often use it or rarely? How old is the battery? most important thing is: how to take care of it ? shocking.gif
I'm worrying because of this wear level by my friend using other laptop brand, and googled that best if first year is below 10%

Hey guys, just got my Asus N56VZ. By the way, anyone know where to get laptop sleeve for this model?

I notice that my laptop cover is very easy to get smudge, anyone having the same problem?
*
the laptop sleeve is hard to find in Malaysia, you can try to find any 15" model around Garage Sales there hmm.gif
and ya the aluminium lid is easily smudge, every aluminium has the same thing, so I bought myself a leather pattern transparent laptop skin tongue.gif .

I wanted to change my N56 to SSD and I need to reformat it. Asus didn't provide the Window 8 serial number and those apps like powerdirector and other apps that come with it. I do not have the installation disc as well so I have to download it myself. Any way to solve it?
*
to get your windows 8 serial number you have to register yourself at http://www.windowsupgradeoffer.com/ with your laptop purchase information biggrin.gif
all those apps i think you have to find them at their own website. I'm wondering do you really use those apps?
for drivers you can find them at Asus website with latest updates though

Didn't know about the aluminium thing.. sweat.gif

About the laptop sleeve, I just scared that 15" sleeve won't fit, I found 15.4'' but never bought it cause scared won't fit.
*
it's a black and red colour sleeve or those with zip? hmm.gif
i bought one which only mentioned 15" but it still fit my lappy rclxms.gif

BTW to all N56VZ users, have u all test ur VGA port whether it can successfully plug in or not?
Coz last Thursday in my class presentation, got one N56 i7 variant user gonna use his laptop to present, but after tried so many time he could not been successful pug in the VGA cable, so he ask me to help him(my group already present before).
And what I see at the VGA port on N56 is the gap between casing and port is too small, and when I tried to plug in also not successful, so after that he borrow my Y480 to present...
*
no problem using VGA port..

Hi, anyone know how or tried to downgrade their n56v? I thought of downgrade it... I've tried to do it myself, but I don't even know how to go to the boot menu.. >.<
*
Use system recovery. Try google for the key for boot options and Asus system recovery trigger

Anyone know to downgrade win8 to win7 on N56VZ ???? i need help..

Added on December 14, 2012, 11:26 am

Hi Nick, how do you get to install win7 on ur n56? i wanted to downgrade my n56 from win8 to win7 so desperately.. >.< but i dont know how...
*
lol why? I wanted to do a dual boot to Windows 8 though

easiest method is to clean install your windows 7 using the key at the back cover of your laptop.
But then another problem arises, because I think you can't clean install windows on our lappies unless you have to do something with the HDD, kinda tedious job.

yea... my printer are not compatible with win8... hard to work wit win8.. my win8 crashed once and i sent it back Asus once..im disappointed with win8..
*
LOL if you keen with windows 7, press esc key when the laptop loads "Asus" word then choose your dvd drive.\,
in case you don't know how to boot the dvd drive...

compatible issues will be solved one day, but in my case it is automatically compatible in my desktop biggrin.gif
crash is a big deal though, wondering what's the crash?

Thanks for the welcome  rclxms.gif

Been use the laptop since yesterday evening untill mid night, quite impressed by the build-quality still.. So far only having 1 small problem, the wifi suddenly cant detect, then cant switch on back. But once I restart, it works fine until this morning. Duno is the Thunder software download way too furious at its speed or the stupid windows updates for Win8 Kinda force me to restart it..  hmm.gif

Hopefully wont got any problems anymore! Haven't got the chance try it out on gaming, need wait me bring some games out and install it then only can try.

1 thing to highlight is the model I bought is come without backlit keyboard sleep.gifshakehead.gif
*
eh eh N56 provided backlit kaybord on all models I think?
or you haven't switch it on?(Fn + F4)
and err Thunder is really speed-sucking software sweat.gif

So I am wondering, the i5 version w/o the FHD, will it be bad? Anyone can tell me i5 nv56vz asus performance? Any i5 owner here?
*
at first when I saw the screen actually I'm not very happy because I saw the pixels are not very tight and a bit dark(maybe because of matte screen) but eventually I've used to it lol not bad what tongue.gif

So it doesn't look big? I don't like big icons.

And did you try with gaming? o.o
*
LOL it's still the same with 14" or other monitors just that your wall will looks bigger, maybe wider,
the icons are still using the ratio as you seen on diff computers, just that the pixels are not that tightly "bonded" so it's not very clear compared to glossy 14" screen smile.gif

Of course if your game or MV is using 1080p it's still looks great(maybe because I've get used to it haha), I seldom play games in my lappy but what I remember is it's also looks great unless you're really choosy on screen resolution blush.gif

ya you seriously have to think twice on the warranty issues. Most of us having some minor problems and my friends that are using N56 all have very diff minor problems, one of them probably will go for warranty soon for the screen
and my speaker have a bit buzzing sound, another one has some static on the palm rest when using ac adapter blink.gif

I think got electric shock mostly is due to the material. Its aluminium. Maybe try to plug in the ac adapter nicely will do. I had this problem with MacBook before also because I didn't plug in the adapter nicely.
*
I din feel the static but my ac adapter keeps coming out a bit after plugged in sometime, need to push a bit hmm.gif

Hi, yesterday was a happy day, finally my new laptop arrived. Asus N56VZ. First impression is good, very good.

Its just that i dont know how to use Windows 8, but im learning:)! Laptop is running very smooth.

I have i7-3630QM version with BluRay, 8gb memory.... Right now i have slow slow 750GB HDD, but my seller will replace it for 720gb 7200rpm HDD for free.

So, i made it so far, that i uninstalled some Asus pre-installed stuff. Can i uninstall something else?
My program list:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I think i will keep Cyberlink programs, but maybe i dont need those "ASUS" stuff?!
*
The Asus instant thingy, life frame, life update, photo designer is ok to uninstall,
smart gesture is about the touchpad gestures so if you uses touchpad a lot I think you may consider it to stay.
ATK Package is for the hotkeys that uses Fn key in the laptop keyboard

Anyone upgraded the S3088V model to Windows 8.1?
Anyway to remove the secure boot watermark?
