My 3 weeks old Forte has the pull left issue, no.1 and no. 2.

Pull left issue - already did realignment.. not much difference.. perhaps need to replace chamber nut?  hmm.gif
No. 1 and no. 2 - trying to live with them.. afraid SC will make them worse after complaining..

Overall.. still a good investment..  biggrin.gif

Fellow Fortezens..

Planning to get ARB or 2point Rear Strut Bar for my Forte.. may I know which one will give better handling? Already installed a Front Strut Bar.. thanks..
*

FYI, I did tested my car for 2 days with front left -1.13°..
my only gripe when I parked my car, it seems that the front left tayar look oddly senget and the other front
doesn't.. as if it wanna putus from chassis lidat.. doesn't look alright for an ordinary car and its not a sports / track based car..

that setting was certainly gives better road feel and very sharp steering response..
the default -0.26° gives disconnected steering feel and have to adjust the steering quite often
even at straight line cruising..

perhaps u need to ask other sifus here and 2nd or 3rd opinion at experience tire shop ppl..

if your car comes with BK already.. i don't suggest u lowering your car's height for handling advantage.. 4 ppl on board sure kena macam2 scratch at bottom wan rolleyes.gif the standard setup doesn't give good handling meh ? I thought Forte's stock handling is already good enough sweat.gif

for those who change to PS3 tyre...no regret at all. i have been using from day 1 (straight away change it after getting a car) ...now its almost 1 year 5 month @ 54k km. its very grippy and yet holding good on wet surface. very recommended.
*

yea bro.. my default preferable tires was always Mich MXV8 and then Primacy LC.. then with this Forte, I give it a try with PS3.. could immediately feel sharp handling and quicker maneuver..
with just a light tap on the brake, the car immediately slowing down quickly whereas the Atlantis V7 still gliding with delay stopping.. imagine of raining season with Silverstone.. even with ABS and TCS the car will still skid !! (experienced twice at MRR2 due to dumb drivers often emergency brake)

my only complain with PS3, roadnoise is quite intrusive into the cabin and gradually increases together with vehicle speed.. where Primacy LC I used with my previous TRD sportivo Vios tires still remain quiet at 180kmph with NVH of 60kmph.. whistling.gif

Apparently, the guy who changed my tires to new Michelin PS3 told me that
my front passenger side chamber to adjust -1.13°. Doing so will suggest
better straight line steering feel and also eliminates Forte's infamous pull left steering feel
which I'm having also.

I do not want my tires to makan sebelah at the inside after prolonged use, so I rejected his so-called preferred setting and to go for default which has all round optimal wear and performance on each tyre.

There are 4 minor issues I need to live with my 6 months old Forte.
1) Lalat noise sound on front driver and passenger adjustable seatbelt at B-pillars while driving on
speedbreaker strips / road imperfection surfaces.
2) Zzzzzz and slight wind whistles from the front dash and windscreen somewhere above 105kmph.
3) Not 100% reliable reverse camera and LCD screen built-in rear view mirror.
4) Noticeable squeaking sound when leaning against the driver's seat backrest. It squeaks like 50 yrs old car when first day I brought the car home.
(SC and also myself unzipped the half leather seat upholstery and sprayed lots of WD40 inside behind, noise eliminated about 80%.. still there are upper parts I cannot reach with WD40. Defective or rusty Active Headrest mechanism I think..)

All in all.. Forte is a comfortable and fun car to drive, but doesn't feel good to live with all 4 mentioned above.

I havent test my car for speed more than 100kmh yet. So not sure if the car will pull to the left or not. But what happened actually the car still go straight ahead while driving (100kmh below). Just the steering wheel that not straight.

Can the SC just pullout the steering wheel and put it back to make it straight? unsure.gif unsure.gif

Just like what i did on my wira last time. My wira dont have airbag one.

Tomorrow I am going to collect my car. Please advice what I need to check and ensure everything is ok before accept.

I checked the mileage used 8km already. Is that normal? Possible for Car sales agent to reset the mileage to 0? Just curious.
*

Is your car's tires comes with Silverstone tires ? mine Atlantis V7 has that sound of a train running on railway sound when driving on thin surface tarmac road even at correct tire pressures all around..

on the other hand, why would you wanna reset the Odometer to zero ? unless you change your meter to a new one lah.. at your own cost.

from what I understood after I had major accident with my 2004 Swift, to make the steering straight, either front camber need to put -1° and toe-in setting at 0.8 above..

Then I thought this method cannot be applied on my Forte which is new and not involved in any accidents leh !! *touchwood* SC at Chan Sow Lin and Setapak still couldn't give me satisfied answer of solution.. they only answer "oh.. ni kena buat alignment jer la".. while outside tire shops says need to toe in a lil bit and camber to position negative 1° above depending on your car..

I think they had adjusted your toe setting on your wira, not the steering position itself.. correct me if I am wrong.

Hi fellow forte owners!

Total newbie here to the forum. Just got my car last week. Forte 2.0 titanium silver, GPS etc etc. Impressed so far! Thought the 2 litre would be more powerful tbh, but plenty of torque if OK going to 4k rpm (a bit vrroom vrromm la so only when Mrs not around). Not noticed the left side pull so far. Maybe I will be one of the few lucky ones?

Looking forward to learning from all you sifu's out there. biggrin.gif

your car is still new, performance is not optimised yet..
my car's get up and go performance is quite decent now clocking 8k km mileage..
don't expect it to perform like a sports car.. it serves the purpose as everyday car..
just expect it to provide effortless acceleration after 5k km mileage..

I hope that Forte should equipped with 2.0 DCVVT 164hp and K5 to replace with 2.0 GDI Turbo in Malaysia drool.gif

I am new here. And few questions:-

1. What is 'pull left' issue? Is that mean all 100% car will hit this problem? How to detect it and solve it?
2. They gave me silverstone tyres. Many peoples said 'replenish tyre presssure' to ensure good Fuel Consumption. What is that mean?
3. 17'' tyre is new to me. What PSI should I input for this tyre to ensure good FC? I saw tyre stated 300Kpa or 42PSI maximum.
4. I talked to SA, they told me the noise when driving is because of silverstone tyre. Unless I changed the Michelin tyre that will avoid the road noise problem. Is that true?

No la.. After the alignment and balancing.. The car can go straight but the steering wheel tilt to the left.. So i ask the guy at car accessories shop to take it out put it back straight.. Since my car has no ABS, its easy to put it back straight.

I wonder if we can do it on the steering wheel with ABS?

yes, it should have roadnoise since its ultra performance tyre. cant compare with comfort tyre, biggrin.gif ..i think that's drawback for getting a grip on dry and wet.. i will choose safety over comfort , need compromise a bit lor..since the tyre is the only contact on the road.

From my expirience with Wira 205/45/r17, i use performance tyre and was in Kuching that time. The first thing i do is inflate it to 280kpa.. He he just to protect my new rims. As u know, some place there have a very bad holes on the road. After 6 months driving everytime the speed reach 90kmh the steering wheel shaking quite heavy. After change to new rims, the shaking gone. I think its bcose of bent rims, may be bcos of the road holes. : unsure: moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif

It's a performance tyre, yeah.. 4 years after, you still can see the tyre thread. But performance tyre normally comes with sound like a train... Vooottt vooottt... shocking.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

u can refer here..http://www.ehow.com/how_6155699_drive-low-tire-pressure.html
i think better used 32 and control ur foot for better FC

30-32..better...can set 34-38 if don;t wannt ur rim bengkok..but very hard n bumpy lor

Hi Guys, just want to give a review for Mr Edwin Loh ( Lyn ID : Motorman), my sales agent which did a marvelous job for me. I just got my car yesterday ( Forte 1.6SX White ). Edwin has been a great support to me, his patience is really a virtue as he helped me from the day that I enquired ( I asked from many sellers including KS LOH lol ) and since his package was the best and KS LOH was outstation that time, I chose Edwin to be my SA. He is able to get an approval on my case, though it took slightly longer but since my case is special ( Just started working with parents retired and siblings working out of states ), he managed to get my dad as guarantor with me as hirer. He answers all my question and enquiries ( I ask alot ), and for those who needs a SA like that, he is the go to guy. Now I am enjoying my forte, so far so good. My parents are very happy we are able to get the car. And of course, I am a very happy man as well. Again, thumbs up for Edwin. My highest gratitude to you. And this is my essay for you smile.gif I hope you did not miss this. LOL!
*
Wah, you have so good SA. Pity me. My dealer SA, after selling the car to me, like could be bothered anymore. Called and SMS no answer. When got him, always explained not free lah, busy in meetings, blah, blah blah. Are all dearler SA like that? No hue you Post Sale Service mad.gif
