QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 9 2012, 12:47 PM) used SB600 around RM500. Not able to walk in to YL lo... gonna get from Yannick I guess. Since I need delivery also haha, not worth for me to travel there -.-its still a good flash and quality wise is still a step up from a di622. i can imagine his toilet having a full length mirror facing the toilet bowl if u walk into YL should be able to get cheaper |

QUOTE(patienceGNR @ Jul 9 2012, 08:40 PM) Hey guys, Imma be traveling to U.K [and probably going to Scotland, North Ireland, Leeds, etc] soon, I wanna know if these lenses are 'wise' to be brought along. Given the choice, I would pick the 11-16 and 50 combo.Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 [landscape, cityscape] Nikon 24mm AFD f/2.8 [streets] Nikon 50mm f/1.8 [multi purpose] No zoom lens as I have no idea what a zoom lens will do during travel. Edit : Or should I sub 24/50mm with a Tamron 17-50? |

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Jul 11 2012, 02:14 PM) thanks for the reply o_O looks like a mini ladder?anyways, any of u guys know where can i find something like this? wanna use it for some outdoor portraiture. any infos r highly appreciated ![]() QUOTE(MrAkay @ Jul 11 2012, 02:15 PM) most prolly u wont get a duplicate receipt from the store unless its really recent (like yesterday) but just give him warranty card and whatever else u promised to give when u sold the lens. Shutter sound changes when you use 8AA... its 'faster' and closer to D3's haha.btw! Yesterday i found out how sweet 8fps on d700 sounds like. and bcos of this i bought 8 AA's just for the battery grip. Never going back to 5fps anymore !!@ |

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Jul 11 2012, 03:46 PM) Take single shot with and without the grip... you will notice the differences... with the grip, the shutter seems 'faster'... not sure how to explain... but it won't be as slow as on 5 fps mode... the speed of the shutter moving that is. |

QUOTE(MrAkay @ Jul 11 2012, 03:53 PM) yah it sounds rougher, tank-like haha. i tried my friends d3s at full burst, i heard the sound and i straight away smiled lol. Switch back to 5 fps.8fps d700 becomes more like d3 series edi. yaya i noticed, hence me not ever using my en-el3 again haha. keep for spare in case AA's run dry. speaking of which, how long does the 8AA's generally last? if AA finish, will it still run on 8fps with 1 el-el3 or switch back to 5fps? |

LOL... I never talk about color one... cause color is how you process your images usually, you can have your Nikon look like Canon or Canon to look like Nikon.

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Jul 13 2012, 10:19 AM) ya peeling off now Dynamic range? Check out the D800, awesome dynamic range! Hopefully I can buy a D800 before my Perth trip in September >_<all DX user..ask them try FX color see la wut CY said is true also. i heard people saying that straight out of camera, canon gives better skin tones..well, for me, it depends on individuals..for me, i like how my nikon renders the colors more than my canon. but that's just me. and u can always tweak the colors as well. there's even color profiling in some PP softwares. and im more satisfied with the dynamic range that my FX bodies can offer QUOTE(Andy214 @ Jul 13 2012, 10:23 AM) I guess those people just see direct JPEG and never touch anything? I don't know about the rest... I rarely post SOOC shots, I control the output according to my taste, not let the DSLR decide.I notice most people like contrasty and dramatic look, which Canon JPEG version gives more, and thus the color has deeper color, but the skin color will not look good. For normal shoot, I notice Canon JPEG tends to give lesser clarity which gives more "angel" feel, which some people like especially for Portraits. As for me, I prefer details and for raw, usually I will bump up some extra clarify. I guess it really depends on preference; Most people just compare direct JPEG output. I have friends who jump ship from Nikon to Canon and vice versa, their image output still similar in terms of colors! Its a style ;-), not specific to brands. |

It just makes framing a little easier with 100% VF QUOTE(ojtee @ Jul 13 2012, 12:18 PM) RM450 QUOTE(Andy214 @ Jul 13 2012, 12:26 PM) Same here, some people don't get the SOOC means you're using camera preset settings to process the image file. About the RAW + LR thingy, output will be close but not exactly the same.Shooting raw means you're processing from RAW, and applying your own processing. It's like buying a RAW meat, either your cook it yourself or put into Nikon Oven or Canon Oven (or any other brand) and use their preset for Standard, Portrait, Vivid, etc. Even we shoot RAW, put in lightroom, we can use the preset and apply it, it will have same output as SOOC. QUOTE(opfish @ Jul 13 2012, 12:28 PM) Those who want to venture into sports photography, think twice. The world has been nominated by robots Yeah, the new bodies are designed for it. Nikon D4 also designed for such application.Reuters And look at those 1dx..... |

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Jul 13 2012, 11:54 PM) Guys, just a quick question. If I'm using the pocketwizard on a speedlight, will modifiers like umbrella be an obstacle for it to meter the correct exposure? Sorry but I never use this product before, I came from a YN brand which requires to set the flash manually. Thinking of getting the PW but nid some advices first It works based on TTL... with and without umbrella the TTL will work around to expose nicely. |
