Is it hard to enter architecture?
Did you take foundation in arts/science or did you take the diploma course?
Wondering how is it like !!

im taking diploma , cos my parents and cousin who also took architecture didnt recomend me to take foundation cos u end up learning alot of things not related to architecture. Well in terms of having sleepless nights due to finishing assignments, that only happened to me once.. because of me doing it last minute, so my suggestion is to complete ur assignments right after u get them, and u can slack off for the rest of the week , well that is for diploma students, degree level will probably be harder. What else would u like to know?

I see, I was thinking about taking Foundation in Arts or the diploma course. I'm kind of a procrastinator so I aleady have sleepless nights haha

Since I'm taking SPM this year, are the core science subjects important and have anything related to architecture??

I heard that they will reteach you those physics stuff in university/college, is it true??

Are you planning to study your degree at UCSI as well or abroad? I think it'll be cool to study architecture abroad drool.gif

Are the lecturers good? And the courses are taught in English, right?

Sorry if it seems like there's a lot of questions, cuz I'm really undecided whether to take Law or Architecture.. tongue.gif

no, actually im from accounting stream lol.. but i hated accounting ,so ended up taking architecture .they dont teach science related subjects like physics in diploma, i believe they teach that in foundation where u have to take some subjects that aren't even related to architecture.

as for study abroad im not sure, but most likely continue degree here , and lastly yes the lecturers here are very good, when i first came here i wasnt the best at drawing (i have no arts background) but now im getting better because they teach u the proper techniques and mostly importantly just keep practicing. the lesson are taught in english

Hi everyone,i have registered for UCSI's architecture course today..
and i get to know that i have to pay the initial payment before 13 March 2015(about RM12k)
The initial payment includes the tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, refundable deposit...

i would like to apply for the scholarship to cover some of the tuition fees..and the question i wanna ask is if i managed to get a scholarship, how will be the initial tuition fee in my account...?will it be carried forward to next year/sem until my scholarship is revoked ..(Can it be used next time?)

is the initial tuition fee(included in initial payment) same as the tuition fees for the 1st semester?

i suggest you should chat with the counselor at UCSI directly.
http://www.ucsiuniversity.edu.my/foas/

or fill up their online enquiry form
https://iis.ucsiuniversity.edu.my/Public/De...bjectDef=o_List

Last time i got the scholarship also, so they straight deduct from my initial payment then i just paid the balance. And yes the initial tuition fees covers your first semester as well. The rest of the fees will be paid on semester basis.

Not entirely sure, but I hear that it'll be fine as long as you have way surpassed the minimum band score for the English tests, (MUET: Band 4 min but preferably 5 & above, IELTS: Min Band 6 but pref 7 and above) TOEFL would be  570 minimum. Please do remember that this is just the English requirement, you still need to do exceptionally well in the interview before getting accepted into the programme.

Well, MUET exam only 3 time in a year where IELTS almost every month, no easy to get band 4 in MUET and IELTS also good because you can use this once you submit your CV once you work later or further your studies overseas..

Aye, it is relevant to be included in future CVs to a certain extent. And no, MUET Band 4 is really easy to get. I do not want to brag but just to paint the idea in your head that I did not study at all for my MUET and still got a Band 5 (about ten odd marks away from Band 6). MUET is a lot cheaper to take, too. About 100 bucks?

the fee is not considered cheap but I can say is affordable with it being recognized as a bonus,
it is affordable because it is a home grown based programme where they do not do any twinnings
with other Universities, Pharmacy programme in UCSI is even recognized by the Pharmacy board
any further enquiries? Be glad to help  biggrin.gif

Just out of curiosity as I have not been to UCSI's gym since mid 2014, while I have no intention on returning and trespassing as an alumni rather than a current student, I'm wondering if the facilities have improved?

I applied for the ucsi scholarship and it offered me 18k full scholarship which could cover my foundation. I rejected once despite the bad comments from others and the advisor kept calling me just to ask the reason why I reject them blah blah. I don't know why the advisor was desperate for me to take it lol doh.gif

I did A-levels there, foundation courses in UCSI are definitely better than most private universities, anything better than UCSI's foundation programmes would probably be foundation courses from unis that are specialised in areas that UCSI isn't, or you know, A-levels. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

What kind of question is this? Of course A-levels are accepted. Almost all private unis in Malaysia accept A-levels. Only thing to worry is that do you meet the requirement of grades?

Any comments on the lecturers/class atmosphere for Interior Arch is much appreciated. I'm really interested to come study here smile.gif

Hello there. Currently undertaking STPM. Just found out that UCSI has a new course "Aquatic Science". Since it's new, I guess it would not be accredited yet? Anyway, if anyone has more information about this course, I'm all ears. Thanks
