Just finished watching the Germany vs Portugal (a pretty insipid match) and split screen viewing the
unfriendly & truly top class match between Brazil vs Argentina.

Marcello and Lavezzi were sent off to end what was an exciting thriller by Messi's hattrick.

Messi last goal is reminiscent of what a truly great WC player (ala Maradona) should be. Taking the match by the scruff of the neck. Single-handedly bootstrapped Argentina to a 4-3 victory over the Brazilians..

Thus convinced me completely that he is the One.

On the other hand; side by side (literally) in comparison CR7 was a no show i.e. he is a one trick pony IM(honest)O or showboat . CR7 can be contained by a superior athletic (faster, stronger and quicker) footballer & yes he was boated or in BOATeng's pocket the whole match. nod.gif

Yes -he is the No. 1 right now. Against the Brazilians. Wow!

Can someone post the youtube video of the match highlights here please.

agreed.

to see Messi dribble like that, kesian wei the Brazilian defender. he must be crapping his pants macam apa.

Argentina, I have to say, have the potential to go far, with a scary strike force of Messi, Aguero, Tevez and co.

but Messi is let down by some serious slack in the defensive and goalkeeping department.

same goes to Brazil. gone are the days of Cafu and co. in defence, with Dida/Julio Cesar between the sticks./

Yes their attack is amazing but what about their GK, defense and midfield?
It's useless!
They won't go far just by having 4 world class strikers.

Before Messi started his hattricks since last week, he lacked goals because he played deeper in order to help out the midfield. But he was always criticized for not scoring.
This usually come from people who dont actually watch the match but only look at the result and goals.
Messi used to create bucket loads of chances only for his team mates to squander chance after chance even thouse that Messi put on a silver platter.

Brazil on the other hand has a chance to go far.
They are balanced and young and pretty good.

You're right. Especially the defense and midfielder.. most of them from Brazilian league and very young and lacking experience.

Not to say, Messi isn't phenomenal, he is. But if anything it's those Brazilian kids should be proud that they were able to push Argentinian to the limit.

no such thing as creating new squad for world cup

olympic can include 3 seniors.

the talents of brazilian is HUGE..no way they're going to create 'new squad'

project 'brazil 2014' already begun since the end of the last world cup..that is why the most brazilian doesnt want to move to europe because of this project..

yes..that is the olympic..but the core is for the brazil world cup squad..only 3 seniors but not that seniors if we look at the age..all of them for the world cup.. smile.gif

brazilian at brazil reluctant to move to europe because of pele advising them to wait for wc2014..if they move now they might struggle to get game..cant adapt..form drop and they cant make it to the squad for wc..and that wc will be at brazil..neymar, ganso, lucas moura, and a few more high profile brazilian use the same excuse if asked about any possible move to europe..

project 2014..mano menezes..only so far keen on dani Alves, ramires, thiago Silva and robinho and maybe Cesar..they are building a new squad for world cup 2014..using most of the under 21 and under 23 players..Julio Cesar, Juan, Lucio, Maicon, Kaka and Luis Fabiano. All of them will be well into their 30s by the time 2014 comes around..

WC 2014 Possible Lineup

Brazil

Júlio César
Maicon - Thiago Silva - David Luiz - Marcelo
Hernanes - Ramires
Neymar - Ganso - Robinho
Pato

all the bench maybe from what we saw in the last match against Argentina..

they are pulling 'Germany youth at the world cup 2010' for 2014..new young squad with exception of a few experience players..

Project 2014
USA Friendly Selection

project 2014 o not

fact is there's no excuse of brazil 'lack of talent'

it's only their u23 squad.

that's all what i'm trying to say.
