Need some clarification from you.
Your Thomson router connections is it Thomson WAN port connect to your TP-Link Port1 or Port2?
Can you let me know which Thomson LED lights is on and what are the colour?

Let me get this right.

Fiber <---> Huawei(black box) - LAN Port 2 <------> WAN Port-(TP Link)-LAN Port 1 <----> Thomson Router(Voice Only).

As for the Thomson Light, may I know the Internet light is Off or is Green or is Red?
Possible the snap a photo of your Thomson light while the phone is hooked?

During my setup, I assume your CPU is WAN port :-) and and work.

Tried all possible methods for VoIP, none is working.
VID=822, Port1 tagged -- VoIP failed.
VID=822, Port1 tagged, WAN Port tagged -- VoIP failed.
VID=822, Port1 YES - VoIP failed.
VID=822, Port1 YES, WAN Port tagged - VoIP failed.

Cannot set bridge = WAN for VLAN#3.  Getting error message "Only one VID can be used as WAN at any time".

Do suggest other possible settings.

Thomson Router WAN <---> LAN1(Asus RT-N16)

The phone is working with Thomson router. Is activated.
Once I connect via my Asus router, the phone1 and 2 doesn't light up.
Any idea how to configure it in Thomson router? An guide?
How to export out those settings to check those vlans?
Another way to confirm is some one lend me the tp-link router with openwrt so I can test it with thomson router.

Just installed Maxis broadband on yesterday and after read all your post from page 1 till page 14. Decided and bought a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND device. Configured as per klseet.com using openwrt, but was unsuccessful at the end.

Few questions to seek advices from all the sifu here:

1. Is the configuration correct? i just copy from sifu jssc. Can anyone correct me if wrong?

   
2. When come to Network > Interfaces, do i have to add the IPTV as per klseet.com? or skip this step?

     
3. Is my username correct? i check on Thomson router, it shown 8xxxx@home.maxis.com.my 



Will try again tomorrow. Need to get to bed now.

And tried with redo all the setup, but still failed to connect.
Any idea on how to solve it?
Is it because i am using the white alcatel modem?

and add 621 save&apply
the system waiting for router
i cannot connect to router
the network still identifying...
had to reset it and retry same thing happen

Does the TP-Link MR3220/3420 work with Huawei BTU ?

Anyone using the TM's Fiberhome modem? Apparently that one you need to use a proprietary adapter to connect to it

Just got my maxis fibre line installed today, TM technicians setup the modem, while Maxis techs configured the router, did a speedtest, and took the bloody router away. Apparently some directive from the top requires them to send all remaining routers back to HQ. You won't imagine the amount of crap-spinning i got from customer service, about the router being out of stock la, only left demo unit la bla bla bla, when the tech told me it was a brand new unit.

Anyway, was told that i can only get the router after the 25th, which is a good 2 weeks from now! How'ma gonna pass my Raya hols yo!

So now i'm staring at the HG850A modem with an active link, just no router to dial it. Any quick solutions, like direct dialing from a PC or can i use my DIR-300(flashed with DD-WRT) to dial the connection?

PS: Even temporary solutions are fine as long as i can use it till the router arrives?

I changed to my old TP-link1043 and connection are more stable comparing Maxis given Thomson router. Wifi definitely stronger too and installed QoS to the 1043 for better n smooth browsing/torrent/streaming activities.

So far still facing session hang and need to manually disconnect/reconnect too but not as often as when using Thomson router. I called Maxis and demand for a technician call back today, they confirmed the Thomson is giving a lots trouble (We all know ) and they are aware of the recent high ping issue and they are working on it, they promised me within a week the ping issue will be resolve. (As they said need to liaise with TM too, I understand caused Maxis backbone and traffic rely on TM's 1 so i agreed for 1 week let them to resolve the issue)

So for ppl using Maxis FTTH, i would suggest you to change the router if you have the capability to flash/setup/KNOW WHAT YOU R DOING (On your own risk), Thomson router only serves as a oversize phone adapter right now

jssc , shall i upgrade my stock firmware for tplwr1043 to dd-wrt first ??

If i get a TPlink , i believe the configure shall be ALU -> TPLINk -> WIFI/Internet
                                                                            -> Thomson -> VOIP

if i need to flash dd-wrt , can i follow http://klseet.com/index.php/tl-wr1043nd-ver18 ?

I bought the wrong routerfrom 1043 to 941ND... . I flash openwrt but i can't find the "switch" feature at network tab.. (this is wat i realize i doing something wrong already...)

But without using the trank firmware as stated by Keet , i use his version of workaround
1) i copy several setting for vlan 621

vconfig add wan 621
ifconfig wan.621 up
ifconfig lan4 up
exit 0

2) WinSCP step to change the /etc/config/network to tag wan port to wan.621.

and now i'm surfing internet no more using thomson but TpLink.

my 2nd issue was , how can link tp-link to thomson to resume back my VOIP from thomson.. ??? anyone ?
