I have been using Maxis LTE on my iphone since it was first launched. I can get between ~ 15 - 30 Mbps at my office in Cyberjaya and also in other areas within Klang Valley

However back in my hometown Kuching, the speed barely reaches 10 Mbps. Performed speedtest at a few locations in Kuching eg. Matang Jaya, Satok, Padungan, Padang Merdeka, Waterfront, etc. Still all the same.

Why Kuching folks are getting slower speed than those in Klang Valley ? It is advertised that LTE speed is at least 10 times faster than 3G.

Kuching folks being shortchanged by Maxis ? hmm.gif

It's location dependent I can say. Try look for better signal and less congested location

I do have Kuching customer reach more than 40Mbit

I have tried at a lot of locations around Kuching and signal strength on my phone was excellent. I suspect there are now more users using the LTE service in Kuching.

Oh damn... I didn't do my research properly. I just signed up for a multi-SIM with Maxis, but I can't get LTE on the secondary SIM. Now I learned that they don't support LTE on the secondary SIM cry.gif

No, seriously, how did you do that? On Maxis's forum their customer reps say that it's not supported.

Hmm the Maxis service center said that it has quota sharing. I guess it will be confirmed when I get the bill at the end of the month. Hopefully no bill shock laugh.gif

I'll PM you when I get home.

I worked around the problem by using my primary SIM in the LTE modem, routing calls/text to the second SIM, which I now use in my non-LTE phone. Hopefully by the time I upgrade to an LTE phone, Maxis will have solved it laugh.gif
