comes like HTC, they promote smth about the camera technology that said will be very good.. I 4gotten the name.. in the end it turns out to be a disappointment...

Also for Samsung said S3 is the best phone for now. Months later will be replaced by Note 2 as the leader then came the quad core krait by Snap-dragon that will be coming soon.... see how the CPU evolves?

For the phone camera, we see how N8 can hold it's ground versus the newer iphone 4s, samsung s2,s3. Please be reminded that N8 is a 2 year old technology....

one more quirky thing about 808 is the touch focus vs shutter button focus. whenever i use shutter button i got a lot of missed focus during low light as well as macro, while touch focus gave me a lot more successful focus, well, as far as the focus indicator tells me.

as convenient as it is to use shutter button over touch focus, reliability dropped quite a bit rendering the shutter button focus kinda useless in the situations i mentioned above.

other than that, can't beat the PV808 in terms of sharp details and the convenience of truely-everywhere camera in hand. i'm still impressed by the speed of the UI with that 1.3GHz CPU (or whatever tweaks Nokia implemented) and working with the CPU interface is a breeze, which is also something many other camera phone has yet to beat with their 2x and above faster hardware

actually ur the one illogical. truth of the matter is sony experia s is not worth the price and feature set compared to 808. and you r standing in 808 playground waving sony experia s. if we really like sony xperia s we'll go to that thread. spoil ur desire? hey, grow up and be a man. who's stopping you from owning 808? ur mentality is what made u upset. no pain no gain. there are other options available for you to still get an 808, as aspire recommended. with patience, resourcefulness, diligence and a brain, i'm sure you can still own one. even with limited availability, many forummers here were able to source an 808. kudos to them. doh.gif

shutter focus in low light requires the assist light to be faster and more accurate. Touch focus bypasses sensor calculation software-based, hence faster. That's why i highlighted previously to use touch focus in low light.

thanks for little ice and hox yeap 808 pureview have many missed focus due to the shutter button

1) the shutter button is not soft as on the N8 so combination with the unpredictable shutter speed delay hence the image captured become blur. Seems like touch focus is more accurate.

maybe i'm getting old or slow or something, i've been rereading these posts for many times but still can't grasp the logic of the statement. but wat i do know is that i've sold my htc one x in less than a month because the camera is not 'Amazing Camera' at all, not even close and i personally can't stand the impureness and ugliness of the non-stock Android UI, makes no Sense to me. Damn all these reminds me of my bad experience using one X, really spoil my dream to eat the cendul at the newly opened stall opposite my house...
